Chapter 431: Not For Her

"No way! I rather stay single," Diana said as she waved her hand to dismiss my idea as if it was too wild to come true.

"Bradon wants to get married next week. Everything is moving so fast, and I’m not sure how to feel..." I confessed before letting out a sigh.

"What is there to worry about? You two have been living as if you’re practically married already," Diana told me reassuringly.

"I don’t know about that..." I mumbled.

I wanted to believe in my sister’s words that everything would work out and that I shouldn’t worry. However, the truth was, I wasn’t sure how my relationship with Bradon would work out. I had always been by his side as Anthony’s stand-in wife. That meant that perhaps I didn’t quite know how things would work out between us when I became his wife without living in Anthony’s shadow.

"I’m sure that if Bradon had the guts to propose to you, he must have figured everything out already. He doesn’t seem like an irresponsible guy, although he can be quite reckless and dangerous. Then again, it’s not like you don’t already know that," Diana said before winking at me.

"Right..." I mumbled.

Bradon did mention that he had something planned. I sighed once again when I realized that the man was still as mysterious as ever and had no shared a word with me about what the future held for us or what he had planned.

"We should get working on your wedding dress! Oh, and everything else too! I’m so excited! I can’t wait for the wedding," Diana exclaimed loudly as if the idea suddenly hit her.

I could tell by her slightly flushed face that she was over-the-top excited, and there was no stopping her. Diana could become such a perfectionist when she planned out parties, so I knew that if I just want along with her everything will turn out the best.

"Bradon hired a wedding planner already so maybe you can work with them?" I suggested.

"What do they know? You need someone like me to lead this. Trust me on this. Your wedding will be so memorable! Everyone who is someone will be there!" Diana announced.

"I think you’re forgetting one very important thing," I interrupted her in a small voice.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Bradon isn’t exactly a public person. I mean, he’s supposed to keep a low profile because of, you know what..." I reminded her.

"You can’t spend your entire life hiding in the shadows as if you don’t exist, right? I mean, after you coming back and all that you’ve done to cement your place back in this place," Diana quickly countered. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"That’s for me, but for Bradon it is different..." I replied.

"Don’t worry. That man isn’t stupid, I’m sure he’s got the Ace of Spades up his sleeve," Diana replied with so much confidence.

"Aha..." I mumbled as I cocked my head slightly to the side.

I didn’t know why my sister sounded and looked so confident. I hadn’t expected for my sister to have so much faith in Bradon.

...

**A few days later**

With our wedding just around the corner, I found myself working almost around the clock with the preparations. Although there was no need for me to busy myself to that extent given that Bradon had hired a lot of professional help, I felt like I coudln’t sit still and do nothing. Diana helped out alot, probably doing more than I did and helping me to decide on the things that really mattered.

"Today, you’re having the final fitting of your wedding dress. Then, we’re visiting the wedding venue to go through with the organizers about everything. Most importantly, we need to check that the decorations fit exactly with what you have in mind," Diana briefed me as if she was my personal assistant.

From how she had been acting, it wasn’t at all far from the truth. My mind was so muddled from the preparation and lack of rest that I wasn’t sure if I was getting married or going to war.

"After that, we’re sitting down and reviewing the guest list again," Diana reminded me again.

"Isn’t the list just filled with the alias of Bradon’s men?" I asked.

"Well, not really..." Diana said before she grinned at me.

"What are you plotting?" I asked as I folded my arms over my chest.

"Just leave it to me. I’m just going to make sure that everybody that should be there is there," Diana replied, brushing off my concerns.

"A small wedding would be good," I said wistfully.

I had no idea why a wedding had to be such a public affair in the first place. I couldn’t help but recall the wedding that supposedly took place between Anthony and my sister. Everyone who was someone was there. It was such a public affair that it didn’t feel sacred at all.

"Don’t worry about anything. Just focus on your groom and just enjoy the moment," Diana advised.

I nodded my head as I decided not to argue with my sister. It felt pointless to disagree with her about every little thing considering that there was still so much to do to prepare for the wedding.

"Does Anthony know?" I asked all of a sudden.

It just occurred to me that I had not been in touch with Anthony since that incident at the hospital. I was still very worried about him despite learning that he had recovered quite well. On top of that, Bradon had told me that he had started taking over some of his duties. Anthony slowly went back to work, and he seemed to be easing pretty well back into his old usual way of life. I could only hoped that he was happier now that he was out of the hospital and had reclaimed back his life.

"I’m sure that he does. I mean, he’s about to become your brother-in-law," Diana replied.

"Right..." I mumbled.
