Struggling as a Villain-Chapter 296 295- The final push(1)
The reason.
Zulcriz was one of the children of the Supreme One.
Supreme One—the God of creation. He is the one above all. The one who created the concept of reality and weaved so many worlds.

All the Gods across the multiverse were created by him so that they could administrate their domain.
Just like, in this world, he had five daughters who were responsible for overlooking several worlds.
These five deities were given full authority over the world and were told to do as they pleased.
Although it cannot be refuted that they were responsible rulers, a few principles they followed were simply absurd and meaningless.
They believed that the only way their world could survive and grow was when they followed the path of 'Light.'
Now, what is light? There can be several meanings of that word—purity, kindness, and selflessness. However, what they meant by the term 'light' was devotion.
Their sense of following the light means remaining devoted to the ones who are responsible for so many lives.
They believed that only by remaining loyal to them, every race can continue to grow and remain happy until they live.
Naturally, they received something in return, and that is immortality.
Those who remained loyal to their Gods lived for thousands of years, and those who couldn't, were perished from existence by these five Goddesses.
That continued for several centuries. People were happy, or so what they forced themselves to believe, and the Goddesses believed that they were in complete control over their domain.
There could be no one out there who could challenge them, considering the faith of their people was their strength.
However, that belief soon crumbled, when Death was born from the same personage who gave birth to the five Goddesses.
A being clad in darkness, and gave the sensation of facing the abyss. Bane of life.
He was also, just like the five deities, a God. Someone responsible for overlooking the realms under their command.
Naturally, the five deities couldn't ask why their father chose to add another Deity to their peaceful world. However, it was certain that with the addition of the Death God, they all were annoyed.
Zulcriz was not bound to listen to their commands nor follow their principles.
He was only handed the duty to claim the lives of the beings who were exceeding their limitation and defying the natural law of mortals.
He was the grim reaper no one asked for. However, they could do nothing to drive him away...unless the Allfather gets a reason to remove Zulcriz.
To bring that intention into reality, they devised a plan to fool the Death God. To make him fall into a trap.
Love trap.
It took some time and in that period, millions of lives were claimed by Zulcriz. Most of them were the devotees of the Goddesses. However, they tolerated it all with a smiling face.
They knew that they would win one day, and that's why they allowed their little brother to misuse his authority as much as he wanted.
...until one day, when Zulcriz went against his own principles.
Death was impartial. One has to meet their end one day. And that was what Zulcriz always believed and asserted.
However, for a single mortal, he changed his way of thinking and granted her immortality—a big mistake.
That was the day when the world saw God lose their divinity.
The day when Zulcriz lost his status as a deity.
Although the Goddesses believed that after Zulcriz's downfall, they would regain their control over their believers...it wasn't the case.
Zulcriz had already sown the seed which never allowed a mortal to become completely devoted to their Gods.
Every now and then, a question was raised, and the finger of suspicion was pointed at them.
The situation couldn't return to where they wanted it to be.
And because the mortal life reverted to where it once was, their death never stopped and Zulcriz never perished.
Rather, he only continued to gain strength passing each moment.
If the Goddesses gained strength through the devotion of their believers, Zulcriz's source of strength was the demise of the mortal lives.
He continued to grow and grow, and just when the Goddesses believed that Zulcriz would become a hindrance for them once again, they decided to give birth to an Emissary.
A being who can defeat their biggest obstacle. An entity that would overwhelm darkness with Light.
And they got the person they were looking for. A person who can withstand the blessings of all the five major deities and carry their will to put a complete full stop on Death God.
Ethan.
They believed that providing him with their powers would be enough to put down Zulcriz. However, because of lack of support and allies, Ethan was only able to seal Zulcriz, rather than defeating him.
If they had left things there, Zulcriz would have revived himself in no time, and they couldn't have found another Emissary.
That's why, they did what, as Deities, they always refrained from, due to hundreds of reasons.
Time reversal.
They spun the wheel of time and started everything again, hoping that with enough assistance and time to prepare, Ethan could finally eradicate the darkness that had been troubling the Light for so long.
However, they forgot that it wasn't just them who could create their warrior.
Zulcriz can too.
They were considering Zulcriz as their biggest hurdle, but then a certain someone entered the scene and changed various things.
Flipped the beliefs of several Apostles. Took a whole planet under his control. And even made Ethan doubt his devotion to the Goddesses.
The obstacle they never asked for.
Richard.
And now, both troublesome entities were standing before Aetheris. And rather than hunting them down, the Emissary was raising questions to her. Asking her the reason why he should go against Zulcriz.
"If you cannot do it," The sky rumbled as the Goddess of War suddenly raised her hand. A funnel in the cloud appeared, and that made Zulcriz frown.
The surface began to tremble as several presences were sensed from the skies.
Ethan and Eleanor were also cautious since whatever was about to appear, held wariness against everyone.
Aetheris brought down her hand as she muttered, "....then I will do it myself."
Everyone watched in horror as monsters began pouring down from the sky.
It was raining hell.
