Chapter 376: I Miss You

"Can you please stop making that face? The world isn’t coming to an end," Diana said teasingly before she stood up from her seat and approached my side. Before I could say anything, my sister had already wrapped her arms around my shoulders and pressed her cheek against mine.

"So, do you still want an apology from me for what I did that day at the hospital?" my sister asked before letting out a giggle.

"You can save it," I mumbled in reply.

Although the result of Diana’s mischievous little plan turned my world upside down more than once, I had to admit that it made me understand Bradon better than before. On top of that, it made me realize that I needed to talk things out with him as soon as possible. The sooner I sorted out Bradon from Anthony in my past memories, the better it would be for me to understand and sort out my feelings. In response to my reply, Diana just let out a laugh before hugging me tighter than before.

...

"You don’t have to wait out here. Master Bradon will be back for dinner, so you can just wait for him inside the dining room," Zain suggested with a slightly worried look on his face.

"I’ll just wait here," I replied without any explanation.

He gave me a confused look, and for a moment, it felt like he was about to say something. In the end, it seemed that he changed his mind.

"Shall I bring you a chair so that you can sit while you wait?" Zain offered instead of persuading me to head back inside the mansion.

"There’s no need. I think he’ll be back in less than 5 minutes," I said as I kept my eyes ahead in case Bradon’s limousine would make its appearance.

"Is that what he told you?" Zain asked, and there was a hint of surprise in his tone.

"He texted," I replied confidently before flashing Zain a victorious smile.

The man looked even more surprised than before, but it seemed like he had decided to hold his tongue. The way my heart beat so fast in my chest made me realize that I was very excited and looking forward to greeting Bradon the moment he got back. We didn’t have a special dinner planned, but the fact that Bradon texted me that he would be back for dinner made me feel like something special was about to happen. Despite the many random texts he would send me during the day, I hadn’t gotten used to communicating with him so often and so casually.

The sun had not completely set yet when I spotted Bradon’s limousine in the driveway. He surely kept his promise when he told me that he would be back early for dinner. As I watched the limousine approach, I quickly got to my feet and hurried forward. Before I knew what I was doing, my body had already made up its mind to be there to greet him the moment that the limousine door would open.

"Dahlia..." Bradon murmured my name when he stepped out of the limousine to find me waiting for him.

"Welcome back," I said before smiling a little at him. It surely felt slightly embarrassing for me to be welcoming him back home. However, the smile that he returned to me made the effort all worth it.

"You could have waited inside," he said as he wrapped an arm around my waist.

I decided to wait outside for him because I wanted to see him as soon as possible, but that wasn’t something that I could tell him straightforwardly.

"Are things easing off at work? You’re coming home earlier than before," I inquired casually as we made our way into the mansion.

"Do you like it when I come home early?" Bradon asked as he came to a stop. I gazed into his face, and our eyes met. I could feel that he was waiting for my reply.

"I like it," I replied honestly. Although I felt slightly embarrassed and wanted to look away, I found myself being sucked into the depth of his beautiful eyes.

"I like coming back home early too," he said softly before his lips approached mine. He moved in so fast that I had no time to react, not that I felt the urge to resist his advances. I made a soft moaning sound in my throat when I felt the warmth of his lips on mine. His hand moved to cup the side of my face as he pressed his lips firmer against mine. We were not alone, but Bradon didn’t seem to care as he continued kissing me openly. When his tongue sought entry into my mouth, I parted my lips willingly. My surrender was rewarded with the joy and pleasure of his hot tongue exploring the depths of my mouth before entwining with mine in a passionate kiss that left me feeling slightly light-headed.

"Did you miss me?" Bradon asked the moment that his lips parted from mine.

"Yes, I missed you," I replied in a shy whisper as I looked away from his intense gaze. Bradon captured my chin between his fingertips and tilted my face up so that I was forced to meet his eyes. It probably lasted for only a split second before he kissed my lips once again. Although he had not told me with words, I could feel from the way that his lips were moving fervently against mine and the way that his arms held my body close to him that he probably missed me as well.

It was hard to believe that when I first moved into this mansion, I would also wait for Bradon to come home, although for a very different reason. Back then, Bradon came home very late or barely ever came home simply because he wanted to avoid me. At least, that was what I thought was the reason, but now I wasn’t so sure anymore. I used to wait for him to come back so that I could demand for my freedom to get out of this place.
