Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time-Chapter 808: Peak Head’s Venting
The Peak Head did not reveal everything.
That was expected.
Many internal affairs of the sect were far beyond the authority of a disciple, even one who had obtained the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art.
Still, the man mentioned a few details casually.
Most of them were not particularly interesting to Han Yu. Discussions about allocation of resources. Some disputes between minor factions. Reports about operations outside the sect territory.
None of those mattered to him.
But then Han Yu reached the part that made his eyes narrow slightly.
"The mining operation?"
The message briefly mentioned that the higher ups of the sect were becoming frustrated with the slow progress of a certain mining project.
Han Yu immediately knew what it referred to.
'The Violet Spirit Quartz mine.'
He had been following the situation through Qing Luan and her group for some time. From their reports, the mining operation was progressing painfully slowly. But that was unavoidable.
Violet Spirit Quartz was incredibly fragile.
Any careless excavation could destroy the ore completely.
Even a small crack could render the material useless.
Because of that, the slaves working in the mine had to proceed with extreme caution.
They could not simply dig quickly like ordinary mines.
Every piece of quartz had to be extracted carefully.
The Peak Head's message continued.
Apparently the sect leadership had grown impatient with the results so far. The amount of ore extracted had been lower than their expectations. As a result, they were considering sending additional personnel to explore other sections of the mine in hopes of discovering richer deposits.
Han Yu leaned slightly against the corridor wall while thinking.
"So they're starting to get restless."
From the tone of the message, the Peak Head did not seem overly concerned.
In fact, Han Yu sensed a hint of irritation.
It felt almost as if the man was simply venting his frustration about endless meetings and administrative problems.
Still, the situation itself was important.
The Violet Spirit Quartz mine was central to Han Yu's long term plans.
He continued reading.
The message ended with a short note.
The Peak Head said that his work was still not finished, and he would remain busy for several more days.
He planned to visit Han Yu personally in about a week to check his cultivation progress.
Until then, Han Yu was instructed to remain on the Second Kidney Peak. He was not to leave the peak unless absolutely necessary. Instead he should focus entirely on cultivation.
Han Yu nodded.
That was exactly what he intended to do anyway.
Before putting the jade slip away, he sent a short reply.
He asked whether it would be possible to move his slaves Meng Jueyan, Xuan Qing, and his belongings to the Second Kidney Peak.
If the Peak Head approved it, their safety would increase significantly. But that decision ultimately belonged to the Peak Head. Han Yu closed the jade slip and placed it back into his storage pouch.
Everything seemed normal.
No new threats.
No unexpected problems.
Just the usual complicated affairs of the sect.
Satisfied, Han Yu returned to cultivation.
This time he entered the ice cultivation chamber again. The temperature inside was still brutally cold. Even after weeks of adapting to the environment, the air immediately coated his skin with frost.
Han Yu sat down in the center of the chamber.
He activated the array.
Then began circulating the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art.
Abyssal Frost Qi slowly formed inside his meridians.
Compared to the smooth and rapid progress of the Moon Conquering Divine Art, cultivating the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art was far more difficult.
Every drop of Abyssal Frost Qi required immense concentration.
Still, Han Yu continued patiently.
Eight hours passed.
After finishing that session, he moved to the blood cultivation chamber. There he resumed circulating the Moon Conquering Divine Art. The two techniques alternated throughout the day.
Ice.
Then blood.
Abyssal Frost Qi.
Then Moon Blood Qi.
Han Yu maintained this cycle consistently.
He only paused when necessary.
To eat, to rest briefly or to check messages from Qing Luan and the others.
Days turned into a week.
Slowly, his core began to change.
Han Yu observed it carefully one day while meditating. The core now resembled a gemstone.
A deep crimson ruby.
But it was not purely red.
Several black spots were embedded across the surface.
Those were the accumulations of Abyssal Frost Qi.
Between the red and black colors, faint purple light shimmered occasionally. The purple glow came from the refined Moon Blood Qi circulating within the core. The result was strangely beautiful.
A ruby core dotted with dark frost and faint lunar light.
Han Yu examined the numbers carefully. The Moon Blood Qi conversion had progressed steadily. The Abyssal Frost Qi had also increased. But the difference between the two techniques was obvious.
The Moon Conquering Divine Art refined energy far faster. The Abyssal Frost Qi still occupied only a tiny portion of the core.
Just over two percent.
Han Yu sighed slightly.
"The difference really is huge."
The Freezing Abyss Glacial Art was incredibly powerful. But it was also extremely demanding. Every step of progress required tremendous effort and patience. Even with his unique advantages, the technique advanced slowly.
Meanwhile the Moon Conquering Divine Art continued refining his Blood Qi foundation rapidly.
Still, Han Yu did not feel discouraged. If anything, he felt optimistic.
Once the conversion of his Blood Qi into Moon Blood Qi reached completion, his focus could shift entirely to cultivating Abyssal Frost Qi. At that point, the speed of the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art should increase.
More importantly, both techniques would strengthen his chances during the next major step.
The Nascent Soul breakthrough.
Han Yu already felt the call.
Deep within his soul.
A faint pressure.
A distant rumble.
The Heavenly Tribulation was waiting.
As a peak Core Condensation cultivator, he could trigger the breakthrough almost whenever he wanted.
But he had no intention of doing that yet.
Rushing into tribulation unprepared was suicide.
The Moon Conquering Divine Art alone already improved the success rate of breakthrough dramatically.
When combined with the Freezing Abyss Glacial Art, the improvement would be even greater.
Han Yu did not know exactly how much.
But he knew one thing.
The stronger his foundation became before facing Heavenly Tribulation, the better his chances would be.
He closed his eyes again.
Within his soul he could still faintly feel the distant presence of the coming tribulation.
A storm waiting beyond the horizon.
Han Yu remained calm.
He would not rush.
He would prepare.
And when the time finally came, he would face that heavenly storm fully ready.
