Super Sweet, 100\% Honeymoon-Chapter 776 - 782: Tense (2)
His voice carried a suppressed, indescribable emotion. "Where did she go?"
Ou Mama spoke with deep concern in her tone. "She said she was staying over at a classmate’s house tonight. What’s going on between you and Xiyan?"
Ou Jue snapped out of his daze, lowered his eyes, and his long lashes cast a faint shadow on his resolute face.
He didn’t directly answer Ou Mama’s question, only responded lightly, "I know."
"What do you mean ’you know’? Did you two have a fight? Go and bring Xiyan back for me right now."
"Mom." Ou Jue interrupted Ou Mama, "I have something to handle here. I’ll hang up now."
As soon as he finished speaking, he hung up the phone without hesitation.
Then, without delay, he immediately called Chi Cheng. "Did she go to your house?"
"Hm? Which ’she’?"
"Who do you think I mean?" Ou Jue’s expression was blank.
"I don’t know." Chi Cheng’s voice dripped with teasing amusement.
Ou Jue took a deep breath. "Xia Xiyan."
Chi Cheng let out a light chuckle. "No."
"Chi Cheng!" Ou Jue’s voice turned a few degrees colder. "You know I’m not in the mood for jokes."
"But I’m being honest." Chi Cheng shrugged. "She really hasn’t been to my house. Not only that, my ’little rabbit’ isn’t home either."
"Then where the hell did she go?!"
Chi Cheng decided to stop messing around. If he kept this up, things might really escalate. With a leisurely tone, he said, "Calm down. While she didn’t go to the Chi family’s house, the two of them went to Ruge’s place. They’re staying over there tonight."
Ou Jue pressed his thin lips together slightly and refocused his gaze on the documents in front of him. "Hanging up."
Seriously?
Chi Cheng looked helplessly at the abruptly ended call.
This guy really has nerves of steel.
-
Lan Family.
This was Xiyan’s first time visiting Ruge’s place—just a small apartment.
Ruge lived alone.
She grabbed three bottles of Coke from the fridge, dashed back to the living room, and plopped down on the soft cushion beside the coffee table. "Have something to drink first. Later we’ll head out for dinner; there are several great spots downstairs."
The place was situated in a bustling commercial street. Though it was just an apartment, it was incredibly pricey real estate.
An Ran blinked her lively eyes, taking in her surroundings. "Wow, Ruge, do you really live here by yourself?"
"Yep. My parents are in America. If I don’t live by myself, who would I stay with?" Ruge rested her chin on her hand, lazily. "But you’re always welcome to come hang out with me. Otherwise, it’s just me here every evening, so empty and lonely—"
As she finished speaking, Ruge paused and glanced at the silent Xiyan. Nudging her lightly with her elbow, she asked, "You didn’t go home today. Has Ou Jue not contacted you?"
Xiyan took a sip of her cold Coke and said nonchalantly, "Who cares if he contacts me or not."
Ah, the classic love-struck tsundere...
Even though she’s been checking her phone the entire time.
"I’m telling you, this time, you need to have some backbone." Ruge slapped the table with force and declared fiercely, "Teach him a lesson! No matter what, don’t move back. Don’t give in, even if he begs! Right, An Ran?"
"Uh-huh." An Ran thought for a moment, nodding in agreement. "Exactly. Even if it’s not about pride, you need to stand your ground."
Hearing this only made Xiyan more annoyed. "Beg me? By now, Ou Jue definitely knows I didn’t return to the Ou Family, but does he look the slightest bit concerned?!"
Let alone begging her—he hadn’t even called once!
