STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 626: Melinda’s advice
5th Zone, City-A
Catherine found the gazes of everyone on her. But she didn’t plan to tell them. Jessie got frustrated.
He glanced at his friends. He wanted their support. But Travis and Clint were not going to offend her.
Abigail and Sadie stopped thinking about this matter. They believed that they had met a random stranger.
There was no possibility for them to meet again. But they didn’t know Catherine had already sent people to collect intel.
If they learned about it, they would be shocked to the core. Then everyone completed their food. They paid money before leaving the place.
Meanwhile,
Jeremy was in the car’s backseat. His mood was worse. Those guys were following him again. At first, he didn’t take it seriously.
But seeing their continuous pursuit, he showed hesitation.
Buzz!
Just then, his digital device rang up. He took the device and saw the contact name. He was surprised. Then he attended the call.
The person on the other side was none other than Melinda.
"Jeremy Night, where are you?" she asked.
Hearing that, Jeremy told her that he was touring the city. She then asked about his situation, whether he was alright or not. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Jeremy Night chose not to hide it. So he answered that a couple of people had been following him ever since he left the main gate of the building.
Melinda was shocked. She immediately urged him to return. She warned him that it was not like the 10th Zone.
Jeremy Night furrowed his eyebrows. To be honest, he was not that afraid. He could take down these people.
Still, it was a new place. It was better to listen to her. Otherwise, it would create a bad impression. What if Head Harold got angry?
So he thought it was better to stop the tour. He then told the driver and asked him to stop at the Red Moon Chamber.
The name of Red Moon Chamber sent alarm bells in the driver’s mind. He had thought that the young man was a tourist.
But the organisation told by the young man was a recently developed powerful organisation. There were rumors that this organisation had another branch in the 10th Zone.
He then calmed his heart and took a U-turn in mid-air. Then he started driving towards the Red Moon Chamber.
The people following them in the car were stunned as well. They continued to follow the car. They had yet to get any answers from their higher-ups.
About 20 minutes later,
The driver dropped him in front of the main gate. Jeremy stepped out of the car. He then paid the extra amount to the driver before going towards the main gate.
The driver then saw the organisation name board. Seeing that young man walking into the gate, he immediately assumed the young man could be a descendant of a big figure.
He then left the place in the car.
Shortly afterwards,
Many cars arrived at the spot. Seeing that the target had entered the building, they reported the matter to the higher-ups.
They thought that their actions were exposed. The higher-ups thought the same as well. They immediately ordered them to stay low-key and monitor.
Since it was the first news, the higher-ups themselves were confused. They didn’t know how the Tier-8 Beast Tamer Harold Red would react.
Since it was like an internal transfer, the approval must have been done by him.
If they had misjudged his patience, then he could have targeted them directly.
On the other hand, Jeremy Night walked into the building. Before he could go to his room, he came across Melinda in the lobby itself.
"Senior," he called her immediately.
Melinda turned around and saw Jeremy Night. Her eyes flashed with anger. There were other members who were busy.
She immediately brought him outside the building. They started walking on the footpath to the massive garden behind.
"Young man, do you have a death wish?" she asked in a stern tone.
Jeremy’s face turned solemn. He was displeased internally by her tone. But he didn’t show it on his face.
Melinda saw that Jeremy Night was calm. She nodded her head and said, "Those people could be from Silver Dominion. If they had targeted you in broad daylight, what would happen?"
After saying that, she stopped and faced him.
Jeremy was still confident that he could take them down. So he thought her worry was unnecessary. But he still chose to listen to her.
"The Silver Dominion would be ready to sacrifice their pawns. The City Governors won’t dare to cause problems for them."
"If you are dead, then your death will be in vain," she said in a grave tone.
Finally, he couldn’t remain calm. His expression changed.
"Senior, how is that possible?"
"City Governors should follow the rules. Won’t they be afraid of the Human Alliance?" Jeremy asked.
"Ha...Ha...Ha...," Melinda let out a small laughter.
Jeremy couldn’t understand.
"Why do you think Governors will take action?"
"The top forces have Tier-8 Beast Tamers in their organisation. Some of the families have a Tier-9 Ancestor in their families."
"The wilderness here is dangerous. From time to time, the Tier-8 and Tier-9 Beast Tamers take action to reduce pressure on the City Governors."
"So the City Governors won’t target anyone. They would try to maintain balance and harmony among the forces. Your death won’t cause anything," Melinda said.
Hearing that, Jeremy’s eyes glinted with understanding. He thought that might was right here. The Wilderness was a major threat.
If they withdraw help during a crisis, it could cause huge problems. Now things started making sense to him.
"Do you understand?" Melinda asked.
"Now, I know why there are open murders and other crimes occurring in the city. The forces behind them are strong," Jeremy said to her.
Melinda’s eyes flickered. She didn’t expect him to deduce this far.
"You are right. There are underground organisations as well. City Governors will turn a blind eye to some of their acts. But they can’t cross the red line," she replied.
"You have to be careful of the underground organisations as well. They will do anything for money," she added.
