Mission Building:

Jeremy Night walked up to the mission counter. Before the staff could speak, he started browsing. He was looking at the available missions on the screen.

Like always, he was searching for a solo mission. Though he wanted to do a mission with Betsy Lowe and Daniel Stone, they were busy in their individual training right now.

He thought they would make suggestions if they felt there was a right time, so he started going through the missions.

It didn't take long for him to find an interesting mission. One of them caught his eye. The mission felt like a distress call to him. He opened the mission details and began to read.

The staff behind the desk remained silent. They knew that Jeremy had beaten down people before coming here, so they kept their mouths shut.

A few minutes later,

Jeremy read the whole mission description. He was able to understand the ins and outs of the mission.

"Red Rock Human Settlement," he said in his heart.

He had done a similar mission back in City C, at the Western Lake Settlement. He thought that corrupted beasts were behind this incident as well.

After giving it some thought, he decided to accept the mission because there weren't many solo missions available. The other ones didn't seem as important as this one.

Jeremy then spoke to the staff. The staff registered the mission and sent the mission details to his ID account. The nearby staff and students watched the whole process.

When the registration was done, they knew Jeremy Night might be going for the mission. It was too late to stop him from going anywhere.

Jeremy then left the mission building. On his way back to the dorm room, no one stopped him.

Meanwhile,

The news about Jeremy Night's mission had started to spread across the departments.

The First Year Departments' Head, Derek Gibson, heard the news. He was surprised that everyone was training hard to fight against him, while that kid Jeremy Night had other priorities.

He thought about stopping him as well, but this idea disappeared when he looked into his mission details. It was an investigation and rescue mission.

He knew about the situation at Red Rock Human Settlement. He hadn't expected Jeremy Night to pick this mission, as it involved the lives of many people.

He didn't want to stop him.

Similarly, the other Department Heads learned the news as well. They were taken aback. They could only sigh in their hearts. They couldn't do anything about it.

The students of the Elemental and Control Department were enraged. Their representatives had gone to the wilderness to train, but Jeremy Night was not serious at all.

They couldn't fight against Jeremy Night, but they could take out their anger on the other two STRIKER Department members. Betsy Lowe and Daniel Stone didn't know that they had attracted attention to themselves.

...

The following day,

Jeremy decided to leave after getting ready. He checked his storage ring. All the basic supplies were stored, from the basic combat uniform to the survival kit.

He then informed Instructor Jacob about the mission. Jacob had heard it last night, so his explanation became easier.

About a few minutes later,

He left the dorm building and started walking toward the entrance gate. On the way, he came across students, including some seniors. Strangely, they seemed to recognize him as well.

But he could sense hostility from them.

So far, he hadn't fought against fellow students, except the incident from the previous night had changed his mind. He wouldn't be surprised if there were more similar incidents in the future.

Shortly afterward,

He entered the aircab and left Central University 14. The cab driver was driving toward the City Gate while Jeremy fell into deep contemplation.

There was no clue whatsoever regarding this mission. He thought he would be among the first to investigate the disappearance of the mercenaries.

About 20 minutes later,

The driver dropped him at the City Gate. Jeremy then showed his ID card before leaving the City Gate and entering the wilderness.

He looked around and found there were four-wheeled vehicles ready to take people to the nearby human settlements.

Jeremy went to talk to the drivers. When he inquired about the Red Rock Human Settlement, the drivers were all surprised.

"Kid, who are you?"

"Why are you going to the human settlement?"

One by one, the drivers asked their questions. Who didn't know about the dire situation at the Red Rock Settlement?

Jeremy was taken aback by their reactions, but he still explained himself. After they learned he was going there for a mission, their reactions changed.

"So you are a Central University student!"

"I'll take you to our human settlement," one of the middle-aged men said.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night was not surprised. From their questioning, he understood that they were from the Red Rock Human Settlement.

He then hopped inside his vehicle.

Swoosh!

The four-wheeled vehicle began moving toward the destination.

About 30 minutes later,

The vehicle arrived at the base camp. The walls of the base camp were lower than those of City A. The population of the Red Rock base camp was low, and the area was smaller than that of City A.

The driver dropped him at the entrance. Jeremy knew that every human settlement had someone from the City Administration.

He would like to meet the person who posted the mission.

Jeremy entered the Red Rock Base Camp. He was immediately greeted by narrow streets and congested buildings.

Jeremy's eyes wandered around the street. He saw people of all ages and then asked someone about the representative's office.

He started walking along the straight path. At the end of the path, there was a double-storey building. Jeremy saw the name plaque.

The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.

Seeing that it was the government office, he walked in to inquire about the details. There were staff inside. Jeremy didn't waste any time. He immediately stated the purpose of his visit.

The staff knew about the mercenary group's disappearance. They were among the representatives who had raised the issue with the City Administration and the Beast Taming Association.
