Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 744: The Battle Maniac
The two children were left standing there with wide looks of disbelief on their faces as Mik’hael finally left with Jaeral, and after a few seconds, the boy turned to the girl and asked a silly question.
"Was that Angel Mik’hael?"
The girl nodded dumbly in response, and the boy swallowed! Both children had heard about the eccentric angel and all the things he had done on the battlefield before, but they never expected that he would come up to talk to them like this! The children were both first years, and so they wouldn’t need to choose a department for at least another year. But after a meeting like this, neither of them needed to learn about any other department because they already knew exactly what departments they were going to join!
Meanwhile, Angel Mik’hael was walking through the hallway once more while whistling a jolly tune, and beside him, Jaeral simply followed along without bothering to bring up the strange detour. Jaeral had already gotten used to the eccentric nature of her master, and she knew that there was nothing that could change him since that was simply the sort of person he was! But even though Mik’hael’s intentions seemed to be pure, there were only a few people in the Primordial Expanse who knew the truth about Mik’hael’s eccentric nature.
"Ah, I hope they become strong in the future. I’d love to fight them!"
There it was! The true nature of the kindhearted man who called himself Angel Mik’hael! Unlike what most people believed, Angel Mik’hael didn’t involve himself in the lives of these young mages because he simply wanted to help them! Yes, it was true that he wanted to help them grow stronger, but the true reason for that interest was simply because Mik’hael was a battle nut who loved the idea of fighting against exceptionally strong opponents! Mik’hael was one of the mages who had been the most active during the Period of Lawlessness, and he had been such a monster during that period that the mere mention of his name was enough to instill an impossible dread in the hearts of many of the enemies of Eden! There were entire races of demons who had been wiped into extinction by Mik’hael alone, and after spending so long on the battlefield, Mik’hael had been blessed with the title of [Demon Slayer] for his efforts in cleansing this world of those evil creatures. But along with this title, Mik’hael had also developed a love for battle that was unlike anything ever seen before, and there were many times when Mik’hael would go to seek out powerful opponents to fight even after the Period of Lawlessness had ended!
Obviously, this had caused a lot of issues for the Angels, and Rak’hael had to warn Mik’hael to control his battlelust many times! And even though the warnings had worked to an extent, it was just impossible to stop someone like Mik’hael from doing anything he really wanted to do!
’If not for that battlelust of his, then he would’ve been the perfect candidate to take the mantle of Overlord of the Second Domain instead of his sister. But there’s no way Mik’hael can lead this domain. If we give him the mantle, he’ll lead us straight into another war.’
Jaeral let out another sigh at this thought. Every Angel in Eden knew that Mik’hael was the most powerful Angel alive. There wasn’t a single Primordial who didn’t fear the name of Mik’hael, and Mik’hael had even defended their world of Eden from a Primordial singlehandedly before! But Mik’hael was terrible at anything that didn’t involve his love for battle, and they had decided to give Rak’hael authority over their domain since she was also extremely powerful, and she had the attributes that a member of the Council of Nine and One needed!
After walking for a few more minutes, Mik’hael finally got to a large door at the end of a hallway, and he immediately threw it open with a wide smile!
"SISTER! I’M BACK!!!"
"MIK’HAEL, YOU IDIOT!"
Woosh!
Slam!
"OUCH!"
A massive book suddenly flew through the air and slammed into Mik’hael’s head, and Mik’hael let out a scream of pain as he was thrown to the ground by the enormous book! Jaeral entered the room after her master, and she bowed respectfully to Rak’hael and greeted her. On the other side of the room, Rak’hael was standing with her hands folded and a scowl on her face as she glared at her idiot brother, and she waited patiently for Mik’hael to get off the ground! Mik’hael picked up the massive book that was almost as large as he was, and he wondered what the hell they could possibly need to write in a book this huge! He stood up and faced his enraged sister with a sheepish smile on his face.
"Hey sis. You’re as radiant as ever."
Rak’hael’s brow twitched, and she picked up a piece of parchment on the table behind her and began to read from it.
"...we regret to inform you that we lost sight of Lord Mik’hael sometime during our expedition, and by the time we found him, he had already killed all fifteen hundred Devil worshippers from the coven we had been monitoring! Our mission will have to be put on hold until we can identify more Devil Worshippers to monitor! Mik’hael, I sent you out there to check on the mages stationed at the Devil worshipper coven! Why the hell did you kill fifteen hundred people!?"
Mik’hael scratched the back of his head with a grimace, and he just gave a simple answer.
"They were Devil worshippers. Do I need any other reason to kill them?"
Rak’hael let out a sigh, and she ran her hand down her face before she shook her head! The monitoring team had been keeping an eye on that coven for more than a year now, and they were trying to figure out where the coven was kidnapping their test subjects from so that they would stop both the kidnapping ring and the coven at the same time! But Mik’hael’s actions had set them back by months!
"Did you even read the report I gave to you? I told you we were trying to complete this mission all at once. I don’t even know why I bother. Of course, you didn’t read anything I gave you! Sigh~ You need to learn how to control yourself, Mik’hael. This isn’t the Period of Lawlessness anymore! Killing people just because of who they worship is a crime! If those Devil worshippers weren’t also sacrificial cultists, then I would’ve been forced to arrest you!"
Rak’hael looked up in exhaustion as she muttered that last part, and Mik’hael had the decency to smile sheepishly, but Rak’hael knew that she was fighting a lost battle already. This was just the sort of person Mik’hael was, and even if they wanted to change him, it wasn’t possible! The only person who had been able to rein Mik’hael in was their father, but their father had been missing for a long time now, so there was no one left to control Mik’hael. But Rak’hael knew that even though Mik’hael had made a mistake, it wasn’t so bad! The Devil worshippers that Mik’hael killed turned out to be exceptionally strong, and if Rak’hael had sent the mages to fight against those Devil worshippers, then there was no doubt that they would’ve been completely wiped out. So in a way, Mik’hael had saved the mages by fighting by himself. Rak’hael let out another sigh, and this time Mik’hael hummed curiously as he saw the tired lines on his sister’s face. Mik’hael turned to Jaeral and motioned for her to leave the room, and Jaeral bowed once more before she left and closed the door behind her. Once she was gone, Mik’hael spoke up with a raised brow.
"What’s bothering you, sister? You look exhausted."
"Huh? Do I really look that tired? If even you’re noticing it, then it must be really obvious."
"You’re my sister. Of course, I’ll notice when you’re tired. Tell me what’s wrong."
Rak’hael shrugged slightly, and she frowned for a moment as she tried to organise her thoughts properly. It took her a few seconds to decide on the best way to explain things, and then Rak’hael began to speak about everything that had happened with Jason over the past few months.
