Star Odyssey-Chapter 3427: Spirit Transformation Universe
Chapter 3427: Spirit Transformation Universe
Despite being a powerful Dukkhan, Seraph Yi Shang had to abandon a sequence base in order to survive. He fled from the Origin Progenitor, which somewhat frustrated the man.
"Don't worry about it. After all, he's a Dukkhan. All of the Seraphs have possessed their strength for an incredibly long time, while you, Senior, have been suppressing the sequence strings beneath the Immemorial Citadel. When it comes to how long he’s been cultivating for, he might not be any less experienced than you," Lu Yin said comfortingly.
The Origin Progenitor just rolled his eyes. "He didn't escape because of his strength, but because of a mirebound artifact."
Lu Yin was caught off guard. "He has a mirebound artifact?"
"What do you think? Mirebound artifacts are certainly rare, but it's not surprising for a Dukkhan to possess one. Don't you have one? The chances of someone at your level having one is drastically lower than a Dukkhan having one."
A bit of thought allowed Lu Yin to realize that this made sense.
However, if that was the case, then why had Yi Shang never used his mirebound artifact before? Had he simply never been pushed to the point where he had actually been facing possible death?
The Seraph had immediately abandoned the Impression Realm and fled with the help of a mirebound artifact when faced with the Origin Progenitor. It seemed possible that even the High Seraph had been unaware of this particular mirebound artifact.
"This is what you wanted," the Origin Progenitor said, handing the Impression Realm to Lu Yin.

Lu Yin's eyes sparkled. He had not managed to obtain this particular sequence base even in the River of Aeons’ branch stream. This sequence base ranked fifth, and it possessed countless sequence particles that had come from 359 cultivators of the Impression Sequence Technique. This sequence base possessed the most sequence particles that Lu Yin had ever seen.
Yi Shang had gone to great lengths to protect this sequence base, and yet Lu Yin had acquired it during his first battle after reaching the Spirit Nidues.
As soon as the Seraph retreated, the rest of the Spirit Nidus’s powerhouses were slaughtered one by one.
Dong Yi was defeated by Ce Wangtian. Their individual strength was roughly comparable, but Ce Wangtian had his slippers, and with Lu Tianyi added in, the scales easily tipped.
The rest of the Spirit Nidus’s sequence powerhouses had already fallen long ago.
Lu Yin immediately collected the bodies of all of the enemy sequence powerhouses and Spirit Ancestors before directing Boundless forward. The ship sailed into the distance and left the boundary.
Only the true experts who had defended the boundary had been dealt with. Many cultivators at the Spirit Warrior realm or below had survived, as Lu Yin had not targeted those people. This was not because he was merciful, but rather because he was simply curious to see how the High Seraph would suppress news of what had happened.
The High Seraph was the only one who had communicated with Beacon City, and yet he had failed to take the necessary precautions to prevent the Tianyuan Megaverse from invading the Spirit Nidus. This was a clear dereliction of his duties. If news of the invasion spread, there was no doubt that it would impact the High Seraph’s reputation.
However, Lu Yin had underestimated the High Seraph. While the man did not take action himself, none of the boundary defenders survived, save two people: Yi Shang and Cai Sandao.
Cai Sandao had fled the moment the fighting had started, reacting faster than anyone else.
As for the Seraph, there was nothing to be said.
As for the rest of the defenders at the boundary, the High Seraph had ordered those serving there to rotate out. Anyone not at the boundary would simply assume that all of the defenders had been transferred to Beacon City.
Despite how far-fetched it seemed, the High Seraph's supreme authority meant that the entire matter was quickly and completely suppressed.
The Cai Domain was where the Cai family resided.
Cai Sandao fled to the Cai Domain, but he had yet to reach his family when a terrifying pressure fell upon him.
He instantly dropped down and prostrated himself. "Cai Sandao asks to hear the High Seraph's orders. Anything that you command will be obeyed without question."
The immense pressure had fallen quickly, but it disappeared just as swiftly.
Cai Sandao remained face down for a long time before he dared to rise.
He let out a deep breath, understanding that he had only barely survived.
He swore to never speak a word of what had happened at the boundary. Not just at the present moment, but also at no point in the future.
He understood that he had witnessed a terrible secret, one so important that it had buried the Daquan Domain and annihilated all of Seraph Yi Shang’s loyal experts. Cai Sandao had survived only because he was not part of Seraph Yi Shang’s faction; he had only been there as a favor to the Seraph.
At about this time, Yi Shang arrived in the Daquan Domain, looking miserable.
Immense pressure descended upon him as well, and the Seraph clenched his fists.
"Where is the Impression Realm?"
The Seraph’s face turned ashen. "May I ask, High Seraph, why you did not intervene?"
"Where is the Impression Realm?"
Blood dripped from the Chief’s lips as he struggled to reply. "The Impression Realm... was lost. I ask for you to declare punishment, High Seraph."
"Losing a sequence base warrants revoking your position as Seraph. However, in light of your years of service, I will permit Yi Xia to succeed you."
Yi Shang’s head snapped up in shock. "Yi Xia?"
"Give me your mirebound artifact, and this can be accomplished."
Yi Shang’s eyes flickered as he bowed low. "I understand. As soon as Yi Xia has obtained the title of Seraph, the mirebound artifact will be delivered to you, High Seraph."
"Then bring him back." With that, the pressure from the High Seraph disappeared.
Yi Shang stood where he was, staring downwards. His round face was deathly pale. Finally, he was unable to hold it back any longer, and he spat out a mouthful of blood as a bitter laugh escaped his lips.
He had already been taken advantage of once. Would he really allow himself to be trapped a second time?
Would Yi Xia be allowed to become a Seraph in exchange for a mirebound artifact? No, that was completely impossible. Yi Shang might not know what the High Seraph was planning, but just one mirebound artifact was not nearly enough to buy the position of a Seraph. As soon as one of those seats became vacant, how many would start competing for it? How much chaos would erupt? It was likely that not even the High Seraph could suppress it, let alone Yi Xia.
Just what had happened with Yi Xia that the High Seraph was plotting against him and trying to bring him back to the Spirit Nidus?
Something must have happened in either the Tianyuan Megaverse or in Beacon City that Yi Xia oversaw. Yi Xia most likely knew something.
He could not return. No matter what, Yi Xia had to stay away.
Yi Shang collapsed to the ground and cleaned his mouth. How foolish. He had been outwitted by the High Seraph, who had sacrificed the entire Daquan Domain.
Yi Shang had been a Seraph for countless years, but standing so far above the others for so long and dulled his vigilance.
He should have seen something coming.
He did not hate the Tianyuan Megaverse. The man’s hatred burned for the High Seraph alone.
While Yi Shang and his forces had been overwhelmingly defeated in the battle at the boundary, the Seraph still firmly believed the Tianyuan Megaverse posed no real threat. This disdain for the Tianyuan Megaverse was ingrained in the very bones of everyone in the Spirit Nidus.
No matter how many experts they might have, the Tianyuan Megaverse could not escape their ultimate fate of being reset.
Yi Shang hated the High Seraph, as the man had used the Tianyuan Megaverse to destroy the Daquan Domain’s future.
Both Yi Shang himself and the Tianyuan Megaverse had been nothing more than pawns.
However, at least Yi Shang had become aware of the fact that he was a pawn.
The people of the Tianyuan Megaverse were destined to meet a tragic end.
Given Yi Shang’s perspective and knowledge, such a conclusion was not wrong. However, he would have never imagined how much of an impact the missing thirty-seven years could have had in altering events. During the previous branch stream of the River of Aeons, Lu Yin had made contact with the High Seraph and gained a great deal of knowledge about the Spirit Nidus.
Boundless moved deeper into the Spirit Nidus, getting as far away from the boundary as possible.
At the moment, Lu Yin and the others were all feeling rather puzzled.
The Spirit Nidus should not have put so few experts to stop them from entering the megaverse. Even stranger, aside from the standard defenders, the only additional people at the boundary had been Yi Shang’s people.
The people aboard Boundless had not noticed this because of Yi Shang’s identity, but rather from how all the defenders had obeyed him. Such subservience could be instantly noticed.
Lu Yin and the others had already come to the same conclusion as Yi Shang: the High Seraph was supremely confident, and he had allowed them to enter the Spirit Nidus because of his certainty that he could eliminate them later. However, before that, he would use the Tianyuan cultivators to eliminate threats to him within the Spirit Nidus, effectively killing two birds with one stone.
"Is he that confident that he can deal with us? It seems that this High Seraph has gotten a bit overconfident," Ce Wangtian said while picking his nose.
The Origin Progenitor spoke in a grave tone. "That round-faced guy directly mentioned that I’m someone at the High Seraph’s level while we were fighting when I immediately unleashed my full strength. Given that comment, it seems possible that the High Seraph possesses the same amount of strength that I did at my peak.
"He’s certainly just as strong as Yong Heng was at his peak."
"With there being so many of us, if we attack together, can we take down the High Seraph?"
"That’s doubtful."
"Yes, very."
Yuan Qi interjected, "The High Seraph’s strength is unfathomable. Don’t test him lightly."
Lu Yin frowned. He recalled the scene from the previous timeline when the High Seraph had attacked the Heavens Sect, leaving rivers of blood in his wake. It was not merely doubtful, but practically impossible for them to defeat the High Seraph.
Some distance away, Cai Jun was listening, his heart pounding hard. What was he hearing? These people wanted to take on the High Seraph?
Lunatics! He is the High Seraph! The most powerful figure in the Spirit Nidus, aside from the elusive invincible being. Many people secretly believed that the Fated One was nothing more than a story that the High Seraph had created in order to maintain control over the Spirit Nidus. However, even if such a being existed, who would dare to oppose the High Seraph?
Not even the Seven Seraphs could defeat him.
What on earth were these people planning? The Grandverse Manor? Cai Jun had never even heard of it before.
On the other hand, Ba Liu and Yi Yao had already grown accustomed to such discussions. They fully understood that Grandverse Manor’s goal was to incite chaos throughout the entire Spirit Nidus.
"Alright, we need to come up with a place to set down the Grandverse Manor’s roots," Lu Yin said. He looked over at Old Tao. "You decide."
Old Tao did not dare to make such a decision. If anything went wrong, he was afraid that Lu Yin would believe he had been deliberately led into a trap. Old Tao could only share information about the Spirit Nidus’s different domains and allow Lu Yin and the others choose for themselves.
The Spirit Nidus, like the Tianyuan Megaverse, consisted of countless parallel universes. The main difference between the two was that the Spirit Nidus had unified its cultivation system long ago, and by doing so, it had connected countless parallel universes to the primary universe of the Spirit Nidus, which was known as the Spirit Transformation Universe.
Any parallel universe that they discovered would be connected to the Spirit Transformation Universe. However, as the number of known parallel universes increased, these direct connections were gradually phased out. Instead, there were thirty-six universes directly connected to the Spirit Transformation Universe. These connections were made with a substance known as spirit thread. If the entire Spirit Nidus were laid out flat, then from a distance, the spirit threads would form a single character: 灵 (Spirit).
Not only did the spirit threads form this character when laid out, but they also marked the connections between the various parallel universes. These connections were the foundation for the expanding regions of the megaverse. Each region was based on one of the directly connected parallel universes, and each region had developed unique characteristics based on the foundational universe. These regions were known as the thirty-six domains.
As Old Tao spoke, Lu Yin and the others began to form a clearer understanding of the Spirit Nidus.
Each of the directly connected universes had its own unique characteristics.
For example, in the Tianyuan Megaverse’s Origin Universe, the Astral River had split into multiple tributaries that separated different regions. Once the Heavens Sect was reestablished, countless parallel universes had been connected to the Origin Universe. However, due to how little time had passed since then, Lu Yin had never had a chance to plan out the overall development of the Tianyuan Megaverse.
In contrast, the Spirit Nidus was clearly much more developed. They had plans in place and various methods for utilizing the connections between their parallel universes.
By connecting the different parallel universes to form the character 灵, not only was the Spirit Nidus’s control over the megaverse as a whole amply demonstrated, but their ambition to transcend the concept of a single universe was also revealed. Thus, this was most likely the handiwork of Master Qing Cao.
The regions of the directly connected parallel universes were essentially extensions of those universes, or rather, the distilled essence of those universes. After all, those parallel universes were directly connected to the Spirit Transformation Universe, which meant that they directly faced the Ascendant Hall itself.
