It was a scene ripped straight from a nightmare.

Thousands of human soldiers clashed against an endless tide of undead warriors, their rotting bodies pouring from the heavens like a cursed rain. The battlefield was no longer a warzone—it was a slaughterhouse.

The ground was slick with blood, bodies crushed underfoot as the undead swarmed, their hollow eyes gleaming with eerie malice. Severed limbs twitched, lifeless hands clawing at the mud as if refusing to accept death. Screams of agony and despair filled the air, blending into the sickening squelch of flesh being torn apart.

Every single General of the demonic side, except for Vornyx, had arrived. They towered over the battlefield, monstrous figures wading through the carnage like executioners. The Apostles—once held back as a final line of destruction—had now been unleashed. They moved like reapers, cutting down entire squads in mere seconds.

The battlefield reeked of death. The once-fertile soil had turned black and foul, soaked in the blood of countless warriors. It no longer smelled of earth—it smelled of rotting flesh, of burning bodies, of despair so thick it clung to the lungs like poison.

The sun had long vanished, giving way to the pale moon. But there was no peace in the night.

The battlefield writhed like a living thing, shadows stretching over mounds of corpses. The dying reached for help that would never come, their voices weak, their hands trembling before they fell still.

In the distance, a human soldier let out a broken sob before a monstrous claw carved through his chest, silencing him forever.

The world was falling apart, and if the undead were not stopped here—there would be nothing left to save.

"Richard!" A cry of help from his mother changed the course of his track before the Elemental Supreme landed before her and launched a flurry of purple lightning from his staff—burning the undead General to cinder.

Turning around he found Bellarine holding an unconscious Bella. She was breathing but it was too shallow. Her complexion was worrying as well.

"Take her, and return to Earth."

"I will try...but the carrier is too far away." Bellarine cried, her eyes full of tears.

She was exhausted and on the verge of fainting as well. However, her mind was pulled together because of the concern of her daughter.

Richard decided to carry them to the carrier, when suddenly,

*STAB*

A spear stabbed his back, making Bellarine's eyes widen.

Richard was, fortunately, in his elemental form, that's why he didn't think twice before snapping the spear and holding the undead that stabbed him.

"*KHUEGH*" The undead soldier flailed while being held by its mouth.

Richard asserted force that could have broken a stone pillar before the undead's face was crumpled like paper and ceased the faint light from its eyes.

Richard dropped the lifeless corpse, its broken skull caving inward like shattered pottery. He didn't even spare it a second glance.

Bellarine trembled, clutching Bella tightly. "Richard..." Her voice cracked, fear evident in her eyes. Even if he was in his elemental form, she knew the sheer number of enemies could overwhelm him.

Richard didn't answer immediately. He rolled his shoulders, the remnants of the broken spear falling away as embers crackled across his body. His eyes burned like molten gold, rage and urgency mixing into something lethal.

"Stay close," he said, his voice low but firm.

Without another word, he bent down, scooping Bellarine and Bella into his arms. The battlefield was still an ocean of chaos, but Richard had no time to hesitate. He kicked off the ground, his flames roaring as they propelled him forward like a blazing comet.

The carrier was still far.

Too far.

And the enemy wasn't about to let them leave

Several undead dragons began following them, their pace could easily catch up to them.

Richard knew he couldn't leave without a battle, and while carrying the two dearest women in his arms, it would be difficult.

'Guess there is no-' However before he could decide to retaliate, a winged shadowy being appeared behind Richard and used his blade to send dark slashes through the air.

"*KRIEEEK*"

The dragon roared before the slashes consumed them completely.

Richard's eyes flickered as he felt the disturbance behind him. The air itself trembled as the dark slashes tore through the sky, swallowing the undead dragons in an instant. Their roars of agony were cut short as their bodies disintegrated, reduced to mere ashes that scattered into the wind.

He turned his head slightly, catching a glimpse of the figure who had intervened.

It was the strongest Demon General—Ithryx.

[Continue to march!]

He said before reeling his punch and sending several dark orbs with every strike—taking down the horde of wyvern that instantly began to group together.

Richard inwardly thanked the being before he advanced toward the airship.

Those who ambushed him mid-way were taken down by Richard and Emily also supported with her barriers.

He saw hundreds of his soldiers dead on the battlefield, and the generals on his side nearing the end of their rope.

"They won't survive like this…" Nellarine muttered in a grim voice as she clung closer to her son.

This was the first time for her to feel helpless during this war. Even with the presence of the Demon General and the Death God, it felt like an impossible battle to win.

The undead were not stopping at all and the way Atheris confidently stood, it was evident that there was a lot more she could spare.

Richard didn't say but in his heart…he was shaken up as well.

He has heard from Zulcriz that he couldn't claim their lives as well, so all Richard could do was depend on himself.

'What…should I do…' Richard muttered as he rested Nellarine on the air carrier.

"Baby…" Bellarine called out but Richard didn't turn to look at her.

He was looking down at the warzone, his eyes not remaining fixated, and continued to move.

What should he do? What can he do?

Those thoughts consumed him but before Richard could release the last thread of sanity, something appeared on the battlefield.

The five pillars of light that appeared on the battlefield were as bright as Atheris.

"Are those…" Richard muttered under his breath as he saw the deities appearing on the battlefield.

The war was drawing to its conclusion.
