Steampunk: Sixth Era Epic-Chapter 382 The Astonishing Truth
Miss Feliana's power protected the eyes of the trio from harm. Amid the three extreme glimmers, the giant tree behind them trembled slightly.
Two golden light points appeared at the base of the tree roots, and two more at a parallel height in the canopy. The four light points connected sequentially to form a square frame, with vines entwining the light and white lightning sparkling— a massive golden Light Gate appeared in front of the giant tree.
This was the true form of the Old God "Blazar Gate" when manifesting in the material world.
Shard noticed a white mist forming around him, and within the thickening fog, a transparent, gigantic tree loomed, barely visible.
The tree seemed to connect heaven and earth, with extensive roots and a lush canopy, its patterns seemingly narrating the entire world's story.
This was the silhouette of the Father of the Infinite Tree. Their mission had ended, and Shard felt a force pulling him backwards—he was about to return.
"Miss Feliana, Miss Orland, may we meet again in the river of time. Thank you for your teachings."
He bowed slightly, speaking swiftly,
"I'm truly glad to have known you!"
"Shard, may your journey ahead be safe,"
The Moon Witch seemed to muster a lot of courage, reached out to hug him, but realized that Shard had become a phantom, the leaf in his hand floating to the ground with the night wind.

"Shard, may you never be consumed by darkness."
Miss Feliana also shouted loudly,
"If possible, if I can still remember you after leaving the Forest of Thousand Trees, I will definitely leave a gift for you. When you hear about me in your Era, you will surely receive it! And be careful of the merfolk, their magic potion isn't easy to handle, their weakness is fishing rods!"
Although she couldn't see the mist, she sensed a sudden great force. The other deity present clearly "saw" what Shard was experiencing:
"So, you are also a caretaker of the Tree Father."
Shard, enduring the pain in his eyes, looked up at the golden Light Gate that had unfolded:
"You must know about the 'Time Key'. So, why is there no key to the Sixth Era!"
This was a sudden question from Shard, his body retreating, the figures of the two witches already blurring, Miss Feliana and the Moon Witch waving farewell to him.
If Shard guessed right, this was a final goodbye.
"Because..."
The white fog completely enveloped Shard.
"...strictly speaking..."
But the latter half of the sentence still penetrated the boundaries of time to reach his ears:
"...the point in time you exist in..."
In the depths of the white mist, on the transparent giant tree, two green leaves naturally fell and drifted toward Shard, a reward for the mission.
"...is not at all..."
He, clutching a notebook and storybook, stumbled out of the bedroom door, startling a peeking orange cat.
"...the Sixth Era."
The lingering sound continually echoed in Shard's ears, vibrating his soul, trembling his spirit:
"In the dark forest, deities accompany each other. The tree bestowed upon the princess tasks and power, while the gate bestowed upon you knowledge."
"Outlander, you have listened to the Old God 'Blazar Gate's story, you have learned of the Old God 'Blazar Gate's miracle."
Shard stood there, the Ring of Fate automatically manifesting behind him. Golden Light Traces spun rapidly with the ring, engraving golden specks in the white steam behind him. The Spiritual Light flickered, and the cat looked up, dazedly watching those glimmers. This was the power of miracles, and the wisdom of the soul knowing secrets from the tales of the Old God.
[Outlander, you have inscribed the Golden Miracle Soul Rune - Kiss of the Tree.]
Shard had no time to attend to that. He stood in his empty house, frowning and hesitantly asked someone:
"Is it not the Sixth Era now?"
That almost overturned all facts.
She of course did not answer that question:
[Outlander, you have returned to the present time.]
[Message from the Ancient God "Father of the Infinite Tree":]
"What?"
[Infinite time protects you.]
Shard tilted his head and thought for a moment while feeling something moving around his trouser leg. Looking down, he saw a small orange cat making a leap, wanting him to pick it up.
Clutching two leaves in his hand, Shard bent down, picked up the cat, and walked to the living room window. Opening the window, he took deep breaths of the misty air outside. It was three minutes past midnight. On Saint Delan Square outside the window, only two officers patrolling with kerosene lamps passed by under the dimly yellow streetlamps.
The night was tranquil. All was well.
"Is it not the Sixth Era now?"
He asked softly again. This was him talking to himself.

Then he used the Arcane Technique [Perception of Time], perceiving time as usual—
Sixth Era: Common Calendar 1853, Month of Blossoms, the fifth day of morning, zero hours and three minutes.
"There's no problem... The deity should not deceive me."
The cat, in his arms, blinked and rubbed its cheek against him.
"But He said, strictly speaking, it is not the Sixth Era now, so there is no key to the past time of the Sixth Era.... Strictly speaking... That means, not strictly speaking, it is the Sixth Era now."
Mia extended a small paw, trying to fiddle with the other hand Shard had clenched. Shard then placed the cat temporarily on the windowsill and brought one of the leaves in front of his eyes.
His eyes glimmered slightly as he traced the veins of the leaf. The golden Miracle Element moved from the leaf, through his eyes, into Shard's soul. The spellcasting-free Arcane Technique - [Spatial Stabilization Aura], whose effect was as straightforward as its name, stabilized the space around Shard, making it solid.
The most basic usage, when Shard used [Lagre's Leap], starting the [Spatial Stabilization Aura] meant the stable space would decrease the chances of him attracting strange things. With the enhancement of the "Divine Afterglow," it was equivalent to using it every ten seconds or so, to avoid attracting any bizarre entities.
To pinpoint the exact intervals, he would have to try that himself, since the "Father of the Infinite Tree" hadn't provided him with a manual.
But this was enough, and the value of the Arcane Technique [Lagre's Leap] greatly increased, even becoming one of Shard's most important arcane skills.
Of course, only because Shard possessed space-leaping arcane techniques did the [Spatial Stabilization Aura] have such an effect.
And the true function of the [Spatial Stabilization Aura] was actually to stabilize the surrounding space, prohibiting all abnormal spatial phenomena. For instance, once the arcane technique was activated, no one but Shard could use space-related abilities within its range until his spirit was completely drained. And were Shard powerful enough, he could even block the effect of the Angel-Level (1st Level) Relic [Tattered Old World Map] that caused the material world's continental shelf to split.
Just like the [Blade of Chaotic Time], [Spatial Stabilization Aura] was an unheard-of arcane technique.
"The ancient deity of time actually gave me the power of space..."
Shard murmured. He believed he had grasped the most basic situation of the world, yet there was still so much unknown waiting for him.
Thinking of the two witches he might never meet again in this lifetime, Shard looked out at the night.
Under the tranquil Tobesk night sky marked by gas streetlamps outlining the city's silhouette, it was not clear who sighed, echoing long under the endless night.
