Chapter 121: Exchanging Rings

I felt lost in a trance as I wondered what it was that I was feeling and what was making me feel that way. The slightly cold hardness of the ring sliding along the length of my ring finger brought me back to my senses. Bradon was staring right at my face as he seemed to observe my reactions. His eyes met and held mine and I felt trapped in their beautiful blue depths. At that moment, everything surrounding us seemed to fade away and it felt like we were the only ones in our private little world. I felt the ring at the base of my finger. As if it had been custom made for me, the ring felt like a very perfect fit.

“I think it looks amazingly perfect on you, Lady Diana,” the store manager spoke up brightly.

I could almost hear the shattering sound of glass as the spell that held us together seemed to have been broken. My eyes blinked rapidly as I tore my gaze away from Bradon’s so that I could focus on the ring sitting on the base of my ring finger. The large diamond stood out against my finger and hand due to its size and radiant sparkle. When I moved my finger, the diamond sparkled as it reflected light.

“How does it feel? Is it too loose or too tight? I can get the size adjusted without a problem,” the store manager quickly offered.

“It fits. Thank you,” I replied in short.

“We’ll take this one. Also, do you happen to have some wedding band for men?” Bradon asked with an award-winning smile.

It always made me feel slightly funny inside whenever I saw that smile of his. Although I knew that it was practiced to look perfect, I couldn’t help finding it attractive. The manager seemed slightly surprised for a moment.

“I tend to misplace my rings quite often. Don’t worry, I haven’t lost the original wedding band but having a backup wouldn’t hurt,” Bradon explained casually without needing to be asked.

“Of course...” she replied.

As if to show the art of her trade and how prepared she was, she simply opened a drawer and pulled out another tray featuring simple yet classic wedding bands.

“Yellow gold bands are classic but nowadays white gold and platinum are very popular and they look more modern. What about these ones here? It would match well with what Lady Diana had chosen for her ring,” she advised professionally.

I had to agree with the choices that she narrowed down for Bradon, but she misstated that fact that I had chosen the ring for myself. After all, I didn’t choose the ring, but the price of the ring chose itself.

“What do you think? Choose one for me, Diana,” he said as he turned his attention to me.

“Umm...” I murmured while wondering why he was making me go through this.

Bradon suddenly put an arm around my waist and pulled me close to his side. I could feel his body heat against mine as he leaned his face down close to the side of my face as if he wanted to peek at the rings over my head and shoulder. I felt slightly flustered at how close he was to me but I knew that I couldn’t quite push him away. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

“Let’s go with this one,” I quickly made up my mind to get this all over and done with.

“I think that it’s a great choice. Why not try it on?” the manager suggested encouragingly.

I had a bad feeling about what was about to happen next...

“Diana...” Bradon called me while his eyes clearly told me that I should at least return the favor.

Although I wanted to come right out and tell him that this was all happening because it was his idea, I knew doing that wasn’t really an option. I could feel the manager’s eyes on us as she waited in anticipation for me to put the ring on Bradon’s ring finger. Putting the ring on his finger wasn’t supposed to be a big deal at all but I still found my heart racing in my chest.

“Ok...” I murmured while hoping to get it over with as soon as possible.

I could feel my hand shaking slightly as I took the wedding band from the store manager. Bradon had a satisfied smile on his lips as he presented to me his left hand as if he couldn’t wait for me to put a ring on him. It was so ironic how I felt, perhaps even more nervous than I felt during the wedding ceremony. Carefully, I slipped the ring onto his ring finger. I watched it slide quite smoothly to the base of his finger. Surprisingly, the ring seemed to be a perfect fit for him as well.

Now that it was over with, I let out a soft sigh of relief. Just when I thought that his teasing and playful game was over, Bradon’s hand pressed up against the small of my back and then his face was right in front of mine. My entire body stiffened in surprise before I felt the warmth and softness of his lips against mine. My heart skipped a beat as my tummy did summersaults as he continued pressing his lips firmly against mine. His sudden kiss caught me off guard while his lips wouldn’t stop moving against mine as he worked to seduce me with his kiss.

Bradon pressed my body closer to his as the tip of his tongue probed between my lips. I tried to silence my moans and whimpers when his tongue delved into the wet depths of my mouth. For a moment, I could feel myself getting lost in the pleasure and heat of our kiss. That was before I realized that we were still in the presence of the store manager.

“An...thony...” I managed to whisper against his lips.

“Hmm?” he made a questioning sound as his lips parted slightly from mine.

“Wait...don’t do this...” I told him before shooting his a warning glare.

“I’m sorry. My wife easily gets embarrassed sometimes,” Bradon said with a light laugh to brush everything off.
