Chapter 1540: Frightening (IV)

Boom!

The chaos tribulation exploded around everyone at the same time.

Li Hao shook, the two fourth ranks vomited blood. Of the four exalted emperors left, the second rank was outright blown to pieces and one of the three third ranks was obliterated as well.

The other two had their physical bodies nearly demolished. Their dao marks prepared to flee, when—

Kaboom!

The domain exploded, delighting the four surviving exalted emperors! Without the domain, the tribulation over their heads suddenly vanished. It no longer threatened them.

This was when Li Hao smiled. He grinned widely with gleaming teeth.

“How about we go again?”

What did he mean by that?

Time seemed to reverse in the next second and the tribulation in the void spontaneously strengthened. The domain reappeared; the four exalted emperors seemed to take a step backwards in unison and reenter the domain.

The tribulation appeared to strengthen even more in this moment! It’d been initial sixth rank before, but now it was mid or even late sixth rank...

Everyone aside from Li Hao was astonished beyond words!

“Time...” Ming Hao murmured.

Despair dawned on Fu Bi’s face. Why was this happening?? They’d broken the domain on pain of death, but now it was here again!

Boom!!

The fourth tribulation thunderbolt was at hand. This time, the two third ranks were annihilated from existence. The remaining mid ranks coughed up more blood as cracks appeared over their bodies.

The two looked at each other with deep despair. How could this be?!

Li Hao smiled faintly. This was the power of time. It’s hard to overcome powerhouses, but is it hard to overcome the two of you? So what if the tribulation’s gotten a bit stronger? With the two of you to help me weather it, it’s the same as me standing against a weak tribulation by myself.

Kaboom!

The fifth thunderbolt was upon them; all three coughed up blood after a massive rumble. Li Hao’s fifth rank strength had almost been smote to the point of dispersing. The two fourth ranks were even worse off!

Chaos wanderer Ming Hao was almost smashed to pieces. “This kind of power shouldn’t appear in the chaos...” he howled with resentment.

“That’s right, so there’s a chaos tribulation right here,” Li Hao laughed heartily. “Do you guys get it now why a tribulation has appeared?”

Ming Hao stopped talking. That was right!

The sixth thunderbolt was upon them. RUMBLE! Massive booms flooded the area and the void was smashed apart. The bodies of the two fourth ranks were obliterated.

Just as despair overwhelmed them, a ray of sword light shot through the air. It pierced through Ming Hao’s great dao!

Li Hao appeared in front of him, directing the river to sweep over the man. Ming Hao still had some energy left to him—he vomited blood without stop.

“Waste not, want not!” laughed the young man.

“Milord Hao Moon, please spare me...”

Bam!

The dao mark shattered!

“I already did before,” Li Hao said quietly. “Or I would’ve killed you on the spot. I gave myself a reason not to kill you. You didn’t treasure the chance!”

Am I a kind person?

I am, because I wanted to kill you early on! But I needed a passable excuse of justice to not kill you. You’re the one who wasted it!

When have I, Li Hao, ever been kind?

Never!

Kindness is reserved for those I know, my friends and family. You’re not one of them.

BOOM!!

A mid rank exalted emperor died completely. The thunder and lightning were upon them once more and struck with a loud rumble. Fu Bi’s dao mark was forced into visibility and a dao universe appeared over it.

The Red Moon dao universe!

A boundless pressure bore down on the vicinity, reaching through the void and even eclipsing the chaos tribulation. The tribulation seemed unfazed; it was unchanged.

A hazy subconscious descended on the scene. It peeked in on the proceedings, seeing the chaos tribulation first.

“Another chaos tribulation...” sounded a wispy voice.

Chaos tribulations had occurred one after another in the chaos lately. The exalted emperors that’d died here all seemed to be related to it. Even fourth ranks were involved this time. The hazy consciousness could somewhat sense the strength of that tribulation.

Sixth rank!

What was going on here?

It could accept a first rank chaos tribulation when Bone Eclipse was killed before, but a sixth rank chaos tribulation was present in Red Moon territory now. That was unacceptable. Were seventh and eighth rank ones close at hand if this continued?

However, the immense consciousness did not make a move or fully travel to the spot. If it came, the chaos tribulation might view its actions as provocation. That might truly induce an eighth rank tribulation then.

The consciousness wasn’t normally afraid of tribulations—they could be weathered. Who was a pushover at that cultivation level?

But right now, tribulations were very undesirable!

New Martial laid in wait and there were other regions in the surroundings keeping an eye on Red Moon. No risks could be chanced now.

The Red Moon master’s consciousness began to fade away, leaving behind his voice. “I will remember you, one who is weathering the tribulation! You must be related to Silver Moon and New Martial. Perhaps you are that New Martial king! Red Moon has listed you as a public enemy!”

The Red Moon master had not caught a glimpse of Li Hao, but neither did he need to. With his level of intelligence, he quickly realized that all of this must have something to do with Silver Moon.

It didn’t matter if the Silver Moon king would die here. The most important was that if he didn’t, Red Moon would hunt him down!

Li Hao didn’t say a word. He slashed his sword down on Fu Bi’s dao mark, breaking it.

The dao universe shook for a moment before vanishing, leaving the Red Moon master’s voice to carry in all directions.

In the distance, the sixth rank trembled with shock. An eighth rank had sent his consciousness to this portion of the universe. Or perhaps he’d even partially come in person!

How could the new king of Silver Moon command such attention?? This was a sixth rank chaos tribulation! It was impossible!

Boom!

Another thunderbolt landed. After standing strong against the sixth rank, Li Hao flew toward the man. The exalted emperor in question turned tail and ran.

He didn’t know what was going on, just that this chaos tribulation was different from the ones of legend. It struck everyone and anyone!

I don’t want to die!

The sixth rank didn’t have the presence of mind to spare for anything else and ran as fast as he could. He didn’t want the tribulation to catch up to him!

Inside the tribulation, Li Hao smiled despite being bathed in blood. I knew it! Who isn’t afraid of death? Even though chaos tribulations aren’t supposed to strike bystanders, who wouldn’t be afraid after seeing so many exalted emperors die moments ago?

The young man grinned brilliantly, tilting his head at the three exalted emperors who wanted to slip away. “Folks, wait right there. You can come with me if I survive this or you can run if I die. It won’t be too late to do so then!”

The three immediately froze, their bodies stiff with fear. Even the eighth rank Red Moon master had sent his voice over. The situation was terrifying! They’d never seen such an occasion before in their lives!

The seventh thunderbolt was upon them. Li Hao’s strength as a fifth rank had almost completely dispersed by the time the sixth rank fled. He had to face the sixth rank tribulation by himself.

According to known information, chaos tribulations numbered nine bolts at least. When it came to a case like Li Hao’s, in which he just slightly reversed time to borrow some strength, he would likely incur a nine bolt tribulation.

That meant there were two bolts left, but the next bolt was sixth rank in power. If this continued, Li Hao would be the one to end up dead. And the critical point was, he could not further utilize the power of time to reverse the situation. If he did, there would be no end to this tribulation as that power conflicted with time.

Several shadows appeared next to Li Hao at this time. He dismissed everyone, throwing Panther, Gan Wuliang, and the transforming Lin Hongyu off to the side.

Lin Hongyu looked at the young man while consolidating her new cultivation realm, then looked at the eighth bolt descending from above. Color drained from her face as she noted that Li Hao’s strength as a fifth rank was fading away. The young man would find it difficult to survive the eighth bolt this way!

He would be in even more danger for the ninth bolt. A sixth rank’s power was not something he could withstand at the moment. The power to reverse time was strong, but the consequences were always an inherent danger.

If the sixth rank hadn’t run just now, Li Hao’s doom might be guaranteed. If he hadn’t, the young man might have been able to drag the sixth rank into his tribulation domain. The circumstances might be a little safer for Li Hao then.

Li Hao clearly had some reservations about what was going to happen since he’d shoved the Silver Moon crew away. He was afraid of dragging them into his troubles.

“Senior Number Two... can you swallow some of the tribulation?” Li Hao quickly asked the cat.

The cat could devour anything and its powers were slightly stronger than Panth’s. Panther could only devour simple matter. Something as complex as a chaos tribulation was completely out of reach.

The lazy Number Two bristled in the river.

“This tribulation is too strong! Can you stop provoking these things for a while?” it complained. “This cat can only devour thirty percent of the tribulation. Can you hold out against the remaining seventy percent?”

And that was only one bolt. What about the next bolt? The last bolt was typically the strongest and the cat couldn’t swallow two in a row. It couldn’t even handle one!

Number Two was strong enough, but it was only a second rank. It wasn’t even as strong as Li Hao. If it wasn’t for its unique constitution, it would’ve been dusted to ash after the first thunderbolt. What option would it have to devour the thunder and lightning?

The young man’s abilities of reversing time were ineffective here. He had to rely on pure strength to block the thunderbolt!

There would be no end to the tribulation if he used the power of time again. The more he relied on reversing time, the faster he would die as the tribulation grew infinitely stronger.
