Starting from Robinson Crusoe-Chapter 79 - 28: Mother and Child Both Captured (Part 3)
But now he can only stop it verbally because his pants have already fallen to his knees.
The sailors’ work pants are really too loose, and once they leave the belt’s restraint, they quickly slide down. Just now, when he dashed out to use the pole to catch the goat, his pants almost fell to the ground.
Taking advantage of the nanny goat’s pause, he quickly pulls his pants up.
Snatching the lamb out of Lai Fu’s mouth, he comforts the excited big dog, puffs up his stomach to try to hold up his pants, grips the crowbar, and observes the nanny goat’s reaction, keeping Chen Zhou busy and frantic.
Looking at the bitten part on the lamb’s back, the soft wool has already been churned into noodle-like blobs by Lai Fu’s saliva. Though there are dents from the teeth marks, there’s no blood, and he breathes a sigh of relief.
With the lamb tucked under his arm, he reminds Lai Fu to calm down. Chen Zhou gently approaches the nanny goat, conveying goodwill through body language.
Lai Fu, all excited, is unwilling to listen, wagging its tail in eagerness, frightening the nanny goat several meters backward.
"Lai Fu!
Sit!"
With a stern face, Chen Zhou scolds it.
Lai Fu advances while keeping an eye on its master’s expression. Seeing the owner angry, it immediately stops, eyebrows twitching in confusion, as if asking, "Why won’t you let me catch it?"
"Sit!"
Chen Zhou repeats the command.
Reluctantly, Lai Fu sits down, greatly reducing the frequency of its tail wagging to express its protest.
Ensuring the dog won’t cause trouble, Chen Zhou cautiously moves forward.
The lamb continues to bleat, and things seem to be progressing smoothly. His distance to the nanny goat soon shrinks to about five meters.
He can clearly see the nanny goat’s expression now, and Chen Zhou takes another step.
If he can get within two meters, there’s hope for a direct hit.
However, the nanny goat has already figured out that Chen Zhou and Lai Fu are in cahoots and doesn’t fall for it.
Five meters is the maximum distance it can accept. When Chen Zhou steps forward, it steps back, always maintaining a safe distance.
As time passes, it becomes less sensitive to the lamb’s calls.
"Damn, why’s it so cunning?"
Patience is running thin, and seeing that the nanny goat seems to want to return to the flock, Chen Zhou decides fiercely—not letting it escape, even if he has to kill it for meat right here.
With a change of thought, he slowly bends down, places the crowbar beside him, and loosens his clamped armpit so the lamb’s front legs touch the ground, giving it a point to struggle and jump, thereby attracting the nanny goat’s attention.
The nanny goat falls for it, thinking its child is breaking free, and instinctively steps forward two paces.
"Three meters!"
Silently calculating the distance, Chen Zhou completely lets go of the lamb. The nanny goat rushes to it, oblivious that the human opposite has picked up the crowbar.
"Well, take this!"
This time, Chen Zhou doesn’t mess up, using the crowbar as a throwing weapon, hurling it straight out.
The nanny goat never expected this move. With less than two meters between them, there’s no time to dodge, and the heavy crowbar hits its neck, making it dizzy and weakening its forelegs.
After throwing the crowbar, Chen Zhou doesn’t stop, takes a little sprinting step, ignoring his dropping pants, and suddenly leaps to grab the nanny goat’s hind legs.
Baa~
The nanny goat feels its vision blurred, and its hind legs can’t kick anymore, quickly forward.
Swept along by its sudden tug, Chen Zhou falls to the ground, his knee yielding softly, but never lets go.
The nanny goat weighs less than half of Chen Zhou, and though it struggles with all its might, its final resistance fails, and it cannot escape the fate of being pulled over, pinned down, and tied.
Mounted on the goat, smelling the goat’s musk, Chen Zhou uses his belt to tightly bind its front and hind legs, then pulls up his pants and stands up.
"Hehehe~"
With a silly grin, he wipes the dusty sweat off his face, holding the nanny goat’s horns.
The lamb, oblivious that its mother has been caught, burrows under the nanny goat’s belly, head butting its underbelly, happily drinking milk.
The mother goat takes a step as it’s led, and the lamb follows, paying no mind to the commotion at the distant flock.
"Let’s go, Lai Fu!"
A wonderful day has a perfect beginning and a pleasant ending. Stepping into the sunset’s glow, calling his partner, Chen Zhou heads toward the cave.
