Chapter 2016: Chapter 2079: Two Women Kidnapped

Li Yifei hung up the phone, he knew who took Liang Wei.

Turning his head to look at the Saintess, Li Yifei hadn’t spoken yet but the Saintess already understood. She looked a bit uneasy, having also heard the conversation on the phone just now. Since Li Yifei looked at her right after hanging up, the Saintess guessed it might be the Holy War Organization’s doing.

"I’ll handle it." The Saintess said.

Li Yifei glanced at the child and said, "Forget it, let’s go together. After all, it’s partly my fault."

"Alright, I’ll take care of this matter." The Saintess said fiercely.

Liang Wei went out alone for business today, bringing a female bodyguard, the black woman. She was on the phone with Yi Mei’er at noon when suddenly Liang Wei let out a scream, followed by her shouting over the phone asking who they were and telling them not to knock her. Then, chaotic sounds came through, making Yi Mei’er immediately worried.

In Seattle, the security is decent but not perfect; otherwise, two girls’ families wouldn’t have sent professional bodyguards for protection. They never expected that a broad daylight shopping trip would lead to a blatant kidnapping.

Disliking the feeling of being followed, Liang Wei had negotiated with Sarah to give her some space because she wanted some time to herself. It was broad daylight in a shopping mall, and no one would dare to make a move there. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

However, as Liang Wei walked and talked on the phone, an unexpected incident occurred.

She was kidnapped. Sarah realized something was wrong and rushed to rescue Liang Wei, only to be stopped by several people. Normally, two or three people wouldn’t be a problem for Sarah, but this time was different. One of them easily took Sarah down.

Sarah had encountered skilled people before, but someone who could subdue her within a couple of moves, she had only seen a few, besides the few instructors who trained her. She couldn’t think of anyone else capable of such a thing.

Hearing this, Li Yifei knew it wasn’t done by ordinary people. With the Holy War Organization’s capabilities, finding out his previous whereabouts was too easy. They could have broken into the airport, driven Yi Mei’er’s car, even left it there, and took out the Dark Maid. They might not dare mess with him, so they targeted the two girls.

Thinking of this, Li Yifei got a little angry. How could such a large organization stoop to act against two defenseless girls?

Li Yifei was very angry, the Saintess was also angry. She sat in the back with the child, and Li Yifei sat in the passenger seat, leaving only the driver to drive, while she pushed everyone else out of the car. On the way, the Saintess contacted a Seattle-based representative, who said they knew nothing of the incident, so she ordered them to investigate.

The Holy War Organization is enormous, with representatives in each region, so if other regions or factions acted independently, it indeed wouldn’t require the local representative’s knowledge.

Li Yifei called Yi Mei’er again, the phone rang over ten times but nobody picked up, which wasn’t typical. It wasn’t off, just unanswered, giving Li Yifei a bad premonition that maybe Yi Mei’er was in trouble too.

After calling several more times, the phone was switched off.

Sighing, Li Yifei looked at the Saintess and softly asked, "How about your side?"

"Still investigating, we really don’t know which group did this!" Shaking her head, the Saintess said, "Don’t worry, if someone from the Holy War Organization did it, I’ll surely deal with them, but it could also be another organization because..."

"Maybe it’s not that serious." Li Yifei was about to say more but the child woke up. Opening wide eyes, not crying or fussing, just looking curiously between Li Yifei and the Saintess, reaching out little hands, trying to say something like ’mama.’

Li Yifei’s expression softened immediately, while the Saintess was overjoyed. She had been around children before but never felt anything special. Now, seeing Li Yifei’s child, she felt a strange fondness. Extending her hands, the Saintess carefully held the child while saying, "There, there, be good."

She had never held a child before, appearing somewhat clumsy and worried that her movements might harm the child. After some adjustments, she found a comfortable way. Luckily, the child was calm, lying in her arms and looking curiously at her, soon becoming fascinated by her hair, playing with it.

"Yifei, please be assured, I’ll take full responsibility for this matter." The Saintess looked up to reassure him.

Li Yifei nodded, unsure of what had happened to the two girls, but it didn’t seem like a prank. It could have been the Holy War Organization or another force’s doing.

The car pulled into Yi Mei’er’s villa; the gates and garage doors were open. Li Yifei jumped out first, with the Saintess following him holding the child. The villa’s door was also open. Running inside, Li Yifei saw someone lying on the ground, not Yi Mei’er, but her other bodyguard, a white woman, whom he remembered as Barbara.

"Not dead, just unconscious." Li Yifei said after testing with his hand, applying a bit of True Qi on Barbara’s forehead. She slowly awoke and hazily opened her eyes, promptly shouting, "Miss, run! I’ll hold them back!"

"It’s me, who took Yi Mei’er?" Li Yifei asked.

Only then did Barbara see Li Yifei and an unfamiliar woman, along with a child.

"I don’t know who they were. After Miss Liang was taken, I immediately heightened security, but before I could call the police, several people broke in, both men and women, moving swiftly and somehow breaking the door. I tried stopping them, telling Miss to escape through the garage, but... As soon as I drew my gun, the leader suddenly jumped, covering six or seven meters in a blink, and knocked me out with one move. After that, I remember nothing."

"Alright," Li Yifei nodded, turning towards the Saintess, who just pulled out her phone to take a call.

A minute later, the Saintess hung up, and Li Yifei heard it too. Still, no confirmation if it was the Holy War Organization’s doing. The Seattle representative was on the way, and mall videos showed it was done by highly professional people.

"So maybe it wasn’t the Holy War Organization?" Li Yifei asked the Saintess.

"Possibly, there are several small factions here in Seattle."

"Please continue the investigation and let me handle it when we have a target, just one request, do it quickly!" Li Yifei stated, if it wasn’t the Holy War Organization, he had no reason to ask for more help from the Saintess.

"Alright." The Saintess nodded.

Barbara went to retrieve the villa’s surveillances, which showed two cars coming, identical vehicles with license plates obscured.

Nearby the mall, the parking lot caught sight of two similar cars; once they grabbed the targets, they left immediately.

So, there were four cars in total, all identical. Li Yifei thought for a moment, then asked the Saintess, "Two such cars, with a large objective, especially with two others as well. Shouldn’t be hard to track them, right?"

"We’ll get news soon!" The Saintess replied confidently about matters like this.

Indeed, five minutes later, there was news. These four cars, moving in pairs, drove towards the city’s outskirts, just half an hour ago.

"Half an hour... We need to hurry and catch up." Li Yifei said, glancing at the Saintess and the child, suggesting, "You need not go, just take care of my son!"

"I’ll go too, I’ll take care of the child, and with me there, my people will be more cooperative." The Saintess insisted.

"Alright."

They got in the car and followed the route, while the Holy War Organization’s Seattle representative also dispatched people. Soon they reached a mountainous area. The terrain was complex, with some residents scattered throughout, in thick forests or by the lakeside. No surveillance here, only knowledge that the cars headed this way.

Li Yifei drove himself, meeting with the Seattle representative halfway. The person showed clear hostility towards Li Yifei, although said nothing due to the Saintess’s presence.

"James, are you sure it’s not our people?" The Saintess asked.

"From the information I have, it wasn’t us, but..." James was confidently about to answer when he abruptly stopped, as they spotted the Holy War Organization’s symbol ahead, stopping him mid-sentence.

The Saintess saw the symbol too, an internal sign of the organization. Having this symbol indicated Holy War Organization members were there. She frowned and glanced at the Seattle representative accusingly.

The Seattle representative’s face turned fearful, the symbol had a letter, confirming it was Seattle’s Holy War Organization members’ doing.

"Saintess, I’ll check it right away. If it’s my people, I... will accept punishment." He spoke, disregarding previous hostility towards Li Yifei.

"Alright." The Saintess, displeased, had made promises to Li Yifei to properly handle things, only to be let down by her subordinates, feeling disgraced.

The Seattle representative led a team to check, and Li Yifei didn’t hesitate to follow.

Quickly, they found more evidence, nearly confirming the enemy’s location. Turning another corner, Li Yifei told the Saintess, "Could you hold the child for a bit?"

"Alright!" The Saintess nodded, then told Li Yifei, "You can handle it however you see fit."

Li Yifei appreciated the gesture, naturally aware that she understood his relationship with Liang Wei and Yi Mei’er, having explained it earlier.
