Star Odyssey-Chapter 3500: Floral Transposition
Chapter 3500: Floral Transposition
The old man grew puzzled. "Then how do you know? I knew nothing about it, and the rest of the Spirit Nidus certainly doesn’t know it either. If you, who are from the Tianyuan Megaverse, didn’t do it, then how do you know?"
Lu Yin shrugged. "I just do."
The old man stared at Lu Yin for a long moment. "Forget it. Such things no longer have anything to do with me. I’ve already given you my warning, so you can leave now.
"By the way, there’s one more thing: the one behind Cheng Liang is not simple."
Lu Yin did not leave yet. "I have one question I’d like to ask you. Why didn’t you dodge earlier?"
The old man glanced over at Lu Yin. "Curiosity."
"Curiosity?"
"An attack I can’t see? Honestly, I’ve never encountered anything like that in my entire life. I wanted to see what it was. I thought that I might be able to learn why the High Seraph is so concerned about you, yet refuses to act against you. Unfortunately, I couldn’t understand anything."
The old man then stared at Lu Yin, as though awaiting an explanation.
Lu Yin moved an arm. "If you let me go, how will you explain things to the High Seraph?"
The old man was visibly disappointed. "There’s nothing to explain. We agreed upon an exchange. If it falls through, then so be it."
"Shouldn’t you at least put on a show? I’m actually quite curious about your spirit treasure formation. I’ve heard that you have a legendary formation called Floral Transposition. I’d like to see it," Lu Yin commented, his eyes lighting up as he stared at the old man.
Su Shidao just shook his head. "I’m old, and I’ve lost any desire to compete with others to prove myself. Since I don’t have any need to explain matters to the High Seraph, what would be the point of fighting?"
"I can tell you what that unseen attack was," Lu Yin said.
The old man instantly grew excited. "Excellent! I was waiting for that! I might not have any interest in the High Seraph’s offer, but yours is different. I am Grandmaster Su, the premier Spirit Treasure Grandmaster of the Spirit Nidus. Please."
Lu Yin bowed solemnly. "I am the Tianyuan Megaverse’s best Array Grandmaster, Lu Yin. Please."
Grandmaster Su was taken aback. "An Array Grandmaster? Is that the same as our Spirit Treasure Grandmasters? Are you the best in your megaverse?"
"For the moment, yes."
"Haha, wonderful! The best Grandmaster from the Spirit Nidus versus the best Grandmaster from the Tianyuan Megaverse! This will be very interesting!" With that, the black and white colors that permeated the region suddenly shrank into a single point and then shot up at Grandmaster Su from beneath Lu Yin's feet. After that, the two colors formed a massive black-and-white sword that rose high into the sky before slashing back down at Lu Yin. "Epoch Blade!"
The attack was too sudden and too unexpected.
"You cheating old man! You had already set up this spirit treasure formation!" Lu Yin complained.
Grandmaster Su cackled. "Young man, I am a Spirit Treasure Grandmaster! You should have been prepared the moment you entered my territory. Let’s go!"
Outside the Black and White Domain, Grandmaster Yu Ran was shocked. "The Epoch Blade? They really did start fighting... Still, why are things starting off so fierce?"
Everyone back in the Spirit Treasure Society was dumbfounded by the sight of the enormous black-and-white sword that seemed to connect the sky to the ground.
Old Tao and Palace Master Yao were both startled. Even they felt intense pressure from the black-and-white sword. A powerful blast of wind was kicked up from the pressure, and it swept across the entire Spirit Treasure Domain. The whole domain trembled, and the wind even suppressed the danger zones of countless spirit treasures into stillness.
It was as if a layer of wind was shrouding the entire domain.
Lu Yin’s various observers all watched with bulging eyes. The fight had started! They were all confident that this battle would shake the Spirit Nidus in the same manner as the battle in the Consciousness Domain.
The Third Boss had really challenged Grandmaster Su. No matter the final outcome, this battle would surely shake the entire Spirit Nidus, just like before.
Grandmaster Su was unquestionably an expert at the same level as the Seven Seraphs.
The black-and-white sword looked enormous, but by the time it reached Lu Yin, it was only about ten meters long.
Lu Yin would never underestimate someone like Grandmaster Su. The soil of Lu Yin’s Dust World appeared and condensed into a spear that he stabbed forward.
Bang!
The collision created a deafening explosion that split the void asunder in all directions. Every spatial crack devoured its surroundings, instantly destroying the Black and White Domain before spreading on towards the Spirit Treasure Society.
Lu Yin’s spear stretched past the black-and-white sword in an instant as he thrust it at Grandmaster Su.
Around the Spirit Treasure Grandmaster, countless black and white sword blades appeared, and each one slashed directly at the spear.
As that happened, the swords suddenly disappeared. They had transformed into black-and-white energy that filled the area. Lu Yin could still hear the soft sounds of sharp slashes slicing through the area as more attacks were aimed at him.
There were no sequence particles involved. This attack used nothing aside from the spirit treasure formation, and yet it was somehow even more terrifying than most of the sequence techniques that Lu Yin had encountered thus far.
Just two slashes were enough to kill most sequence powerhouses.
Lu Yin's eyes glinted with a dangerous light. The spear in his hands abruptly split apart, and the dirt around him spread out. He used the soil in place of a sourcebox’s danger zone to set up a sourcebox array: As If Closed.
He had learned this sourcebox array from True Insight. Once, during a battle with Shang Qing, Shang Qing had used the Tri-Yang Ancestral Qi Technique to summoned Progenitor Hui, who had used As If Closed to trap Lu Yin. At that time, the array had left a deep impression on him.
As If Closed could trap an enemy while also protecting the Array Master.
Grandmaster Su’s flared. "Not bad! It’s a good spirit treasure formation, but it won’t work."
The black-and-white energy continued to release cuts at Lu Yin. As If Closed would not be able to block them for long.
Lu Yin remained calm. He had never expected As If Closed alone to block Grandmaster Su’s spirit treasure formation, but what if there was more?
Which of Progenitor Hui’s sourcebox arrays was the most powerful? No one could say for sure.
Some sourcebox arrays were created for combat, others to assist in cultivation, while others still to protect entire regions.
The sourcebox array that Lu Yin admired most was Ceaseless Impetus.
Ceaseless Impetus had protected the Perennial World and its rear battlefield for many years. It was what had allowed the Fifth Mainland to fight against Aeternus for so long.
Without the array, the Perennial World would have never been able to endure the Aeternals’ attacks.
After Lu Yin had achieved victory and united the megaverse, he had made it a point to return to the rear battlefield and study Ceaseless Impetus.
The sourcebox array was exceptionally difficult to arrange, to the point where even someone as skilled as Grandmaster Gu Yan struggled to just understand it. This was not because the sourcebox array was difficult in and of itself, but rather because it was too vast and had too much going on. Most importantly of all, it had incredible power requirements for it to function.
If Grandmaster Gu Yan were provided enough materials and time, he could duplicate Ceaseless Impetus, but even then, his strength would limit him.
Lu Yin was currently able to set up the sourcebox array with the soil from his Dust World Progenitor’s world. Lu Yin’s strength had already far surpassed Progenitor Hui’s, and while he did not set up anything as complicated as the true Ceaseless Impetus, the sourcebox array was still enough to block the cuts from the black-and-white energy.
When Ceaseless Impetus appeared, the sourcebox array combined with As If Closed to produce an endless stream of power that completely countered the black-and-white energy.
Grandmaster Su was surprised. "Did you design that spirit treasure formation yourself?"
"I didn’t make this one. A respected senior from our Tianyuan Megaverse is the designer."
Grandmaster Su was impressed. "An endless flow of power, very impressive. What is it called?"
"Ceaseless Impetus."
"Very nice, Ceaseless Impetus. I quite admire it. It’s a spirit treasure formation somewhat similar to my own Art of Flower Shifting, but there is a fundamental difference. If you would like to experience Floral Transposition, I’ll show it to you."
The black-and-white energy disappeared. The combination of Ceaseless Impetus and As If Closed had rendered the black-and-white energy completely useless.
Lu Yin had also revealed a level of mastery that was expected of an Array Grandmaster.
His expression grew solemn. Floral Transposition? He was finally going to see it.
On the way to the Spirit Treasure Domain, Old Tao and Palace Master Yao had told Lu Yin about Grandmaster Su, and he had learned that the old man’s most powerful spirit treasure formation was his Art of Flower Shifting.
The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.
Neither of Lu Yin’s followers had been able to clearly explain the spirit treasure formation, and they had only been describe it with a few words: it was an endless flow.
Such a description reminded Lu Yin of his own Verdant Eternity.
He had already seen a similar ability in the Tomb of Mountains and Streams that he had defeated on the seventh step of the Grandmaster's Trial, but that formation had only appeared to have an endless flow of energy. It had not come close to actually achieving truly lossless energy usage.
For both cultivation and lockbreaking, the further one progressed, the more they seemed to move towards the same destination: consuming no energy when using it.
Upon reaching a certain level, such goals become quite obvious.
If that was true, then Verdant Eternity was not a simple matter.
This was also why Lu Yin had been so curious about Floral Transposition. He wanted to see if the sourcebox array had managed to reach the same level of perfection as Verdant Eternity, where all energies became infinite due to no wastage.
A tree sprouted up from the ground, its trunk shooting into the sky and covering the entire black-and-white domain.
Lu Yin watched as the trees grew. They were formed from the danger zone of a sourcebox.
Grandmaster Su amply demonstrated his impressive lockbreaking skills with these trees. Even Lu Yin, with strength and insight, was incapable of quickly seeing through the array.
The tree was a sourcebox array that had been quickly set up. This was not something that had been arranged in advance.
Grandmaster Su's skills as a Lockbreaker surpassed Lu Yin’s own, but that was no surprise. Rather, what surprised him was the aura of the Epoch Blade from the tree. That aura had not been there before.
Were the two sourcebox arrays connected?
Branches stretched out, and the giant tree shadowed the entire Black and White Domain before overshadowing even the distant Spirit Treasure Society.
Grandmaster Yu Ran blankly stared up at the tree, stunned to see Floral Transposition again. Senior Su had already unleashed his full strength against the Third Boss.
Floral Transposition had left a mark in the history of the Spirit Nidus. It was known as the greatest of all spirit treasure formations, unmatched in both the past and the present.
Floral Transposition was what had allowed Grandmaster Su to nearly defeat Seraph Meng Sang. That near victory had been due to the spirit treasure formation alone, nothing else. Su Shidao had not used any sequence techniques or battle techniques.
This spirit treasure formation could be arranged in an instant, and it had nearly defeated Meng Sang. It was easy to understand just how badly this sourcebox array had shocked the Spirit Nidus.
Everyone in the Spirit Treasure Society dreamed of learning Floral Transposition. Grandmaster Su had even said that he would teach it to anyone, but all of the Spirit Treasure Grandmasters who had attempted to learn it had failed.
That included even Grandmaster Yu Ran herself.
Within the Black and White Domain, Lu Yin watched as the tree’s branches spread out further and further. Finally, black-and-white flowers bloomed on those branches.
His expression shifted from surprise to shock.
How is that possible?
After first becoming a Lockbreaker, the first truly shocking thing that Lu Yin had ever encountered was the array that had stored Void Rip.
That sourcebox array had managed to seal and store the Void Rip battle technique, allowing it to be used later on. That formation had been the key to completing micro-array technology. However, micro-arrays had specific material requirements, engravings, and more. On the other hand, Floral Transposition was like an alternate form of a micro-array weapon. Each of the blooming flowers was another Epoch Blade.
Floral Transposition was the weapon, and the Epoch Blade was the ammunition. Each of the flowers blooming on the enormous tree was another Everlasting Sword spirit treasure formation. However, no one could say how many flowers had bloomed on the tree.
The danger zones of these two sourcebox arrays were intricately interconnected, and yet they unfolded like a single piece of cloth that stretched out endlessly.
One Epoch Blade had already been powerful enough to force Lu Yin to rely on Ceaseless Impetus to empower As If Closed and block the sword’s attacks. At this moment, he was seeing countless Epoch Blades.
He stared at Grandmaster Su in shock.
Grandmaster Su proudly asked, "What do you think? Have you figured it out yet? This is my Art of Flower Shifting. Any spirit treasure formation can bloom in this place, becoming my power."
Lu Yin was amazed. "This Art of Flower Shifting is not a normal spirit treasure formation; it's more like a chest that can store other formations."
