Chapter 569: Chapter 569: Like (2)

Since Mr. Zhang said so, An Ran nodded, "Okay."

When she walked downstairs with Yu Geng, it started to drizzle outside.

Opening the umbrella, Yu Geng shielded An Ran from the rain, smiling as he said, "Let’s go."

The two of them walked under a shared umbrella through their old school, and it felt somewhat romantic.

"That’s our class." Yu Geng pointed to the class on the leftmost side of the fifth floor of the teaching building and smiled, "Back then, as soon as class was over, you’d head to the school’s mini-market with Xia to buy stuff, often just making it back to the classroom when it started."

An Ran cleared her throat slightly, "How do you even remember that..."

"Because the memories are deep." Yu Geng put one hand in his pocket, holding the umbrella with the other, standing a head taller than An Ran, "I remember everything about you quite deeply."

An Ran lowered her head, not knowing how to respond.

Yu Geng realized that what he said sounded a bit ambiguous, so he lightly coughed, "By the way, are you still as good with Xia as before?"

"Xiyan? Of course, we’re still in the same high school, same class."

"That’s great, many from our class have lost contact after going to high school."

They walked around the front of the teaching building and found that the school was still the same, unchanged.

An Ran inadvertently looked up and noticed that two-thirds of the umbrella Yu Geng was holding was tilted towards her.

"Your arm is getting wet..." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Yu Geng looked indifferently to the side, "It’s okay, as long as you’re not wet."

An Ran insisted on straightening the umbrella, "You should hold the umbrella in the middle, don’t tilt it too much my way..."

"I said it’s fine. You’re a girl, as long as you don’t get wet."

An Ran pressed her lips together.

As they were leaving the school, Yu Geng pointed to a nearby KFC, "Want to go for a Coke?"

An Ran hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

She remembered back in eighth grade, she often went to KFC with Yu Geng after school; each would get a small Coke and then head home after finishing their homework.

Back then, the relationship was probably just friends, with a hint of something more.

The light rain lasted only a short while and had stopped by the time they were on their way back to Mr. Zhang’s house.

Yu Geng folded his umbrella, occasionally guiding An Ran to the inner side as cars passed by to protect her.

Um.

Yu Geng seemed outwardly carefree and cheerful, but he appeared to have a delicate mind.

At least the gesture of having the girl walk on the inside was quite touching.

As they walked up the stairs, Yu Geng suddenly asked, "Do you have a boyfriend now?"

An Ran inexplicably thought of Chi Cheng’s face, panicking a little as she quickly shook her head, "No..."

"I don’t have a girlfriend either." Yu Geng’s smile broadened.

The implication couldn’t be more obvious...

An Ran didn’t say anything, but her mind was racing.

Perhaps she should focus more on other guys.

That way, her mind wouldn’t be cluttered with random thoughts all day long.

An Ran made a small fist to herself; yes, she should interact with more other boys, and Yu Geng seemed okay for now.

At least... being with him meant she wouldn’t have to be afraid of others gossiping.

Even though his recent gestures hadn’t made her heart skip a beat.

But... she could develop those feelings, couldn’t she?

Lost in thought, her phone rang.

She took it out to see—

Chi Cheng!!
