Sitting in the vehicle heading towards the provincial city, Peter found his mood quite good.
This time, he had transported 100 jars of medicinal wine to the county, and his friends had eagerly bought all of them without hesitation.
It became clear to him that selling medicinal wine was a lucrative business.
Upon discussing with his friends, he adamantly refused to accept too much money, charging 100,000 dollars per can instead.
Out of the hundred jars, Julian took ten, while the rest were evenly split among his friends.
When Reuben’s father found out about this, he immediately had Reuben purchase thirty jars on the spot.
Peter didn’t care whether they were helping him or needed the wine for themselves.
Regardless, he had made nine million dollars.
In addition, Julian would help him get a 300-year-old wild ginseng root, something Peter truly desired.
From this venture, Peter saw the potential in the medical herbs farming business.
His purpose for heading to the provincial city was to purchase some jade materials for formation making.
Although he had never made one before, his inherited knowledge did contain quite a bit of information about it.
When Julian found out Peter was purchasing jade, he gave him a call, mentioning a friend who happened to be in that business.
Julian originally wanted to accompany Peter to the provincial city.
However, he had a big deal going on in another province, and couldn’t make it, so he sent a driver to transport Peter instead.
Looking at the bustling provincial city, Peter’s eyes were filled with curiosity.
After all, he had gone to prison when he was seventeen, and had barely come out.
He lacked understanding of society outside prison.
Nevertheless, during his three years in prison, he learned quite a bit about the city by watching television, although seeing it firsthand was a bit different.
Looking at his own attire, Peter felt a bit embarrassed, especially compared to the fashionable men and women walking on the street.
“Are you Mr.
Brown?”
The moment the vehicle stopped, it was already greeted by a very glamorous woman wearing a tastefully dressed fashion attire, with slightly purple-dyed hair, exuding an air of mature charisma.
Despite all that, the woman looked at Peter with some curiosity.
“I’m Peter.”
“Ah, so you’re Mr.
Brown, welcome, welcome.”
The woman immediately extended her hand to shake Peter’s.
Upon touching the woman’s soft white hands, Peter felt extremely awkward, especially with the woman standing so close, revealing her voluptuous chest.
Peter’s face turned red.
The woman’s eyes brightened as she noticed Peter’s discomfort and subtly traced her finger across his palm.
Peter, who had never encountered such a situation, hastily withdrew his hand.
In his heart, he decided to keep his distance from this woman in the future, assuming she was certainly up to no good.
“My name is Maya Watson. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
It’s a pleasure to meet your aquaintance.”
“Hi, Miss Maya.”
“Ah!
Mr.
Brown, how polite.
I’ve made some plans.
After dinner, I will take you to meet the vendor that Mr.
Gibson introduced us to.”
Once in a private room, Maya squeezed herself next to Peter.
Peter was hit by a fragrant aroma.
“Mr.
Brown, I still don’t know what kind of business you do?”
“I’m a Farmer.
I just got out of prison and haven’t done anything yet.” Peter, being a straightforward man, revealed the truth.
Maya was taken aback, then she burst into laughter.
Her breasts jiggled with the laughter, and when it subsided, said: “Mr.
Brown you’re a humorist.
You’re quite amusing!”
Peter didn’t want to explain further; nobody believed him when he told the truth.
Chatting and joking their way through dinner, Peter secretly admired Maya’s charm.
“Mr.
Brown, how about sprucing up after dinner?” Maya suggested, looking at Peter’s outfit.
“Alright, let’s get my hair styled.”
“Considering you are here to do business, I would recommend switching to a new ensemble.
What do you think?”
Peter didn’t mind since he wasn’t familiar with anything or anywhere in the city, heeded her advice as reasonable.
“Mr.
Brown, this store is pretty good.
It’s a newly opened high-end clothing store; let’s go check it out?”
Maya was speculating about Peter at this point.
She couldn’t quite figure out who he was.
She only knew that Mr.
Gibson had called her and asked her to take good care of Peter.
Looking at him though, he just looked like a farmer, and she wasn’t sure if he could afford to shop here.
After looking around, Peter quietly said.
“It’s too expensive, let’s go.”
Maya shook her head thinking to herself that Peter didn’t look like a wealthy man.
She decided to take him somewhere less expensive.
Maya smiled and said, “Alright, let’s try somewhere else.”
“Oh, these poor folks dare to go into such an extravagant store.
They really don’t know their standing!”
A salesperson who had accompanied them around the store, introducing many outfits, became displeased and started making snide remarks.
Maya, unhappy, replied, “Mind your own business.
Whether or not we want to buy anything is our business.”
“This is a high-end store.
If you don’t have money, don’t waste my time!”
Peter understood what the salesperson was saying; she was upset because they weren’t buying.
Peter was annoyed and responded, “Even if I did have money, I wouldn’t buy anything.
What are you going to do about it?”
“That’s right, even with money, we won’t buy from her.
What kind of attitude is this?”
At this point, a young man dressed in a well-pressed suit accompanied by a young woman walked over and said condescendingly, “It seems to me that this salesperson is right.
Nowadays, these farmers are popping up everywhere.
Can they even afford shopping here?”
This pissed Peter off.
He looked at the newcomer, and suddenly a passage about fortune-telling popped into his head: Diffused eyebrows, no windfall before the age of thirty.
Seeing his fate, Peter slammed his bank card on the counter and challenged, “In that case, let’s have a bet.
If the amount in your card exceeds mine, my card is yours.
If not, your card is mine.”
“Well, looks like you have guts, daring to gamble with me.
The catch is, your card must not be empty.”
“Are you scared?” Peter retorted.
“I’m not interested if it’s less than ten thousand.”
“Alright, if it’s less than ten thousand, I will walk out of here naked.”
The young man started laughing.
He wasn’t wealthy, but he had just received a transfer of fifty thousand.
Even though the money wasn’t his, he didn’t mind staking it on the gamble.
From his perspective, his opponent was just a farmer, who wouldn’t have more than a hundred thousand even if he had money.
“Well, you said it.
Everyone is my witness.
Today, I’m going to make this farmer walk out naked!”
