Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time-Chapter 297: Mine Now
Han Yu kept low to the ground, his figure barely more than a whisper of movement in the thick spiritual mist that clung to the air like fog. Just breathing casually here felt invigorating to Han Yu.
’Damn, even if I just sleep here and don’t cultivate, I feel like I would keep on growing.’ Han Yu thought.
But as much as he’d like to dream that, with the chaos of the beast rampage still raging outside, he knew he had only a limited window before someone came to re-stabilize the barrier or check for intruders.
This was the best chance he’d get.
He ducked behind another pile of ore and peered around, quickly surveying the interior of the mine chamber. The area was roughly circular—barely two hundred meters across—and seemed hastily cleared. Crystalline protrusions jutted out from the stone walls and floor, glowing softly with hues ranging from pale blue to jade white.
The central area, however, was notably empty—no doubt cleared for equipment and transport. The rest of the chamber was raw, rough stone, only partially mined. Some sections still had their spirit stone veins untouched, untouched save for the faint cuts of testing picks.
Han Yu narrowed his eyes and extended his spirit sense, but it barely penetrated five meters before it hit a wall of resistance.
’Too dense...’ he thought. The Spirit Qi saturation here was thick, cloying, almost oppressive.
This wasn’t just a random deposit.
He stepped lightly over a loose rock and moved toward one of the exposed clusters of crystal. Gently, he placed a hand over a spirit stone still embedded in the wall. It pulsed faintly under his fingers, the spiritual energy sluggish but steady.
Low-grade, definitely.
He moved to another, slightly larger piece. This one gave off a stronger response, warmer, heavier—Mid-grade.
’Huh... already finding mid-grade stones at the entrance?’ Han Yu raised an eyebrow. ’That’s rare. If this is the surface level, and they’ve only just begun excavating, then...’
He paused, the conclusion forming in his mind.
’It’s a mid-grade spirit stone mine at minimum.’
The deeper one mined, the higher the grade of stones—at least in theory. Low-grade near the surface, mid-grade deeper down, high-grade further still... and if the heavens were generous, peak-grade stones would lie at the core.
Seeing mid-grade already suggested this mine held immense value. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
He glanced toward the rear of the chamber, where a shallow tunnel curved downward into darkness. That would be the next phase of their excavation—if they hadn’t already started digging secretly.
Han Yu didn’t have time to investigate further in that direction, not yet.
Instead, he circled back toward one of the makeshift storage spots—wooden crates stacked haphazardly beside a few half-dented mining carts. Inside the boxes were uncut spirit stones, still crusted with dirt and fragments of ore. They shimmered faintly even without processing.
But it was what sat next to them that made Han Yu freeze.
Two small, tightly sealed leather pouches.
He leaned in.
No tags. No formation locks.
Spatial Storage Bags.
Han Yu’s eyes widened.
’They just left them here?’
He cautiously picked one up and tested it with a thread of Spirit Qi. It responded instantly—genuine. Its space wasn’t large, but it was bigger than the basic grade sold in the sect. A decent mid-tier storage bag by the feel of it.
Then he checked the second one—same result.
’These aren’t just for transport... they’re meant for quick access. Probably held by supervisors or mining captains.’
He glanced around. No guards inside the chamber. No patrols in sight.
’Amateurs.’
He could tell that these were probably left in a haste as the people rushed to address the situation of chaos outside. They hadn’t even had the time to secure them properly.
Without hesitation, he slipped both storage bags into his robe. His heart raced—not from guilt, but from opportunity.
One storage bag was worth a small fortune. Two? That was already more than enough to offset the cost of a few Undying Life Charm materials. And he hadn’t even counted the contents yet.
Checking inside he found them to have a few spirit stones in them.
’Were they bringing these out?’ Han Yu wondered. ’If so why didn’t they fill them to the brim?’
Feeling curious he took out the contents and saw that they weren’t just lying bare. They were kept in small boxes, with each having one to three spirit stones. Checking them closely, he realized they were of different types.
"A box of low grade, one of mid grade and one having the Ice Spirit stones... are these... Samples?" Han Yu raised his brows.
his mind quickly turned its gears and he figured it out.
’Of course! If they intend to sell these to others or even just bribe, they at least need to show the kind of merchandise they have. These are probably the samples they picked out to show to the recipients!’ Han Yu understood.
With two spatial pouches free for the taking, Han Yu knew just what he needed to do. It was the exact thing he had hoped for.
"Haha, I’m taking my ’share’." Han Yu quickly rushed to store the boxes of Spirit stones lying around.
But even after taking them there was still space left in the bags, so he direclty started to pick up the large chunks that had been mined but not broken into smaller chunks to make it easier for transport.
And just like that, he had ’earned’ a small fortune. "All mine now.’
’And that’s not even mentioning the information I’ve gathered...’
He crouched again and took a final look around. The crates, the carts, the raw veins glowing faintly in the walls. This place was just getting started. Which meant it was vulnerable.
His mind raced through possibilities. He could sabotage the tunnel, leave behind one of Li Mei’s explosive pill... or just leak the information to another power.
’No need to decide now. Get out first.’
A new explosion echoed faintly from outside—another rampaging beast, judging by the muffled screams.
