Stronger from Earth-Chapter 46: Celestial Demon Battlefield
Beast tides are not common in the wild, unless there is a major natural disaster, which forces them to flee collectively. Clearly, this calamity is a demon disaster; the Celestial Demons that can traverse the cosmos are walking disasters at this level.
The reason Celestial Immortals and Celestial Demons have the word "celestial" in their titles is partly because they can leave the planet and survive in the vacuum of the cosmos by absorbing the free energy within it.
There were giant pythons over thirty to forty meters long, Black Bears standing seven to eight meters tall, several tons of rampaging Wild Boar Kings, and swarming ant colonies.
Wang Xuan and Leng Feng encountered many fierce beasts along the way, but no demon beasts, because demon beasts at the junior level tend to shrink in size, appearing smaller than the fierce beast stage.
It was dangerous to progress in such an environment, but fortunately, the density of beasts was not high, as they were more occupied with fleeing, thus reducing the overall threat.
A wounded fierce beast dashed through—a pack of wolves in the forest, the leaders exceptionally large, especially a Wolf King covered in white fur, with an aura more powerful than that of an Iron-Scaled Tiger; they were all fierce-beast-level creatures. Such prey was abandoned by the two; wolf packs are hard to provoke.
They also encountered a bleeding fallow deer, its eyes glinting with blood, clearly another fierce beast, constantly evolving through slaughter and consuming living creatures.
Devouring the blood and flesh of fierce beasts, and refining it into one’s energy is much faster for evolution than eating grass, albeit risks rise accordingly with fierce beasts.
"Should we take action?" Leng Feng asked.
Wang Xuan didn’t speak; he set aside his belongings, drew a long knife at his waist, and approached, confronting the three-meter-tall fallow deer.
This fierce beast was somewhat restless, its hooves stomping incessantly, suddenly lowering its head and charging with its antlers like a chariot.
With a swift leap, Wang Xuan landed on the neck of the fallow deer, swinging his massive fist, pounding repeatedly onto its head.
One punch, two punches, three punches.
After the third punch, the immense body of the fallow deer bled from all seven orifices, staggering a few steps before collapsing, lifeless shortly after.
Wang Xuan clapped his hands; his unbelievable strength, combined with a Perfect Realm Fist Technique, allowed him to kill this fierce beast in just a few strikes, formidable indeed.
Leng Feng hadn’t even reacted before the fierce-beast-level fallow deer was dead, leaving him marveling, "You’re really something! This fallow deer, though not skilled in killing, is still a fierce beast, yet you finished it in just a few punches, impressive!"
He suddenly realized that for the past few days, he seemed to do nothing but be amazed; when did he become so passive?
A fierce-beast-level elk worth two to three million naturally pales compared to an Iron-Scaled Tiger worth twenty million, as their combat powers are incomparable.
If facing an Iron-Scaled Tiger, even Wang Xuan had no confidence in surviving; such carnivores are apex predators, and even a chance encounter couldn’t elevate the fallow deer beyond its inherent weaknesses.
"Contact the transport ship to come and carry it," Wang Xuan said, packing his belongings and continuing northeast. If it weren’t for the fallow deer’s leg injury, he wouldn’t have caught up, let alone had the chance to confront it.
Along the way, the two killed five mid to low-level fierce beasts, all below Blood Exchange strength; Cultivators possessing Combat Skills have much greater combat power than beasts relying solely on brute force.
When they reached the edge of the Celestial Demon Battlefield, both were shocked by the scene before their eyes, as if witnessing a divine miracle, an indescribable sensation sent shivers down their spines and chills through their bodies. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The trees had vanished ahead, replaced by an endless expanse of soil, with no slightly elevated hills in sight, only numerous pits and depressions, evidently formed by impacts, stretching dozens of miles beyond their vision.
"Such dreadfulness, even the atom bombs of the nation’s World War II didn’t have this power, impacting a hundred miles around, causing countless deaths and injuries.
Such power rivaled a nuclear explosion of several tens of megatons, flattening a hundred miles around. High Level Cultivators truly surpass our reckoning, no wonder many Immortal Characters regard human life so lightly; ordinary people are indeed insignificant in their eyes," Leng Feng gaped in astonishment.
This was just a Celestial Immortal facing a Celestial Demon. If it were a True Immortal or even an Immortal fighting, wouldn’t it destroy the heavens and the earth, shattering a normal planet?
Wang Xuan felt the shock deeply, having encountered Earth Immortals and even higher beings yet never really comprehended their true strength.
It was only now, feeling the enormity of the gap, that he realized how immeasurable it was, needing countless opportunities, effort, and diligent cultivation to catch up.
"I have an accelerator; as long as I have enough Source Power and acquire the Cultivation Technique, I’ll catch up to them sooner than later,"
Wang Xuan was confident because, in just a month, he had advanced from the Meat Training Realm to the Peak of Bone Cultivation; such a cultivation speed was extraordinarily rapid.
In this desolate area, finding a demon beast’s corpse wasn’t easy; originally a Primeval Forest, it might become a large lake due to the topography in the future.
They searched along the border and indeed found many fierce beast carcasses, though not well preserved, and stumbled upon an extraordinary Lynx, marking a significant find.
Upon a brief examination, Wang Xuan noticed the Lynx, the size of a native dog, had astonishing bones that even his powerful strength couldn’t affect, obviously a demon beast of unknown level.
With an increasing number of Hunting Teams gathering in the area, they dragged a Black Bear three meters tall at the shoulder, hiding the Lynx in the Black Bear’s belly before leaving.
The Black Bear was massive, and even dragging it required much effort from both Wang Xuan and Leng Feng, showcasing their strength.
Stopping in a wide-open area, they awaited the transport ship; once back, their harvest would be substantial.
Having idle time, Leng Feng wandered off again, hoping luck might bring another fierce or demon beast corpse.
While guarding the Black Bear’s carcass, several Hunting Teams passed by, seeing the long drag marks and abandoning any thoughts of action, knowing Wang Xuan was stronger than the deceased Black Bear.
Resting against a tree stump, Wang Xuan found the demon-qi-filled area empty as most intelligent animals had fled, ironically making it safer than usual.
Meditating now and then, Wang Xuan paid no heed to occasional passing figures, even as they gauged each other’s strength through scrutinizing glances.
The forest still had small creatures like birds and squirrels, but large wild beasts were scarce, giving the little ones leisure.
Wang Xuan glanced upwards, spotting a Cyan Fox in a treetop cavity, its fur beautifully glistening. Noticing his presence, the Cyan Fox bared its fangs at Wang Xuan, revealing flawless, snowy white teeth, seemingly in intimidation.
This was an animal’s instinct, highly valuing safety, never underestimating threats.
Noticing the bloodstains on the Cyan Fox’s neck, Wang Xuan guessed it was likely injured during the beast tide; he had seen many such cases along the way, resulting from trampling or predator bites.
"What are you looking at? You don’t even have enough meat to interest me," Wang Xuan joked with the fox, cutting a piece of bear meat and accurately tossing it into the tree cavity.
"Take this, don’t starve," he offered.
Many injured wild animals don’t die from infection but from starvation during the Weakness Stage when they fail to catch prey.
But before long, Wang Xuan grew alert as a group approached from afar, dressed in black silk clothing, faintly exuding Evil Qi, his sharp eyes keenly noticing something amiss.
With weapon in hand and bullet chambered, these were clearly seasoned underworld bandits.
He took out his sniper rifle, carefully observing them, his expression changing drastically upon recognizing their disguised faces.
"It’s actually these bastards!"
Wang Xuan vividly remembered how Liu Lan from the Greedy Wolf Hunting Team died, and despite taking revenge by sniping the killer, it couldn’t resurrect her.
The ones responsible were this team, a highly formidable Hunting Team with an intense feud with Greedy Wolf.
Similarly, Wang Xuan had once sniped two of their members, injuring several others; they remembered him well, seeking his death eagerly.
"Bang!"
Wang Xuan’s sniper rifle roared with a thunderous sound, the bullet whizzing at high speed, passing through a tree the size of a man’s waist to hit their target directly.
