Chapter 668: Chapter 662 More Surprises – Part 1
“He said he has an energy block, and the boss told me to bring it here for you to see whether it can be used.” The man began to speak.
“Oh?” A voice quickly came from inside, followed by the sound of footsteps. The rusty door produces a grating “clack” sound before it grudgingly splits down the middle, revealing a disheveled man. His face is full of dense black specks, of unclear origin.
Logically, given the advanced medical technology of the Galactic Federation, such irregularities should be easily remedied. Moreover, he has a noticeable limp. By right, such issues should be easily cured.
“What’s the situation?” that Davis was the first thing he said when he came out.
Finn Lewis had never seen that Davis before. Whether Davis knew Finn was unclear, but it appeared that he did not know who Finn was.
“Well, this gentleman said he has an energy block. The boss asked me to bring him here. You two chat, I have other things to do.” The man who brought Finn here said nonchalantly and left, leaving Finn alone with Davis. After taking a look at Finn, Davis spoke. “You have an energy block? If so, come on in.”
He didn’t say much, and he didn’t even ask where Finn had his energy block. Instead, he turned around and walked back inside, Finn following him. Once they entered the cabin, Finn realized that this was likely an essential service cabin for the engine. Here, Finn saw a tangle of wires and various energy blocks.
You’d think from the name, energy blocks would be small, but the ones Finn saw were not small at all, the smallest one was as long as an arm, both cylindrical and rectangular. Once they were in the cabin, Davis turned back and asked, “You said you have an energy block?” ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
“Yes, but it’s not from a spaceship, so I’m not sure it’ll work here,” Finn nodded and answered simply.
“Let me see.” Davis said.
Finn didn’t hide it and directly opened his Dimensional Ring, pulling out an energy block from inside. The energy block in Finn’s hand was certainly not as large as Davis had. It was a rectangular block with a height and width of 8 cm and a length of 20 cm.
Seeing this energy block, Davis was somewhat speechless and looked at Finn. “Let me tell you, are you looking for trouble? You’re wasting my time, don’t you realize you’re also wasting your own life? Is this from some kind of toy? You want me to put this tiny thing onto a spaceship engine?”
“You’re mistaken, this isn’t from a toy. This is a new type of energy block from the Federation. You shouldn’t judge its power by the standards of the energy blocks you’ve seen. Its method of energy storage is different from the current energy blocks though, and I don’t know whether it’ll work, or whether you can extract the energy from it.” Finn quickly responded.
“Are you sure?” Davis looked suspiciously at Finn, then looked back at the energy block that Finn was holding. This energy block was a deep blue color, unlike the blue and white ones they were using. But how much energy could such a small block contain?
“I’m sure. Why not give it a try? It shouldn’t take too much time right?” Finn answered. This energy block shouldn’t have any big problems. Although Finn hadn’t yet joined the Galactic Federation when he exchanged for this energy block, Finn asked “Zero”. “Zero” said its method of energy storage was similar to the Galactic Federation, except that the efficiency of the two was not on the same level.
After exchanging it, it was stored inside “Zero”. Then, on the way from Federation Star District to Redglow Star, Finn filled his Dimensional Ring with energy blocks. Actually, Finn wanted to release spores on Redglow Star. Although Redglow Star was a remote area, it had a complete defense system, and “Zero” couldn’t directly launch them from the universe like it used to.
“Alright.” Davis pondered a bit. Since Finn sounded so sure, he probably wasn’t joking around. After all, Finn was also on the spaceship. If they couldn’t escape, neither could Finn.
Davis took the energy block and walked straight to the back. Finn didn’t disturb him but just stood not far away watching him. Seeing Davis’s working method, Finn was sweating. Are you sure you’re not an undercover sent by the enemy?
Damn it, this cabin should be an important part of the engine room right? The wires installed here, although he didn’t know what they’re for, had to be for something. But what did Davis do? The guy just grabbed a bunch of wires and pulled them down, not even bothering to look at them.
“Crack!” The moment this bundle of wires was yanked down, countless sparks flew out, even causing the cabin lights to flicker a few times. Finn watched in horror. Damn it, is this a repair job?
“What are you doing?” Finn asked. He watched Davis pull down a bundle of wires, reveal an empty space, stuff a bunch of stuff inside, and then jam in Finn’s energy block.
“Nothing much, just testing the energy output of this thing. Should be similar. I had a quick look. Although this machine is a bit old, it should be usable. As for how much energy is inside, we can test it with the flight engine later.” Davis replied while working.
Well, that’s really straightforward. My god, Finn thought Davis was going to use some tools to test the energy value and output method of this energy block first, then see how to refit it. It turns out that Finn was thinking too much. They just jumped right into it, testing in actual application.
About ten minutes later, Davis dusted off his hands and said, “Alright, let’s see how much power your energy block can provide for the engine.”
“Alright, you call the shots. I don’t know much about this anyway.” Finn nodded.
“Sky Rat, Sky Rat, this is Davis, get back to me ASAP.” Davis took out a communicator from his pocket and yelled into it.
“What is it?” A voice came from the communicator.
