Starting Sign-In from a Billionaire God-Chapter 704
What goes around, comes around!
The security guard snatched the delivery worker’s keys, so Lin Fan snatched the keys from them. This made the security guards very unhappy; they were having fun, but Lin Fan totally spoiled it.
Seeing Lin Fan in his cheap street market clothes, they didn’t take him seriously. A poor kid dares to meddle in their business?
"Kid, I advise you not to meddle. Just give the keys back to us!" the security guard leader said sternly.
Lin Fan smiled and said, "Come and grab them. If you can, they’re yours."
The security guards looked at the leader to see what he would decide.
Of course, the leader couldn’t lose face in front of his subordinates and strode towards Lin Fan, reaching out to grab the keys.
Lin Fan simply moved casually, and the leader missed the grab several times, getting more furious. Not being able to snatch the keys in front of his subordinates was too embarrassing. Where’s the authority in that?
"Catch this kid, I refuse to believe we can’t get the keys!"
The leader shouted angrily.
The security guards all rushed forward, trying to restrain Lin Fan, two guards holding down Lin Fan’s shoulders while others surrounded him to prevent escape.
Lin Fan clenched the keys in his hand and chuckled, "Holding me down is useless. The keys are still in my hand. If you can pry my hand open, they’re yours."
The leader chuckled coldly and came forward to try prying Lin Fan’s hand open.
But he used all his strength, his face turning red, and still couldn’t budge Lin Fan’s hand one bit!
Lin Fan mocked, "What’s wrong, didn’t eat? How can such weak strength make you a security guard?"
The leader felt humiliated, unable to get the keys back for so long.
Furious and ashamed, he drew a baton from his waist angrily, "You brat, will you let go or not?"
Lin Fan chuckled and said, "So you want to hit me, huh? You started this, so don’t blame me."
"What, you want to hit me?" Lin Fan said, suddenly yelling loudly, "Oh no! Security guards are going to hit someone! Help!"
This shout drew the attention of nearby bystanders, who started pointing and talking.
"What’s going on?" Seeing the leader’s fierce expression, bystanders were shocked.
Seeing this, the leader dared not proceed and quickly put the baton away.
"Kid, what do you want?" the leader asked, suppressing his anger.
Lin Fan chuckled and said, "Shouldn’t I be asking you that? You took the delivery guy’s keys and won’t let him deliver; what are you trying to do?"
The leader snorted coldly, "Our mall has regulations—no parking in this area. We have designated parking spots, and he didn’t park there. He parked here, so we can impound his vehicle according to regulations! I haven’t taken his vehicle; just wanted to teach him a lesson, that’s already being considerate. What can he do about it!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Lin Fan said, "Then I think you’d be better off impounding his vehicle. This play is too insulting. Why bully people like that?"
The leader said, "Can you blame us? These delivery workers park anywhere, making it a pain to manage. We got too fed up and went this far!"
Lin Fan turned to the delivery worker and said, "He said you parked willy-nilly. What do you have to say?"
The delivery worker said, "I really have no choice. The mall is so big, and they don’t allow vehicles inside; they can only park outside. But it’s too far. We park over there and still have to walk a long way to get into the mall. And the mall has so many entrances, but they don’t allow us to enter, making us go around through the employee passage. Sometimes, if the order time is long, it’s okay to walk slowly, but for urgent orders, even running can’t make it. Clearly, they’re giving us a hard time."
The delivery worker explained that, under normal circumstances, he would follow the mall’s rules, parking in designated areas and entering through the employee passage. Today, the order was about to be late, and the customer kept pushing the order, threatening to leave a bad review if it was late. In a rush, he parked here.
And he parked away from the passage, not blocking pedestrian traffic. He thought it would be fine, but ended up in this situation.
Lin Fan truly understood the delivery worker’s struggles.
He used to be a delivery worker too, suffering from mall rules.
Some malls are considerate of delivery workers, designating parking areas beside entrances and allowing all entry points access. This way, delivery workers can quickly complete deliveries by entering from nearby entrances as needed.
But some malls are pretentious, setting various restrictions for delivery workers. Typically, they don’t allow delivery vehicles onto the plaza and don’t allow delivery workers through entrances, forcing them to use employee passages.
Moreover, these pretentious malls are often large shopping centers. More space means more walking. Delivery workers park outside, enter through employee passages, then find the merchant inside and return, wasting time and breaking their legs.
Lin Fan used to fear taking orders from large malls—exhausting physically, and feeling stripped of dignity, facing security guards’ disdain, feeling singled out.
Just for wearing delivery clothes, he couldn’t use spacious entrances; he had to use employee passages. Why?
Clearly, using that entrance would allow completion in a minute, but taking the employee passage costs multiple times the effort.
Why treat delivery workers differently?
Lin Fan never understood this and thought it over, concluding it’s just pretentiousness from large malls. Really, if they weren’t pretentious, this wouldn’t happen.
"So, such a spacious mall, why not designate parking areas for delivery workers near entrances? Why not let delivery workers use these entrances and avoid the employee passages?" Lin Fan asked.
The leader said, "How would I know? Anyway, that’s the rule from above. We just follow it. He violated rules, so we have the right to impound his vehicle!"
"What’s all this noise? How improper! What’s going on?"
At this moment, a middle-aged man wearing a suit and tie walked over, seeming to be a senior employee of the mall.
"The manager is here!" the leader happily remarked, glad to have the manager back him up.
The leader immediately went to report.
After hearing the report, the manager’s expression wasn’t pleasant as he glanced coldly at Lin Fan, "Are you questioning our mall’s rules?"
Seeing this middle-aged man, Lin Fan frowned, suddenly remembering a past event.
