Chapter 561: Chapter 561: Kiss Where You’re Told to Kiss

Ou Jue’s expression didn’t improve in the slightest. "Why should I care about other girls? He’s absolutely not allowed to call you that."

"Alright, alright, not allowed, not allowed." Xiyan followed his words to coax him. "Anyway, don’t make a fuss. He’s a patient, you can’t beat him up."

"Who’s making a fuss?" Ou Jue felt even more irritated, his annoyance flaring up instantly, and the temperature on his handsome face dropped a few degrees. "Idiot, whose side are you on, exactly?"

"Of course, I’m on your side. You’re my darling husband, aren’t you?"

Ou Jue lowered his head and looked at her for a good while before his gaze shifted elsewhere. "Hmph."

"Behave yourself, and I’ll give you a reward later when we leave."

"What, you think I’m a kid?" Ou Jue’s tone carried a hint of disdain. After a brief pause, he asked again, "What reward?"

"Let me think... How about a kiss?"

"Just one?" Ou Jue squinted at Xiyan. "Then wherever I say to kiss, you have to kiss."

Xiyan instantly thought of some unspeakable places, her face turning red. "Shameless!"

Ou Jue’s handsome face leaned closer to her, his voice laced with teasing. "Hmm? Idiot, what were you thinking about?"

"I wasn’t thinking about anything!"

"Remember what you promised me today."

Left on the sidelines, Ye Xisi watched Xiyan and Ou Jue’s interaction. A fleeting shadow crossed his usually bright and lively gaze.

But it vanished just as quickly. "Tell me, did you two come here to rub your lovey-dovey relationship in my face?"

"Ah." Xiyan spun around abruptly, smiling foolishly. She pulled Ou Jue back as she explained, "No, no, we specifically came to thank you—and check on you, right, Ou Jue?"

As she spoke, Xiyan tilted her head upward to look at the cold-as-ice boy standing beside her.

Recalling the ’reward’ this little idiot had promised him...

Ou Jue’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he let out a single syllable, "Mm."

With that small concession, the tension in the air noticeably eased.

Ou Jue took out a business card and slid it across the table, his expression indifferent as he spoke. "This is my assistant’s card. You can contact him to claim all your damages."

Car repairs, hospital bills, medication costs, emotional distress compensation.

Ye Xisi picked up the card and glanced at it, raising his eyebrows slightly. "You’re rolling in money, I know, but I don’t want it. Forget the claims. Xiyan is like a little sister to me. Just take good care of her—that would be compensation enough."

"I’ll take care of her even without you saying so."

"Is that so?" Ye Xisi chuckled softly, murmuring absent-mindedly.

Xiyan noticed his expression seemed off and couldn’t help but ask with concern, "Are you okay? Should I call the doctor for you?"

Almost letting his emotions slip, Ye Xisi quickly concealed the feelings in his eyes. "I’m fine."

Just then, there was a knock on the room door, followed by it being pushed open.

A nurse walked in and started setting up an IV drip for Ye Xisi, as per routine.

"Baby, fancy seeing you again." Ye Xisi spoke in a breezy, flirtatious tone to the nurse. "I’ve been waiting for you all day, and finally, you’re here."

The nurse was flustered, her heart fluttering uncontrollably.

Xiyan spread her hands toward Ou Jue, her eyes saying: See? I told you this guy calls every girl ’baby’ as soon as he meets them.

Ou Jue grabbed Xiyan’s bag from the bedside table and naturally slung it over his shoulder, turning to Ye Xisi. "Don’t forget to contact my assistant about the compensation. Or wait until he reaches out to you."

Xiyan leaned against Ou Jue and said, "Brother Xisi, we’re leaving now. Oh, by the way, my mom said she’ll make soup and bring it to you tomorrow."
