Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 87: Biological Parents
[Two Days Later]
"Yes, I will take Callum with me. Don’t worry," Rivana assured Azrael over the phone. Sitting on the bed, she sighed softly, not wanting to end the call.
"When will you come back?" she asked, her voice betraying the longing she felt. Unfortunately, the situation back in Draxton hadn’t been resolved, and Ezekiel still needed Azrael’s presence. He had left immediately, and though it had only been a day, she found herself missing him terribly.
"Soon. We’ll return together," Azrael replied firmly. Ezekiel also intended to settle the matter as quickly as possible and return to Rivana. He had already appointed his right hand as the interim in charge, someone who could make decisions on his behalf. Enora would be joining them as well, eliminating the need for any back-and-forth travel.
Before Rivana could respond, her phone buzzed with an incoming call. Seeing Leonora’s name, she ended her conversation with Azrael. "I’ll call once the results are out," she said softly. At his hum, she ended the call and dialed her best friend.
"How long are you planning to hide from me?" Rivana asked in frustration. For the past two days, Leonora had been avoiding her, ever since she heard Callum would be sticking around.
"I’m just busy signing with new brands!" Leonora replied defensively, though it wasn’t entirely false. "Are your results out yet?" she asked, steering the conversation away from herself.
"Hmm. Callum will bring them to the Faye Mansion," Rivana replied. "I’m leaving now."
"Alright. I’ll be there too," Leonora said, and they ended the call.
Rivana glanced at herself in the mirror one last time, adjusting her hair neatly before heading downstairs.
"Madam, you should have breakfast," Butler George said, his tone tinged with concern.
"I’ll have brunch at the office. Don’t worry, George," Rivana assured him with a small smile. She hurried out of the mansion. George stared at her retreating figure and sighed. His Elder Master wouldn’t be pleased to know she was skipping meals again under his watch.
The drive to the Faye Mansion was long. Rivana sat quietly in the car, her thoughts consumed by the DNA test results. There was a bouncer in the shotgun seat, accompanying her as per Callum’s strict orders. Ever since the attack where her car was set on fire, they had been extra vigilant. The Dynars’ enemies had been involved in that incident, having set their eye on her and they were far more dangerous than any of the Fayes or Hugons Rivana had dealt with so far.
As the mansion loomed closer, Rivana’s nerves began to stir. If the results showed she wasn’t Amerie’s daughter, she would have to start searching for her real mother—and possibly even her real father, if Emmerich wasn’t him. But if the results confirmed she was Amerie’s daughter, it would lead them to a frustrating dead end. She would have no new clues to uncover how Roselia was linked to the Faye family—or her connection to Roselia if one existed.
Arriving at the gates, Rivana noticed the increased security. Guards patrolled the gates, the gardens, and the entire mansion. It made her realize just how much power the Dynars wielded, even in a different city out of their territory.
Dante greeted her warmly as soon as she stepped out of the car. "Callum hasn’t arrived yet, but they’ve left the hospital," he informed her.
Rivana nodded and walked inside, her eyes sweeping the room. The gathered family members were waiting, their expressions angry and accusing. It was clear they would tear her apart if given the chance.
Leonora, who had arrived earlier, greeted Rivana with a bright smile. "They’re all salty," she murmured, her gaze flicking to Gianna, who kept complaining loudly about being kept housebound.
"You have a problem with your mother!" Gianna barked at Rivana. Glaring pointedly at Amerie, she added, "You should house arrest her, not us!"
"A few more minutes, and you’ll all be free to walk out," Rivana replied coolly. Her gaze shifted to Rubina, who sat beside Rafaelo. With a pointed look, she added, "I’ll gladly throw some of you out."
Amerie bristled, visibly holding herself back from lashing out. She had tried everything over the past two days, but Callum’s men had been relentless. They guarded the family like grim reapers overseeing damned souls, locking them in and shadowing their every move. There was nothing she could do except fret about the consequences of the results.
Butler Chase entered the room, having heard of Rivana’s arrival. Even that woman couldn’t clear this mess—Azrael’s men had ensured the hospital and laboratory were guarded as though they were national treasures. Despite attempts to alter the samples, nothing had worked. They were left with no choice but to accept their fate.
Everyone waited anxiously for Callum’s arrival, the tension in the room was palpable. Amerie fidgeted nervously, sweating despite the cold air. After what felt like an eternity, Callum finally arrived with a doctor by his side.
Everyone rose from their seats as Rivana walked forward, her eyes locking onto the report files in the doctor’s hands. Callum’s expression was grim, making her stomach twist uneasily.
"You all better get ready to explain things," Callum warned, his sharp gaze directed at the Faye family—especially Gianna and Amerie.
Gianna remained unfazed, her confidence visible. Glancing at Amerie, who was practically trembling, she smirked. It would be amusing to see her get finally exposed today.
The doctor stepped forward, opening the file. Her voice was calm but firm as she began, "Rafaelo is Gianna’s son. Their DNA matched." She paused before turning to Rubina. "But Rubina is not Gianna’s daughter."
The doctor shifted her attention to Amerie. "Amerie is Rubina’s biological mother," she said, her voice steady. "The DNA match showed a 99.8% probability, confirming the relationship."
Rivana stepped forward, her heart pounding. "What about me?" she asked.
The doctor hesitated for a moment before delivering the shocking news. "Your DNA doesn’t match with either of them," she announced.
The room fell into stunned silence. Shock rippled through the crowd, and the staff exchanged uneasy glances. Butler Chase sighed heavily, steeling himself for what was to come.
"Does that mean she doesn’t belong to our family?" Rafaelo, who hadn’t spoken in days, suddenly asked, his voice breaking the silence.
The doctor looked at him calmly. "We could only confirm it if Mr. Emmerich Faye were alive," she explained. "But it is clear that neither of these women is biologically related to her. Judging by their reactions, it seems as though they already knew."
Everyone’s eyes turned to the two women in question, but neither Amerie nor Gianna made any effort to speak or acknowledge the damning revelations. Their silence only deepened the tension.
"Speak something! Will you?" Leonora barked at them, her frustration boiling over. But when the woman stayed silent, she scoffed, throwing her hands up in disbelief. "So, all these years, you’ve used Rivana knowing she didn’t even belong to this family? You two are disgusting," she snapped.
Rivana stood motionless, observing the unfolding scene. Strangely, she wasn’t as overwhelmed with sadness as she expected to be. In the past, learning something like this would have shattered her, leaving her heartbroken. But now, it didn’t hurt as much. Instead, she felt a deep sense of disappointment. She had spent so many years trying to forgive Amerie, convincing herself that her coldness stemmed from some motherly frustration. But it was all a waste of time and effort.
What troubled her most, however, wasn’t Amerie or Gianna—it was the void of not knowing who her real parents were. Were they alive? Why hadn’t they looked for her all these years? Had they abandoned her, or was there something more to her story?
"Where is my mother?" Rivana asked Amerie, her voice calm yet piercing.
Amerie stared at her briefly before sinking into the sofa, her expression indifferent as she replied nonchalantly, "I don’t know."
"This bitch!" Leonora growled, taking a step forward, ready to beat the truth out of her. But Callum stepped in, holding her wrist firmly and shaking his head. Leonora yanked her hand away from his grasp and backed off with a frustrated huff.
"Since you are not related to the Faye family, maybe we can fight in court for the succession," Gianna interjected, her tone icy yet calculating. For years, she had stayed silent because revealing the secret meant Rafaelo might lose everything. That was the strict condition of Margaret and Emmerich! But now, with both of them gone, she could finally get a hold of Faye’s wealth!
"But we also don’t know who Rubina’s and Rafaelo’s biological fathers are, Ms. Faye," Callum said, his sharp words cutting through the air like a dagger. He glanced at the blind woman sitting silently in her chair, her expression blank. "You might have a proof for Rafaelo, but what about Rubina?"
"I have proof too!" Amerie shot back, her response immediate and defensive. "I already had Emmerich’s and her DNA tested years ago!" she added, her voice loud and confident. Rivana’s secret was like a ticking time bomb, one that could destroy her the moment the truth was revealed. So, she had gotten paternity tests long ago, while also using Rivana over the years.
"Who are my parents?" Rivana demanded again, her patience thinning with every passing second. Her voice trembled, but it wasn’t fear—it was anger. Anger at how none of them cared about her feelings, how all they seemed interested in was money and status.
"I don’t know," Amerie replied flatly, repeating the words that had already enraged the room.
Leonora clenched her fists, barely restraining herself from lunging at the woman. Callum’s presence stopped her from acting impulsively, but her frustration was evident. "Do something!" she barked at him, her voice echoing in the tense atmosphere.
Callum sighed, having no other options. He took out the gun from his holster and walked toward Rubina. Everyone backed off in horror, panic etching their faces at the sight of the gun.
Callum grabbed Rubina roughly and forced her to stand up. "Ahhh!" Rubina shrieked in terror. A shiver ran down her spine as Callum the gun pressing against her temple. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Leave her!" Amerie took a step forward, her eyes wide in fear. But Callum pressed the gun harder, breaking Rubina into cries.
"She is the root cause of all this drama. So, let’s just get rid of her." Callum declared, his voice echoing in the horrified silent room.
"No! No!" Amerie shook her hands, panic etched on her face. When Callum placed his finger on the triggered, she complied, "Leave her please! I will tell you everything!"
