Super Rich by Doing as You Please-Chapter 117 - 101: Why Are You Looking at Me Instead of the Fireworks?
After going on two rides in a row, both of them were feeling a little tired.
At Chen Xin’s suggestion, they went into a merchandise shop.
For some items in the shop, you couldn’t just buy them if you wanted to; you had to win a lottery just for the chance to purchase them.
This rule, however, didn’t apply to Xu Yun and Chen Xin, who had special privileges.
The shop was filled with a wide variety of cartoon merchandise. Xu Yun picked out a yellow Donald Duck hat for Chen Xin to wear, which looked adorable on her.
He bought a Mickey Mouse hat for himself.
Thanks to their VIP card privileges, they got a 20% discount, making everything much cheaper than it was for regular tourists.
After shopping, they rested for a bit before Chen Xin took Xu Yun to see the final parade of the day.
At first, Xu Yun had expressed his disdain. ’What’s so great about a parade? It’s childish.’
But once they were there and saw the costumed characters from TV performing, he was more focused and excited than anyone, even giving a high-five to a pink seal.
Chen Xin mercilessly mocked him for it.
With Xu Yun’s help, she also got to take souvenir photos with many of the "celebrities."
It’s as if the whole world is rushing you to grow up, but Disneyland desperately protects your childlike innocence and your childhood.
However, when Chen Xin went to get a photo with the superstar "Linnabelle," she still had to wait in line for a while, even with their privileges.
It couldn’t be helped. The character was just that popular, and there were plenty of other rich people around. Xu Yun wasn’t the only one with special access.
At noon, their concierge led them to the exclusive VIP area, where they ate hamburgers that cost over 100 yuan, hot dogs for over 40, and a combo meal that was over 300.
It was a bit expensive, but for Xu Yun, it was just a drop in the bucket.
After lunch, they rested for a moment and then resumed their mission to hit all the attractions.
With a regular ticket, you’d spend most of the day waiting in lines and probably only get to experience two or three rides.
But with a VIP card, you could ride whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. There was no need to queue at all; if you wanted to go on a ride, you were in the very next group.
And if one time wasn’t enough, you could even stay on and ride it again immediately.
You could basically get through all the classic attractions in a single day.
Finally, they came to a ride better suited for older kids—the TRON Lightcycle Power Run.
This one was a bit more thrilling.
Chen Xin hadn’t wanted to go and was planning to wait for Xu Yun at the bottom.
But she was afraid he would laugh at her for being a coward, so she braced herself and went.
In the front row, no less.
Once it started, the cool-looking motorcycle shot through the air at over 80 miles per hour, causing Chen Xin to shut her eyes tight and scream her lungs out.
For sixty seconds, she lost her sense of gravity, her composure, and all other sensations.
Beside her, Xu Yun was ecstatic, his eyes wide open the entire time without a hint of fear.
But after the ride was over, the on-ride photo hadn’t turned out well, so at Xu Yun’s suggestion, they didn’t get off and went for another round.
The result was that when they finally got off, Chen Xin was completely dizzy and on the verge of throwing up.
Seeing this, Xu Yun asked with concern, "How are you? Are you okay?"
"I’m fine. It was probably just my first time on a ride like this. I’m not used to it."
Just as she finished speaking, Chen Xin let out a burp, looking like she was about to be sick.
"You’ll get used to it after throwing up a few times."
Xu Yun patted her back. Speaking from experience, he said with a smile, "It’s like that for everyone the first time they ride this.
The first time I rode a roller coaster, I almost threw up my guts when I got off.
Later, I went on it a few more times. You throw up and up, and then you get used to it."
"..." Chen Xin was speechless.
When Chen Xin felt a little better, they went on the Roaring Rapids ride on Thunder Mountain.
Even though they wore raincoats, they were still soaked by the time the ride was over.
Next was the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Although it was a roller coaster, it wasn’t thrilling at all. Even Yu Jin could handle it easily.
Finally, they also went on Peter Pan’s Flight, the Jet Packs, and Rex’s Racer.
For the last two, Xu Yun had wanted Chen Xin to just wait for him at the bottom, but she insisted on going up to accompany him.
Xu Yun couldn’t argue with her, so he agreed.
As a result, when they got off, Chen Xin couldn’t help but feel her stomach churn again.
By the time they had done all of that, the sky was growing dark, and only the final nighttime spectacular was left.
After eating dinner in the park, as night fell, the two of them headed toward the location for the fireworks show.
They didn’t have to line up to save a spot. Thanks to their VIP card privileges, their concierge had already arranged and reserved the best VIP viewing location for them.
Disneyland is actually more beautiful at night than during the day, and it’s also a bit less crowded.
Walking through the park, the atmosphere was wonderful.
Xu Yun saw someone selling balloons nearby and thought about buying one for Chen Xin.
He’d noticed that the girls in the other couples around them were all holding one.
’Even though Chen Xin isn’t my girlfriend... well, she’s a girl, after all.’
"Wait here, I’ll go buy you a balloon."
Chen Xin shook her head. "Forget it. There’s no need, they’re too expensive."
"How expensive can one balloon be?"
Chen Xin replied, "I looked it up online. A regular one is 120 yuan, and a light-up one is 150."
"..." Xu Yun was speechless.
’The things in this place... they really don’t treat money like it’s money!’
’A balloon like this would be 10 yuan at most in the plazas back in Jiangcheng!’
"So, even though you’re very rich, let’s not be those suckers,"
Chen Xin smiled. "Let’s just go peacefully watch the final fireworks show and end our Disney trip."
"Alright." Hearing this, Xu Yun didn’t insist.
The two arrived at their destination, where a large crowd had already gathered.
They found their spot and stood side-by-side, gazing at the brilliantly lit, dreamlike Disney castle before them.
As the countdown finished, a magnificent firework soared into the sky, bursting open and illuminating the night.
Then, more and more fireworks exploded across the night sky.
The beauty and splendor were impossible to describe with words. Everyone instinctively pulled out their phones to record the moment.
Xu Yun watched the fireworks, lost in the sight.
Chen Xin, however, secretly turned her head and gazed, mesmerized, at Xu Yun’s profile.
She had never had a boyfriend or been on a date with a boy, so she didn’t know what a date was supposed to feel like.
But she felt that her day with Xu Yun wasn’t just a trip; it was more like a private fair, just for the two of them.
Xu Yun turned his head and, seeing Chen Xin looking at him, couldn’t help but smile. "Why are you looking at me instead of the fireworks?"
"It’s nothing."
Chen Xin turned back to the night sky and asked loudly with a smile, "Do you think the fireworks are beautiful?"
"They are."
"I think so too."
