STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 613: Part 2: Tier-5 Green Scorpion danger looming
Wilderness
The Tier-4 Beast saw that an attack was coming. It prepared to move its pincers to grasp him and readied its stinger.
Swoosh!
As Jeremy got closer, he saw the pincers coming at him. His senses sharpened, and his eyes revealed every detail.
For a moment, the beast’s movements appeared slow. He easily evaded the pincers and reached the flank.
Cut!
The glowing white katana made an arc in mid air before slashing downward. The starlight blade struck accurately, slicing into the skin and cutting the blood vessels.
Puchak!
The next second, blood gushed out in a heavy torrent. The connection between the head and the main body was half severed.
Since the beast was massive, he needed to make one more move.
Screech!
The Tier-4 Dark Green Scorpion shrieked in pain. At the same time, the ground was dyed in blood.
As blood continued to flow freely from the gash, Jeremy used a movement method.
"Explosive Steps!"
A powerful force propelled his body forward. He returned to the flank and struck again.
Puchak!
The blade made direct contact with the remaining flesh connecting the body. The starlight blade sliced through it like butter.
Feeling no resistance, the blade swept across the remaining blood vessels. When the blade emerged from the other side, the head was completely severed.
Puchak!
As the severed part hit the ground, blood pumped out uncontrollably. The huge Tier-4 Dark Green Scorpion twitched before breathing its last breath.
After killing the beast, Jeremy shifted his gaze to the other side. He saw that the number of corrupted beasts had been considerably reduced. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
They were high in numbers to begin with, but now, holding the advantage, everyone had killed most of the scorpion beasts. However, the real problem was yet to come.
The Tier-5 Dark Green Scorpions were still hiding behind the bushes and large trees, yet to make their move.
Jeremy’s eyes flickered, and he sheathed his blade. He had fought against four beasts and killed them in the end. There were no other beasts near him, so he relaxed slightly.
The rest of the beasts were being taken care of by other Beast Tamers. Jeremy used his eye ability; he wanted to see what the Tier-5 Scorpion was doing.
Then, his eyes spotted a beast over five meters in size. It was massive. The Tier-5 Dark Green Scorpion looked menacing.
Both the pincers and the stinger were massive. The stinger, in particular, was over half a meter long and deadly sharp, lethal to both humans and Lifeline Beasts.
Especially for humans, no one could survive a hit from a stinger that size.
His eyes sharpened. He didn’t know when the Tier-5 Beast would appear. Jeremy started to scan the surroundings.
He wanted to see if other corrupted beasts were hiding. His eyesight was sharp; he could see far better than the other Beast Tamers.
If there were any corrupted beasts hiding in the distance, he would know.
Time went by.
The Captain and the veteran Beast Tamers were waiting for the Tier-5 Beast to come out. The pilots, crew members, and other passengers dealt with the remaining beasts.
But they didn’t know how long they would have to fight. Even if they finish the scorpion group, another species might attack.
The Captain’s name was Colt Hardin. He was slightly over middle age, but his flight experience was extensive.
He saw that the Tier-5 Scorpions were not ready to come out, even though it had been a few minutes since they wiped out the Tier-3 and Tier-4 groups.
He worried that the Tier-5 Scorpion beasts were waiting for orders. If they were waiting for orders, it meant that Tier-6 Beasts could be behind them.
His expression changed drastically at the thought. Not only him, but the Tier-6 veterans were also afraid of such a possibility.
If there were only one or two Tier-6 Beasts, they could handle it. But if there were more Tier-6 Beasts behind this attack, no one would survive.
Tier-6 Beasts were on a different level. Their speed and reactions were at a terrifying level. No lower-tier human Beast Tamers or Lifeline Beasts could defend against them.
There was an even more terrifying possibility: the presence of Tier-7 Beasts behind the attacks. If that were true, their deaths would come even faster.
The veterans understood the threat and the danger to their lives.
Suddenly, one of the veterans turned towards the Captain.
"Captain Colt, we should call for assistance," he said.
"Yes, the flight was following the set path. There must be a human zone at the next destination. We could come across one of the cities," an old woman added.
"Before more terrifying beasts show up, we should be ready," an old man said.
Hearing that, everyone turned towards the Captain. The pilots and the crew members looked at Captain Hardin.
Captain Hardin made a decision. He, too, knew the dangers of staying there.
He said, "Okay, first of all: Who among you has a flying type Lifeline Beast suitable for long distance travel?"
Hearing that, the Beast Tamers looked at each other.
One of the veterans raised his hand and said, "I have a Sky Eagle species on my side."
Captain Colt’s brows relaxed.
He said, "Senior, then you should take the Beast Tamers with the flying type Lifeline Beasts to the nearest city and call for assistance."
The veteran heard Captain Colt’s plan. It sounded solid. Instead of just waiting there, getting help would be far better.
He agreed to the plan. The other Beast Tamers nearby heard it as well. Both the pilots and a few crew members stepped forward.
They all had flying type Lifeline Beasts. Whether due to their aviation jobs or not, they had selected flying-type Lifeline Beasts in their childhood.
Then, the Captain turned towards the rest of the crowd and informed them in a loud voice, "Those who have flying type Lifeline Beasts, step forward!"
His words reached the rest of the Beast Tamers.
Jeremy Night raised his eyebrows.
