"I threw the remaining popsicles in the trash." Ding Long said as he turned and went back to the kitchen. ππΏπππ ππππ¨πππ.ππ π
Ding Jinshi was taken aback, "Oh no! Ding Long, youβre such a villain!" she shouted, rushing into the kitchen. But by the time she got there, the popsicles were already lying lifeless in the trash can. She, the savior of popsicles, was just two steps too late.
"Ding Long, youβve gotten more nagging, you know that?" Ding Jinshi was genuinely a bit upset.
"Youβve gotten more disobedient, you know that?" Ding Long shrugged and threw a question back at Ding Jinshi.
Ding Jinshi couldnβt outtalk Ding Long and rolled her eyes at him, quickly changing the topic, "Itβs the weekend today, do you have any plans?"
"Didnβt you say a couple of days ago you wanted dumplings? Havenβt you noticed Iβm kneading dough?" Over the past six months, apart from the company steadily growing, Ding Longβs culinary skills had improved the most. He could now even make dumplings.
"Huh?" Ding Jinshi was puzzled, "I just said that offhandedly."
After saying that, Ding Jinshi, who got a glare from Ding Long, chuckled, rubbed the tip of her nose with her hand, and asked, "No dates on the weekend?"
Half a year was the time they agreed to maintain their unmarried couple relationship. When the six months were up, Ding Jinshi asked Ding Long about his plans, but Ding Long brushed it off, saying the company was developing and, as the boss, he couldnβt have any negative press.
Ding Long was helping her out back then, so regarding matters about his company, Ding Jinshi didnβt dare say much, especially seeing how hard Ding Long was working for the business, she didnβt want to add to his burdens at this critical time.
Of course, Ding Jinshi also thought that this arrangement wasnβt all that bad.
More than half a year had passed, spending every day together with Ding Long, living and eating under the same roof, and she wasnβt tired of it. Although Ding Long had become more nagging, he still cared for and looked after her well.
"What date?" Ding Long didnβt catch on for a moment and casually asked while continuing to knead the dough, paying no attention to Ding Jinshiβs expression behind him over the thrown-out popsicles. "A date between a man and a woman, what other kind of date could it be?" Ding Jinshi didnβt disappoint, rolling her eyes at Ding Long, then taking a few steps forward, she deliberately moved closer to Ding Long. Watching him knead the dough, her playful side was piqued. She pressed her finger deep into the dough, creating a deep fingerprint, and finding it amusing, she burst out laughing and suggested, "Ding Long, why donβt we skip the dumplings and steam buns instead? What do you think?"
"Not even a little bit." Ding Long raised his hand and smacked Ding Jinshiβs hand, "Iβve already prepared the filling, and you want to steam buns? Youβre just like a three-year-old whoβs inconsistent and all over the place."
Ding Jinshi stuck out her tongue, knowing that a βnoβ from Ding Long was definite. So, she quickly changed the subject, "Ding Long, youβre not young anymore, right? Youβre successful in your career, and quite the gentleman. Havenβt you met your Miss Right yet? No weekend dates with a girl you like? A dinner, a movie, a drive around town in your flashy little car with a young lady?"
Ding Longβs hand paused briefly as he kneaded the dough, then he stood up straight and turned to look at Ding Jinshi, "To help you, now everyone in the capital knows I have a fiancΓ©e. Plus, over the past six months, Iβve been taking you to various social events, everyone knows we are inseparably in love. Can a decent girl be pursued under these circumstances? And would I, Ding Long, be interested in women who are only after my hard-earned money?"
