Super Soldier in the City-Chapter 1986 - 2049: Before the Great Battle
The saint had already done her research. Li Yifei took the phone and glanced at it, finding an English guide. After a brief skim, Li Yifei nodded and said, "Okay, we’ll follow this."
The saint took the phone back and switched to another app, then said, "This one is in Chinese."
"Alright!" Li Yifei glanced at it again, still agreeing with her planned route.
Having reached a consensus, a smile appeared on the saint’s face. Of course, during this meeting, Li Yifei still found her emotions peculiar. It wasn’t mood swings influenced by her period but the life-and-death battle they faced—well, it was Li Yifei’s life-and-death battle. If he won, he certainly wouldn’t kill the saint, so she wasn’t in any danger.
Back in the room, Li Yifei seriously practiced for two hours and only finished when it was early morning. He had no sense of fatigue, standing by the window, looking outside. The road was naturally empty. Li Yifei felt peaceful inside. His cultivation progress had not been significant lately, partly due to many recent events, and he himself had been somewhat negligent.
Of course, his slower progress and lack of effort were all relative. Considering his age and cultivation time, reaching his level could certainly be described as extraordinary.
Waking up in the morning, Li Yifei got ready, went to the saint’s room, and arranged for breakfast to be delivered by the hotel staff in advance. Having finished breakfast, they went out together, with the saint once again driving, beginning their tour.
There are many sights around Vienna, and Li Yifei was genuinely visiting an area to its attractions. They went to various places like the Vienna Forest, Albertina Museum, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Hofburg Palace, Schonbrunn Palace, Vienna Museum of Art History, and Vienna State Opera. They didn’t visit the Vienna State Opera again since they had been there before, even though the saint wanted to see another opera, but Li Yifei really wasn’t interested in it.
The grandeur from the Roman Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire days left Vienna with countless magnificent buildings. As the "City of Music," it attracted musicians like Beethoven, Mozart, and Mahler, inheriting their classical music works and cultural heritage. Vienna expands outward from the Inner City to the Outer City in three layers. The Inner City is the old town, known as "The Heart of Vienna." Streets here are narrow, cobblestone-paved, crisscrossing, flanked by Baroque, Gothic, and Romanesque buildings, with the spires of medieval St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the double-towered church piercing the blue sky. Surrounding the Inner City is an inner ring with a width of 50 meters, lined with trees, and important buildings like museums, town halls, parliament, universities, and the State Opera House.
Between the Inner and Outer Rings is the city’s middle layer, the dense commercial and residential areas, interspersed with churches, palaces, and other buildings. The industrial zone lies to the south and east of the Outer Ring, while the west is home to villas, parks, palaces, and extends to the forest’s edge.
Li Yifei and the saint even went for a forest hike, passing through a natural forest with primitive features, composed mainly of mixed forests and hilly grasslands, spanning 1250 square kilometers, part of which extends into Vienna. Adjacent to the Vienna Forest flows the Wein River Valley, with pristine waters and lush woods, enhancing this ancient city’s charm. Additionally, the Vienna Forest plays an essential role in purifying the air, earning the reputation of being "the city’s lungs."
The scenery was indeed beautiful, though there was a lack of beauty due to the abundance of tourists along the way.
Li Yifei and the saint were currently staying in a small village called Elismeda, already at the forest’s edge. They planned to rest here for a while before returning to Vienna, spending the night there, as tomorrow was the big battle.
The saint’s face was flushed, showing no signs of travel fatigue. Even on the journey, at every attraction, she’d insist that Li Yifei take pictures of her, even buying an SLR camera for photography, and she’d proactively ask nearby tourists to take pictures of her and Li Yifei.
She’d try roadside snacks and drinks without a hint of saintly delicacy, though anything she couldn’t finish went to Li Yifei. Initially, Li Yifei asked if this counted as an indirect kiss, but the saint merely rolled her eyes at him, still handing him food and drinks.
The two appeared as a traveling couple, feeling comfortable until... two women appeared in their view and walked toward them.
"Hello, sir." A blonde lady came over, smiling sweetly, and graciously greeted Li Yifei.
Li Yifei returned her smile and said, "Hello."
The women before him were equally beautiful, with one wearing sunglasses that obscured some of her face but still revealing her beauty. In terms of figure, she was even more striking than the saint beside him, leading Li Yifei to admire certain God-given aspects of these European and American women.
The saint was sipping a cup of juice, her white teeth biting the straw while her big eyes analyzed the two women who approached.
"Could you please take a picture for us?" The woman who had approached them asked.
Li Yifei nodded and said, "Of course."
"Thank you." The woman handed over a camera to Li Yifei, who got up and went over to take several pictures for them, receiving a few thank-yous before returning.
Returning, Li Yifei saw the saint’s cheeks puffed up, appearing quite displeased. Li Yifei chuckled and pinched her rosy cheeks, saying, "Jealous just because I helped take a picture?"
"Humph." The saint returned him a huge leer, removed her lips from the straw, wrinkled her nose, and asked, "Am I prettier or are they?"
"Of course, you are." Li Yifei immediately said.
The saint showed a smug look, then pointed at the camera on the table, saying, "I want to take a picture too, and right at the same spot as before."
The "saint" refers to the place Li Yifei just helped photograph. Li Yifei glanced over and continued to nod, saying, "Sure, let’s go take some pictures."
Upon hearing this, the saint immediately got up and asked Li Yifei to take photos of her. It wasn’t until the photo session that Li Yifei realized this girl even mimicked the poses of the two blonde women earlier—she wanted to compare herself too... Li Yifei shook his head and began acting as the photographer.
When the saint was satisfied with the photos, they both stopped and returned to their seats, only to see that the two blonde beauties from earlier had also sat down, right behind them.
Li Yifei just glanced at them, and the women were also looking at them. One of them raised her drink and smiled at him, to which the saint beside him let out a light hum. Clearly, she cared about this matter.
This kind of saint seemed like an ordinary person, a normal woman. Li Yifei understood this at heart, so he neither pointed it out nor teased her.
However, while Li Yifei didn’t want to talk, the two women behind them were fixated on him. Soon, the one who had initiated the conversation picked up her drink and sashayed over.
"Hello..."
Li Yifei turned his head, smiled, and nodded at her.
Unexpectedly, the beauty directly pulled out a chair and sat on the other side of Li Yifei, then nodded at the saint, and said to Li Yifei, "Sir, are you from Huaxia?"
"Yes."
"Wow, really? Ellie and I were just guessing which country you’re from. I guessed you’re from Huaxia." The beauty placed her drink on the table, crossed one leg over the other, and said with slight excitement.
Tsk, what is this woman up to? Li Yifei and the saint both thought.
You can’t refuse a smiling face, so Li Yifei continued to nod, saying, "Yes, you guessed right." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"That’s great! Ellie and I both really like Huaxia people. They are very polite, and their appearance is also quite approachable. Oh, and they’re all quite wealthy." The beauty said this and then extended her hand towards Li Yifei, introducing herself, "Let me introduce myself, my name is Basia."
"My surname is Liu." Seeing her extend a hand, Li Yifei also reached out, giving it a light shake before letting go. At this moment, the expression on the saint’s face suddenly changed— not to seriousness, but rather it blossomed into a smile, as she said, "Darling, she’s really beautiful."
"You’re beautiful too. In my heart, you are the most beautiful." Li Yifei said, introducing to Basia, "This is my wife, her name is Yanzi."
"Yanzi? That’s a Huaxia name, right? Liu, you truly have charm, attracting such a beautiful woman." Basia said with some surprise.
Li Yifei nodded and said, "Yes, haha, I’m indeed very honored."
"I wonder where you are heading next? If it’s on the way, we could travel together. Ellie and I are both looking forward to accompanying a mysterious and gentlemanly Eastern man." After chatting for a bit, Basia made a request.
Li Yifei glanced at the saint, and saw that she nodded, even saying, "Sure, anyway, it’s a bit boring with just the two of us traveling, we’d love to have more friends."
Since the saint agreed, Li Yifei couldn’t refuse. He nodded slightly and said, "Our next stop is... uh, darling, where are we going?"
"We are going to Salzburg," the saint replied.
Basia’s eyes lit up, "Are you going to Mozart’s residence?"
"Yes."
"That’s great, we’re also heading there. To be honest, Ellie and I are members of an all-girls band. We came to Vienna seeking creative inspiration, and these homes of musical masters are the places we planned to visit. Salzburg is indeed our next destination," Basia said with some excitement.
The saint said, "That’s perfect, we can travel together."
Li Yifei couldn’t oppose, so he agreed. At this point, Ellie also stood up, walked over to Li Yifei’s table, and after some introductions, Li Yifei learned that these two beautiful European women were one nineteen-years-old, the other twenty.
