Starting with Proficiency Panel-Chapter 764: See the Tomorrow (New Book Content)
Zhuang Xu's slightly blood-red eyes revealed a hint of a bloodthirsty smile. Yes, even though his entire face was hidden under a dark hood, making it hard to see clearly, Li Qing could indeed feel an emotion emanating from the other.
He eagerly anticipated encountering 'bad students' who broke such rules.
Everything about this place exuded strangeness.
As the fifteen people fell silent, Zhuang Xu spoke softly, "If you don't come out soon, you will regret it when I catch you later."
Li Qing silently stepped out from the crowd, facing the various emotions in the students' eyes, trying to maintain a calm voice.
"I am the one."
The stationary Zhuang Xu finally moved. He slowly walked up to Li Qing, and only then did Li Qing realize how tall the other was, at least two and a half meters. Very thin, but with an extremely large frame, giving off a strong sense of oppression.
Zhuang Xu showed an intrigued look, walking in a circle around Li Qing.
"Not bad, not bad, it seems you have already awakened your talent."
"Talent?" Li Qing was taken aback, somewhat puzzled.
"Haven't you been using the Fireball Technique as part of your meditation practice?"
"...If that counts as talent, I have no words to say."
Li Qing felt a slight stomach ache. Even though this Gray Magic Academy exuded eeriness everywhere, it always seemed a bit off.
"I see, so this is the talent a human gains when they transition to a mage at the age of thirty."
"What exactly is rubbing a fireball? Is it the Fireball Technique in the orthodox magic system? Is that considered talent?" someone sneered.
"Heh, a creature like you cannot comprehend just how terrifying a talent a human can have when they awaken a magic staff, but then again, it's just a human, a mere human..."
"If only I could take over his body."
"Looks quite tasty."
The various sinister whispers continually flowed into Li Qing's ears, making his body tense and his heart pound intensely.
These 'people' were definitely not human. Could there be so many non-human entities on Earth?
Zhuang Xu seemed oblivious, turning with an odd smile to face the fifteen individuals. He raised his hands, revealing a pair of sharp green-black hands.
With a slight rub of his palms, a dozen or so badge-like items appeared from his wide palms.
Then, with a light shake of his hands, these badges floated gently in front of each of them.
"These are your school emblems, the credentials for entering Gray Magic Academy, conduct the binding. Preferably, a soul binding."
Zhuang Xu cast an intentional glance at Li Qing and continued, "Hmm... just focus your attention on the emblem. As long as you can meditate out a beam of light, that's enough. This is your initial assessment before enrollment."
Seeing everyone reaching out to receive theirs, Li Qing then extended his hand to grasp the emblem, examining it closely.
Watching Li Qing handle it so cautiously, Zhuang Xu chuckled lightly.
Once everyone activated and bound their emblems, the spiritual fluctuations that emerged varied in strength.
"Also, follow the emblem's guidance to your respective safe rooms. Classes start at dawn tomorrow morning, don't be late, or the consequences will be at your own risk."
Gazing at the brass-colored emblem, engraved with 'Gray Magic Academy Student ID' in magic script, Li Qing focused his thoughts, careful not to draw too many beams of light from his mind.
Earlier, Li Qing had caught onto Zhuang Xu's words; binding the emblem did not require much power.
Fixing his gaze on the emblem, he gently nudged a line in the faintly glowing ball of light in his mind. Immediately, the magic rune hidden on the emblem faintly emerged, and after slightly twisting a few characters, the emblem vanished from his hand.
In its place appeared a complex talisman on his wrist, like a black tattoo, emanating an evil aura in Li Qing's eyes.
At the same time, additional information appeared in his mind, serving as the emblem's guiding function.
His gaze felt as if something was luring him in, with a great force, causing a bit of pain, as if something was delving deeply into him.
Li Qing retracted his gaze, lowering his hand.
Upon raising his head again, Zhuang Xu had already disappeared, as if his task was merely to distribute the emblems for the individuals, and then it was considered complete.
"Safe room..."
These three words conveyed a particularly terrifying implication – indicating that areas outside of the safe rooms were filled with danger.
Watching the other students disperse, guided by the emblems to their safe rooms, Li Qing was about to move when a soft, sweet female voice suddenly called from beside him.
"Human, what is your name?"
Turning back to look, Li Qing saw it was Anna, seemingly a tentacle monster, with those eyes under her hood resembling blood-red gems, staring directly at him.
Li Qing remained silent, or perhaps he simply didn't want to answer Anna's question. In this magic academy, the only thing he could do was to stay silent, quietly observing everything until he understood it all thoroughly.
Only then would Li Qing be entitled to do what he wanted to do.
Seeing Li Qing staying silent, a faint red glow emitted from Anna's blood-red gem-like eyes.
Numerous whispers instantly filled Li Qing's ears, as if countless evil ghosts were whispering, tempting him to lose his sanity, turning him into a walking corpse.
The next moment, Li Qing felt faint magic rune marks appear on his black robe uniform, followed by a faint black aura emanating from the robe, circling around him.
He suddenly awoke, and those devilish voices began to fade rapidly until they disappeared.
"Damn!!!"
Anna growled, her voice deep and hoarse, like a ghost from the abyss roaring, nothing like the soft voice from before.
Her voice was ferocious, her eyes bloodthirsty.
Li Qing took a barely noticeable step backward, clenching his fists tightly, feigning nonchalance as he went past Anna, following the emblem's guidance to his safe room.
"One more thing..."
Zhuang Xu's soft voice suddenly came through: "Here, never reveal your true name, as it might bring disaster to you and the world behind you."
Li Qing's heart trembled, a great fear spreading in his chest. Yet, with his strong psyche, he kept himself from stopping, quickly leaving.
Zhuang Xu was always observant of the situation here, his belated reminder revealing his intentions.
No one here had good intentions.
The other students had already quickly left, leaving only Anna standing, her chest heavily moving, countless eyes under her hood fixedly watching as Li Qing vanished from her sight.
Standing nearby, Jes commented with a teasing tone, "Anna, sometimes humans aren't as easy to bully as you think..."
