Chapter 3526: Complete Disappearance

Old Yu stood still, his face grim. How had he been exposed? How had the Third Boss learned that the Phantom Reach had hired Emperor Slayer?

It was also true that the Phantom Reach’s push to have their ruler become a Seraph was related to the Wisdom Domain.

While no one from the Wisdom Domain itself could become a Seraph, they could control who did. Both the former Seraph Yi Shang and his replacement, the ruler of the Phantom Reach, had risen to power because of this.

Seraph Yi had not even truly lost to the ruler of the Phantom Reach. Rather, he had abdicated at Old Yu’s instructions.

The old man had been caught off guard by Lu Yin’s success in fighting for the title of Seraph at the Umbral Deep. Old Yu had thought that Lu Yin would definitely be eliminated at the Umbral Deep without question. However, one expert after another had been defeated, and even Emperor Slayer had lost. Lu Yin’s limits were still unprobed, and that had forced Old Yu to change his plans.

He also had not expected Lu Yin to see through all his plans.

Did he truly not care about the lives and deaths of those aboard Boundless? How had he determined that there was a connection between Emperor Slayer and the Phantom Reach?

For the time being, Old Yu pushed his confusion aside and focused on the issues at hand. He assumed that Lu Yin was someone with both peerless cultivation talent and an ability to scheme. He should be someone who understood how to pursue the benefits while avoiding risks. Given the situation, Lu Yin should have agreed to cooperate with the Wisdom Domain in order to protect Boundless, but unexpectedly, he was taking the reckless route and completely ignoring the danger.

The Third Boss actually wanted to attack the ruler of the Phantom Reach, which would ruin many years of Old Yu’s plans.

The old man had fundamentally misunderstood Lu Yin.

Over the many years that Lu Yin had cultivated, there were times when he had forced himself to be patient, and at other times, he had taken explosive action. However, all of it had been made for the same purpose: to clearly see the road ahead of him.

He had endured the Daynight clan’s bullying and used the strength of another against the strength of his enemy. He had even joined the Lockbreaker Society in order to gain sufficient backing, which had allowed him to push forward. When infiltrating both the Perennial World and the Sixverse Association, he had shown patience. In contrast, in the Spirit Nidus, such patience was not an option.

The moment that Boundless entered the Spirit Nidus, people had started scheming against the people of the Tianyuan Megaverse. Acting patiently would only cause them to suffer from even worse schemes.

In this situation, their only option was to fight, fight until the Spirit Nidus was forced into silence and until no one dared to exploit Boundless, aside from the High Seraph himself.

Lu Yin would put up with the High Seraph’s schemes because he was not the High Seraph’s match. Still, Lu Yin would never allow himself to be exploited by anyone else in the Spirit Nidus, and that included the Wisdom Domain.

There had been one scheme after another. Lu Yin was not confident that he could always see the future so clearly, so it was best to simply wash all plots away while he could.

...

A spirit cloudstone trembled, and Old Tao’s voice was soon heard. “Third Boss, the ruler of the Phantom Reach is no longer in the Daquan Domain. He’s moved to the Roaming South Realm.”

“The Roaming South Realm?” Lu Yin had never heard of this place before. It was not one of the thirty-six domains.

“The Roaming South Realm is rather remote, and it’s not a part of the thirty-six domains. However, it’s the base for the Phantom Reach’s ruler. Outsiders don’t know this, but the Phantom Reach’s people are scattered throughout all thirty-six domains, and they don’t have a fixed headquarters. But in reality, the Roaming South Realm is where the Phantom Reach started.”

“How do you know that?” Lu Yin’s eyes glinted. While Old Tao was the Phantom Reach’s number four, Lu Yin had asked him such questions before, and Old Tao had claimed not to know about any sort of relationship like the one between the Roaming South Realm and the Phantom Reach.

Old Tao solemnly replied, “The Phantom Reach just took the initiative to tell me.”

Lu Yin lowered his spirit cloudstone and started moving towards the Roaming South Realm, following Old Tao’s directions.

Old Yu had contacted the ruler of the Phantom Reach, who was not confident enough to fight Lu Yin in the Daquan Domain. For that reason, he had returned to the Roaming South Realm. Clearly, he wanted to fight Lu Yin with the full strength of the Phantom Reach.

Elsewhere, just outside the Wisdom Domain, Old Tao lowered his own spirit cloudstone and released a breath.

Another battle was about to break out. Can’t the Third Boss just take a break? Does he really have to attack the Phantom Reach right here, right now?

Aside from trying to use Su Shidao to eliminate Lu Yin, the Phantom Reach did not seem to have done anything that would incite Lu Yin into destroying them. Why was he suddenly in such a rush?

“The Roaming South Realm? Why’s he going there?” Qing Yun asked.

Old Tao explained, “He’s going after the Phantom Reach.”

“I was assuming that Jiu Xian had returned and that he was going after her,” Qing Yun muttered.

Her comment startled Old Tao, Palace Master Yao, and several others who heard it.

“Jiu Xian stays in the Roaming South Realm?” Palace Master Yao asked.

Qing Yun nodded, concealing nothing.

No one knew the locations of most of the Seven Seraphs. Just earlier, no one in the Spirit Nidus had known that Bao Qi was in the Umbral Deep.

Jiu Xian, Seraph Meng Sang, and the other Seraphs who were not part of the seven major powers all stayed in unknown locations.

Even Palace Master Yao, someone who had enjoyed a close connection to the High Seraph, had known nothing about their locations, let alone Old Tao and the others.

They all felt like they had just learned an earth-shattering secret.

Bao Qi had been in the Umbral Deep, which was close to the Wisdom Domain, while Jiu Xian was based in the Roaming South Realm, which put her next to the Phantom Reach. Neither of these matters seemed coincidental.

“By the way, if he’s going after the Phantom Reach, send him this.” Qing Yun pulled out a jade slip. “These are the locations of some of the Phantom Reach’s people throughout the thirty-six domains.”

Old Tao took the jade while staring at Qing Yun in confusion.

She felt obligated to explain. “Jiu Xian absolutely despises the Phantom Reach, especially Yi Nan. She spends much of time investigating them, and this is what she’s managed to find. If the Third Boss can eliminate Yi Nan, then the Phantom Reach should disappear entirely.”

Old Tao skimmed the contents of the jade slip before calling Lu Yin again.

Shortly after that, at Lu Yin’s instructions, the old man reached out to the Grandverse Manor.

They were overdue for some more action.

...

Lu Yin shot through outer space, moving closer and closer to the Roaming South Realm. Suddenly, a voice called out to him. “Qianmen Feidu greets the Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss.”

Lu Yin glanced around his surroundings. A mouth had appeared nearby, much to his surprise. Just a mouth?

“A Spirit Transformation innate gift?”

“That’s exactly right. I hope you don’t mind, Third Boss.”

Lu Yin let out a genuine laugh. “You don’t dare to show yourself to me?”

“I’m afraid you might attack me, Third Boss. I’m a rather timid person, so please forgive me.”

“There’s nothing to forgive. Qianmen Feidu? That should make you the known master of the Phantom Reach, right?”

Qianmen Feidu answered respectfully, “Third Boss, are you currently headed to the Roaming South Realm?”

“So what if I am?”

“What does my Phantom Reach need to do to have you take a step back, Third Boss?”

Lu Yin continued moving forward at the same speed as before, and the mouth kept up with him, much to his surprise. It was just a mouth—literally nothing more—so how was it able to move as fast as Lu Yin?

He peered into the void and gradually realized that there was a portal there.

Starting from where the mouth had first appeared, countless portals had appeared, continuing into the distance. The mouth was not moving fast enough to keep up with Lu Yin, but rather passing through one portal after another.

Interesting. Is this another Spirit Transformation innate gift?

The Spirit Nidus’s unified cultivation system seemed to be less creative than the Tianyuan Megaverse’s methods, but the Spirit Rebirth could be truly astonishing.

In the Tianyuan Megaverse, very few individuals possessed innate gifts, and simply possessing one would completely transform a cultivator’s status.

In contrast, in the Spirit Nidus, many who underwent a Spirit Rebirth would obtain either a spirit weapon or a Spirit Transformation innate gift. Lu Yin had once assumed that the odds of a person experiencing a Spirit Transformation were extremely low. But given the countless number of cultivators in the Spirit Nidus, the total number who had undergone that transformation was startlingly large.

It was yet another aspect in which the Spirit Nidus far surpassed the Tianyuan Megaverse.

Qianmen Feidu was just an Ortuser, so it should be impossible for him to move as fast as Lu Yin, given Lu Yin’s mastery of the powers of space and time. And yet, the man was able to do just that by merely relying on his Spirit Transformation innate gift. On top of that, he was only moving his mouth, which only further proved how remarkable his innate gift was.

“The Primal Beastland or Heavenspire: pick one to deal with for me.”

“Now that you’re qualified to be one of the Seven Seraphs, the Phantom Reach will fully support you, Third Boss.”

“Bullshit. I’ll deal with anyone who stands in my way myself. I don’t need your support.”

“The Phantom Reach has gathered a great deal of information about the entire Spirit Nidus, and all of that can be at your disposal, Third Boss.”

Lu Yin looked over at the mouth. “For example, the locations of Qian, the Worryless Elder, and Hu Wu and Tian Ya?”

Qianmen Feidu paused briefly. “Third Bo-”

Before he could finish, Lu Yin slapped the mouth with enough force to shake the void. His terrifying power shattered space, and a shockwave rippled out, destroying all of the portals.

While the portals had spread across the universe, they were invisible to most people. Even Spirit Ancestors would not be able to perceive them. In this way, they much resembled the hidden entrances to Burial Garden that spread across the Origin Universe, though Qianmen Feidu’s portals were far more sophisticated.

No matter how miraculous an innate gift might be, it would still be shattered when struck by absolute power.

The same moment that Lu Yin shattered the portals, far away in the Roaming South Realm, Yi Nan’s eyes opened as Qianmen Feidu emerged from the void. “I could not stop him.”

Yi Nan rose to his feet. “Despite fighting numerous opponents at the Umbral Deep, he still dares to come after our Phantom Reach? Does he truly have no limits?”

“That’s impossible. Even Lord High Seraph has limits.”

Yi Nan shook his head. “It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t have limits or if no one can find them—the results are the same. It is clear that he genuinely wants to eliminate either Heavenspire or the Primal Beastland. Reach out to him again, but only say that, the moment he starts a war with our Phantom Reach, the entire Spirit Nidus will learn that his Grandverse Manor is from the Tianyuan Megaverse and that Seraph Yuan Qi is under their control. They will become enemies of the entire Spirit Nidus.”

Knowing something and having the information be made public were completely different concepts.

Everyone might already know that Boundless was from the Tianyuan Megaverse and that the Grandverse Manor consisted of cultivators from that megaverse. However, as long as no one explicitly announced this information and the High Seraph stayed silent, no one would make trouble for them. Individually, none of the seven major powers could match the Grandverse Manor. It would take at least half of those organizations to band together to oppose Boundless.

However, if the Grandverse Manor’s origins were explicitly announced, then Lu Yin’s actions would complicate the situation between the three megaverses. Every action he had ever taken would be blown out of proportion, and everything would be seen as an insult to the entire Spirit Nidus.

For example, declaring war on the Phantom Reach.

This would leave the Grandverse Manor unable to move anywhere in the Spirit Nidus, which was precisely Yi Nan’s intention.

Qianmen Feidu hesitated briefly. “The Third Boss might not care. He has already challenged our megaverse’s top experts, and he has also given his protection to people who violate our taboos. He has even threatened to write on the walls of the Apex Palace. Even if he wasn’t from the Tianyuan Megaverse, his actions are already enough to make his Grandverse Manor an enemy of the entire Spirit Nidus.”

Yi Nan’s headache was getting worse. How was it possible for such a person to appear?

Old Yu had been completely confident that he could persuade the Third Boss, which was why Yi Nan had chosen such a time to seize the title of Seraph. He had not expected to be targeted by the Third Boss for a deathmatch. Had Yi Nan known this outcome, he would have never moved forward. He would have at least waited until right before the Day of Offering to act.

Such timing might not have agitated Lu Yin.

Additionally, the Phantom Reach had hired Emperor Slayer, but how had Lu Yin learned of that?

From Old Tao? That was impossible. He was merely ranked fourth in the Phantom Reach. That old man had no idea that they had hired Emperor Slayer.

That incident was the real reason why Lu Yin was heading to the Roaming South Realm to kill Yi Nan.

Had he known that even Emperor Slayer could not handle the Third Boss, Yi Nan would not have done something as unnecessary as antagonizing the man.

The biggest problem was that no one could see where Lu Yin’s limits lay.

He had fought against so many peak experts, but not even Emperor Slayer had been able to expose the Third Boss’s limits. In fact, Emperor Slayer had actually escaped from the fight.

Emperor Slayer might criticize others for lacking morals, but in reality, the beast was the most immoral of all.

Emperor Slayer truly disgusted Yi Nan, but the most important thing at the moment was to resolve the threat that was Lu Yin.

Qianmen Feidu went back to observing Lu Yin, and a mouth appeared from the void again. Already, Lu Yin had moved very close to the Roaming South Realm.

“Third Boss, the Phantom Reach is responsible for the White Spirit List, and we have access to many sources of information throughout the entire Spirit Nidus. This can be of great help to your Grandverse Manor. Won’t you reconsider cooperating with our Phantom Reach?”
