Chapter 488: Chapter 489: A Difficult Choice 3

This woman really loves watching TV dramas, and her daughter should be asleep by now.

He hadn’t seen her and her daughter for several days, and he missed them deeply.

He longed to go up and knock on the door right away, but he couldn’t.

He couldn’t give her happiness anymore; he had to be responsible for Song Yi.

He had promised her to keep his distance and not overstep the boundaries.

Leaning against a tree, he began to smoke heavily, and soon a small pile of half-smoked cigarette butts accumulated on the ground.

He stared unblinkingly at the cozy little home until the lights went out, and only then did he close his eyes.

He stayed until the early morning light before leaving. He didn’t return to the villa but went straight to work.

Upon entering the office, he went to the restroom to take a shower and change clothes before starting his work.

The restroom had his toiletry items and a few changes of clothes.

They were all prepared for his usual overtime work.

Song Yi got up in the morning, picked up her phone, and saw some photos sent from an unknown number. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

They were pictures of Huo Shaohua drinking at a bar, looking desolate, depressed, and in pain.

Song Yi immediately deleted them after seeing them. Was he in pain?

She was in pain too, perfectly matched! She wouldn’t feel sorry for him anymore.

She put down her phone nonchalantly and went to the bathroom to freshen up. She had to go to the old mansion later.

Last night, her grandmother said that she had to come to the old mansion every day for meals since she was pregnant.

The cook at the old mansion would prepare nutritious meals for her to nourish her body.

Could it be that grandma had truly accepted her? No matter what grandma’s intentions were, she had to go to the old mansion.

Once the bow is drawn, there’s no turning back; she could only brace herself and move forward.

She went to the old mansion for breakfast, and then her grandmother went for a walk.

Someone arranged a room for Song Yi to rest, but her grandmother’s attitude toward her remained cold.

Song Yi followed her grandmother’s arrangement and went to the room to rest.

She used to be quite afraid of staying at the old mansion, but now she could only feel at ease there.

Only at the old mansion could she feel like they hadn’t broken up.

He hadn’t changed his heart, and they were still as good as before.

She also ridiculed herself in her heart; what she once scorned, she now desperately fought for.

It was truly laughable; life changes so unpredictably.

In the afternoon, Hu Yuxi came to the flower shop to see Tian Xingyun.

He had been very busy these past few days and had wanted to visit her but hadn’t had the time.

He was holding gifts for Tianxin and her favorite foods.

As he entered the shop, he was greeted by a faint scent of flowers, which felt relaxing and comfortable.

"Where are the people?" He scanned the shop and found no one inside.

"Here," Tian Xingyun’s voice came from upstairs, followed by the sound of her footsteps on the stairs.

Seeing Hu Yuxi, she was a bit surprised and smiled, asking, "How do you have the time to come by?"

"I came to see you; it’s been a long time since I saw you," Hu Yuxi looked at her, speaking very earnestly.

"Sit down." Tian Xingyun, feeling uneasy, avoided his gaze and walked toward the sofa.

"Is Tianxin asleep? Why is the shop empty?" Hu Yuxi sat down on the sofa and placed the items on the coffee table.

"She’s asleep. Ping has the day off, and Aunt Liu went back to the old mansion," Tian Xingyun said, her eyes showing a hint of sadness as she mentioned the old mansion, her smile a bit bitter.

Grandma had called Aunt Liu back to the old mansion to take care of Song Yi. Aunt Liu wouldn’t be coming to stay with them anymore.

Now Song Yi was the most important person to the Huo Family because she was carrying his child.

He must be very happy, finally having a child with the woman he loved.

"I brought you some delicious food," Hu Yuxi changed the subject, opening the bag on the coffee table to show her.

He, of course, had no clue about what was happening at the old mansion, nor could he guess the purpose behind grandma’s actions.

His cousin hadn’t clearly expressed his stance on how to handle the situation with Song Yi either.
