Chapter 3475: The Day Of Offering

Shi Lin’s voice rang out, “Third Boss! This battle has gone on long enough!”

Lu Yin looked away from Wu Wei and glanced at Shi Lin, as well as at Wu Tong, who was standing behind the man.

The young woman bowed to Lu Yin. “Greetings, Third Boss.”

Lu Yin slowly smiled. He lazily stretched out and then said, “This has gone on long enough, and I’m a bit tired. Fine, I’ll show you some face.”

Shi Lin let a sigh of relief slip before looking up at the sky. “Senior Wu Wei, please withdraw.”

Wu Wei was a surrendered conscient. Despite its strength, Wu Wei had no say in the Consciousness Domain’s matters.

If Shi Lin told the conscient to withdraw, it had to comply.

The dark cloud quickly dissipated.

For Old Tao, he saw the giant spider leave.

For Cai Keqing, the blade left.

Different people saw Wu Wei differently.

Lu Yin watched the dark cloud fade away, and then he turned to look at Shi Lin. “I don’t want the Qi family to have any voice in the Consciousness Domain after this.”

Shi Lin casually replied, “Third Boss, you are welcome to take all the members of the Qi family with you.”

Lu Yin sneered. “Pointless. I won’t stoop so low as to bother with such people.”

With that, he took a step, leaving the Consciousness Domain.

Shi Lin stared at Lu Yin’s departing figure before letting out a silent sigh of relief.

It was finally over.

The battle had severely weakened the Consciousness Domain, though it had also revealed the domain’s hidden strength to the outside world.

While the Qi family had lost Qi Zun, Wu Wei was still alive, and the conscient was clearly comparable to a Seraph. The Consciousness Domain’s status would remain unshakeable.

The battle had also spread the Third Boss’s fame even further. It had become common knowledge that only a Seraph could compare to him.

Just what was the High Seraph thinking? The Consciousness Domain had been nearly destroyed, and yet the High Seraph had done nothing.

Outside the Consciousness Domain, countless eyes stared at Lu Yin. The gazes all held fear and apprehension.

If people had merely suspected it in the past, then the truth had just been confirmed; this Third Boss truly did possess enough strength to compare to the Seven Seraphs.

Lu Yin lounged on his sedan. He was wearing a different set of clothes, and he let out a tired sigh. “Let’s go.”

Old Tao respectfully replied, “Yes, Third Boss, let’s go.”

The sedan moved away quickly, and all who had been shadowing Lu Yin silently pulled back, no matter if they were hidden or not.

The man was completely ruthless. He had announced that he would destroy the Qi family, and he had indeed done so. Neither Qi Zun nor Wu Wei had been able to stop him.

If the man set his sights on others, they knew that they would similarly be done for.

This thought prompted many to start reconsidering their actions.

This was someone who could fight against the Seven Seraphs. What did such matters have to do with them? Why would they want to draw such a person’s attention? They did not have a death wish.

The battles that had been fought in the Consciousness Domain immediately caused more than half of the people watching Lu Yin to leave.

The remaining observers were all from the seven major powers, or other affiliated organizations. While these people also wanted to leave, they could not.

As news of the battle spread, people’s impression of the Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss underwent a transformation. He was elevated to the same level as the Seven Seraphs.

In the past, both when he had defeated Palace Master Yao and overcome the assassination attempt during the Nine Horizons, people had merely speculated that only one of the Seven Seraphs could suppress the Third Boss. Those speculations had proven accurate.

Without a Seraph stepping forward, the Third Boss would remain invincible.

His physical strength was so terrifying that he had overpowered even Yu Shan, and he also possessed a consciousness strong enough to defeat Qi Zun. The Third Boss might actually be too much for even one of the Seven Seraphs to handle.

The Spirit Nidus had the High Seraph, then the Seven Seraphs, and beneath them, the seven major powers.

Some of the Seven Seraphs were also leaders of the seven major powers, but most were independent.

Zhan Ming led the Gate of Laws, holding both the title of Seraph and the leader of the Gate of Laws. In contrast, Seraphs Bao Qi and Meng Sang had no connection to the seven major powers.

Many cultivators gathered in the Ascendant Hall, all of them begging the High Seraph to emerge and put down the Grandverse Manor.

Seraph Bao Qi himself entered the Ascendant Hall, seeking the High Seraph.

“You want to act?” the High Seraph asked calmly.

Bao Qi answered in a low voice, “Everyone is claiming that even one of us Seraphs cannot handle this Third Boss. He’s become too arrogant.”

The High Seraph chuckled as he looked at Bao Qi. “In the Spirit Nidus, I would say that no one is more arrogant than you.”

Bao Qi had taken a shortcut to become a Seraph. He was much younger than Zhan Ming and the others, and he was the youngest Seraph by far. It was the fact that he had cultivated the Sound Sequence Technique that made him especially arrogant.

Bao Qi confidently stated, “I am qualified. Let me deal with this Third Boss.”

The High Seraph looked away. Deal with him? Absolutely not.

In the alternate timeline, Bao Qi had died in the Tianyuan Megaverse, apparently at Lu Yin’s hands.

While the details had never been clear, the High Seraph was certain that Bao Qi had some sort of karmic connection to Lord Lu.

Lord Lu could not be allowed to mend his broken karma.

“There’s no need for you to do anything. The Primal Beastland won’t leave the Grandverse Manor alone. They’ve lost too many experts to them.”

“The Primal Beastland? They’re not enough, unless Emperor Wu himself returns.”

“He’s about to.”

Bao Qi was stunned. “Is Emperor Wu returning? What about the Consciousness Megaverse?”

The High Seraph’s expression turned frigid as his eyes bore into Bao Qi. “You should have never become a Seraph if you can forget such an important day.”

Bao Qi stared at the High Seraph, stunned. After a moment, his eyes widened. “The Day of Offering.”

The High Seraph continued in a cold voice, “Have you already forgotten how brutal the fight to become a Seraph was? The Gate of Laws, Heavenspire, the Primal Beastland, and even the Wisdom Domain all interfered. If I hadn’t given you the Cauldron Bell at the last moment, what would have qualified you to become a Seraph?

“Don’t believe that your position is secure. There are many eyeing the titles of the Seven Seraphs, some of whom you can’t even imagine.

“Do not antagonize the Grandverse Manor. Things may be fine if you win, but if you lose, you will undoubtedly be removed as a Seraph.”

The High Seraph’s words filled Bao Qi with reluctance. He desperately wanted to prove himself.

Everyone claimed that he had been given his title of Seraph by the High Seraph. Without the Cauldron Bell, Bao Qi would have never succeeded.

This was precisely why the man was so eager to receive the High Seraph’s permission to go after Lu Yin.

With Bao Qi’s natural arrogance, how could he tolerate the rumors circulating about that Third Boss?

At this moment, the High Seraph’s words hammered at Bao Qi’s very soul. If he lost, he would be removed as a Seraph. Could he lose? That was impossible. He was a Seraph, given the requisite strength by the Cauldron Bell. How could any of the Seven Seraphs lose?

Bao Qi remained standing where he was, the expression on his face continuously changing.

The High Seraph dismissed the man. He would not force Bao Qi to stay still, but if Bao Qi did go after Lord Lu and was defeated, he would lose his title as Seraph. A Seraph could not lose. They enjoyed the highest status in the Spirit Nidus, second only to the High Seraph himself.

Defeat could never be associated with any of the Seven Seraphs.

Anyone who had been defeated was unworthy of becoming a Seraph.

No matter how arrogant Bao Qi might be, he was not stupid.

At about the same time, Old Tao had also mentioned the Day of Offering to Lu Yin as they were traveling through outer space.

“What’s the Day of Offering?” Lu Yin asked curiously.

Old Tao explained in a respectful manner, “If the Nine Horizons is how those nine domains measure time, then the Day of Offering is how the entire Spirit Nidus measures a cycle of time. Legends claim that that day marks the birth of the invincible one, though others say that it’s the day when the Spirit Nidus’s cultivation methods were unified. There are even some who claim that it’s the day when the Spirit Nidus’s thirty-six domains were connected to form the spirit character (灵).

“Essentially, there are many legends across the various domains, but they all lead to the same result: the Day of Offering is a day when the entire Spirit Nidus celebrates, prays, and offers blessings.

“The High Seraph will lead the Seven Seraphs in a ritual offering. Even Emperor Wu and Jiu Xian will return from the distant Consciousness Megaverse to participate.”

Lu Yin’s gaze flickered. Emperor Wu and Jiu Xian?

Of the Seven Seraphs, Lu Yin had already met Yi Shang, Meng Sang, Bao Qi, and Yuan Qi. The three that Lu Yin had not yet encountered were Zhan Ming, Emperor Wu, and Jiu Xian.

He had already interacted with Zhan Ming a few times, so Lu Yin was not entirely unfamiliar with the man. Already, Lu Yin had some leverage over the Seraph.

On the other hand, Emperor Wu and Jiu Xian were both complete unknowns.

In particular, Lu Yin knew little about Emperor Wu, who led the Primal Beastland and was already an enemy.

If that person returned, there was no doubt that he would fight against the Grandverse Manor.

“What’s Emperor Wu’s personality like?” Lu Yin asked.

Old Tao grew a bit nervous as he spoke. “Emperor Wu is completely domineering. As long as he’s around, no one dares to offend the Primal Beastland. Of the seven major powers, even places like the Consciousness Domain, Heavenspire, and Heaven’s Hand avoid going against Emperor Wu. If someone offends the Primal Beastland, Emperor Wu will personally seek that person out and then defeat them himself.”

Lu Yin chuckled. “So, are you saying that he’ll definitely come after me, aren’t you?”

“Without a doubt,” Old Tao answered instantly.

Palace Master Yao interjected, “Emperor Wu once said, ‘It’s not that I must become a Seraph, but that the Seven Seraphs need to include me.’”

“He’s that arrogant?” Lu Yin was surprised.

Palace Master Yao’s eyes betrayed a hint of fear. “He’s qualified to be that arrogant. You may have heard what people call him.”

There was a pause, during which her expression grew solemn. “Undying Emperor Wu.”

Lu Yin had indeed heard the title before, but he had simply assumed it to be a name.

Old Tao continued his warning, “Emperor Wu’s most famous battle was when he fought against three Seraphs at once. It was even a real battle to the death, and it was overseen by the High Seraph himself. The reason for that battle has been forgotten long ago, but the outcome was recorded down in history.

“Emperor Wu, relying solely on his own strength, left the three Seraphs half-dead while suffering grave injuries himself. However, no matter what those three Seraphs did to him, they could not kill him. At best, they might have suppressed him, but after a time, he would always counterattack again.

“Ultimately, the High Seraph declared their battle to be a draw.”

Lu Yin asked curiously, “Which three High Seraphs?”

“Seraph Yi Shang, Seraph Meng Sang, and one who passed away long ago.”

Lu Yin praised, “That’s truly impressive.”

Yi Shang might not possess any overtly destructive battle techniques, but his Impression Realm was not easy to deal with, and the round-faced old man always kept that sequence base around.

Meng Sang possessed immense physical strength, and when he combined that with his Life’s Requiem sequence particles, he was able to clinch a victory in a single move. Lu Yin was certain that Emperor Wu had been prepared beforehand, but even so. When three Seraphs were working together, they must have found a way to make Life’s Requiem effective.

Even then, they had failed to defeat Emperor Wu.

The beast lived up to his title.

“How long until the Day of Offering arrives?”

“There’s still a bit of time, but based on what’s happened in the past, Emperor Wu will return early,” Palace Master Yao replied.

Lu Yin slapped a hand on the sedan. “Alright, then we’ll head to the Primal Beastland.”

Lu Yin’s words startled Old Tao and the others. Even Astral Anura could not stop himself from turning around and staring at Lu Yin.

“Third Boss, you want to go to the Primal Beastland?”

“That’s right.”

“Emperor Wu will be back soon.”

“And that’s why, instead of waiting for him to come find me, I’ll go make some trouble for him first.”

How does that even make sense? Old Tao was stunned.

Palace Master Yao could not resist speaking up, “In addition to Emperor Wu, the Primal Beastland is home to a number of ancient powerhouses, all of whom have undergone a beast-form Spirit Rebirth. It’s said that some of them have taken refuge there because they disapprove of the High Seraph or because they refused to be used as material for the Gate of Laws’ sequence bases.

“The Primal Beastland won’t be easy to deal with. When it comes to their overall strength, the Consciousness Domain cannot come close to comparing to the Primal Beastland.”

Lu Yin rolled his eyes. “Don’t be ridiculous. If the Consciousness Domain hadn’t had Qi Zun and Wu Wei, I could have shattered that place with one hand. If the Primal Beastland were at the same level, what would qualify Emperor Wu to be so arrogant?”

“So, you still want to go to the Primal Beastland?” Old Tao cautiously asked, clearly unwilling.

The Primal Beastland absolutely would not be easy to deal with.
