Chapter 1460: Skyward Major World (II)

“You are fine, it’s just that I’ll be troubling you!” Li Hao nodded after some thought.

“It’s no trouble at all!” Big Claw responded excitedly. “Since it’s the exalted emperor’s first time at Skyward, would you like to circumnavigate it and take a look from the outside?

“The circumference of the world is approximately thirty thousand chaos meters. The senior will need roughly one month to circle it. For someone like me, it would take more than three months!

“Skyward is so vast that there are traces of dao on the world barrier. It’s said that there are even marks of the ninth rank exalted emperor establishing his dao. It’s only that we have eyes, but cannot see where they are. If the exalted emperor circles it, you might see something we do not.”

“That’s alright!” Li Hao shook his head. There wasn’t any meaning to doing that. There were certainly others that had studied Skyward’s world barrier before. Any benefits to be had were theirs a long time ago. How would it ever be his turn?

That was just a waste of time!

“Let’s go inside!” said the young man.

“Alright!” Big Claw quickly led the way. The Empyrean Kings on the two sides respectfully parted ways, watching their brethren lead the newcomer into Skyward.

A message quickly traveled to the major world as well.

The arrival of any exalted emperor needed to be noted. For the local factions, it was best if these exalted emperors didn’t join anyone if they weren’t the option. It was most ideal if these exalted emperors simply took a look around before leaving.

......

The duo set foot through the world barrier with one step. It was like they’d entered a spatial transportation formation; the world spun around them. For the formation to enable an exalted emperor to travel through it and not subject travelers to too much vertigo, it meant that the transportation formation was of high caliber.

Li Hao thought that they would appear in a city, but they emerged in a small town instead.

There were no powerhouses in residence, just an assortment of Empyrean Kings and Saints on duty. They looked at Big Claw, then at Li Hao, understanding that a new exalted emperor had arrived.

“If the senior wishes to leave this place, you simply need to come here,” said one of the Empyrean Kings on guard. “There is no need for any token, you will be directly transported out! However, we must offer a word of caution that it took a great deal of time, effort, and resources for various factions to build this formation.

"If the senior is under pursuit from strong enemies, you are not to damage the formation. That will incite vengeance from Dragon Observatory!

“Skyward is more disorderly than most places. So long as the senior does not affect the transportation formation, no one will intervene even if you fight here!”

In other words, you can brawl however you wish, just don’t sabotage anything. If you do, you’ll feel the wrath of a sixth rank exalted emperor!

Li Hao nodded and said nothing in particular. He was already in a daze as he took in the surroundings. Energy was very dense here; it was so much more concentrated than he could imagine!

What a strong, undiluted atmosphere of energy!

The disarray of the great dao was apparent with a quick probe. This made Skyward quite different from Silver Moon. The major world’s great dao was a jumbled mess and intermixed with a great deal of chaos presence. None of that was present in Silver Moon. Only when the desolate beasts invaded had there been a hint of chaos presence in the world, and it hadn’t been nearly as dense.

The world was so enormous that Li Hao couldn’t sense all of it. What a gigantic world and such an abundance of energy!

Training here for one day would be the equivalent of ten days or one hundred days in Silver Moon! Was this what was meant by a major world? And this was one without a great dao!

No wonder this place enticed so many to come, including powerhouses from other major worlds. Some came with their entire families. In a place like this, cultivation was much faster than regular mid or minor worlds, even in the absence of a dao universe.

This was a wonderful place!

Silver Moon will ascend to major world status if I swallow this world, won’t it?

The thought flashed through his mind; Li Hao goggled at himself. How can I even think that? Look at how many strong guys are around here! Apparently there’s even multiple sixth rank exalted emperors. If I add all of the ones below sixth rank together and the wanderers, won’t that amount to more than one hundred?

They shouldn’t be any weaker than a regular major world. If they are, another world would’ve conquered Skyward a long time ago. Other major worlds don’t dare seize this one, but I dare entertain such thoughts?

Damn, I scare even myself sometimes!

Li Hao, you need to settle down now!

Silver Moon world belongs to the Lis. Since I am part of the Lis, there’s no problem there. But this world is not mine or Silver Moon’s.

Flights of fancy were alright, but Li Hao was quickly dissuaded from his after a preliminary probe. Damn, there’s even a decent size energy mine underground. Although Silver Moon is a mid world now, not enough time has passed. We don’t even have a real energy mine right now!

These guys are so rich!

One mine might not mean much to an exalted emperor, but several hundred or a thousand veins of ore would turn Silver Moon into a cultivation sacred land!

And this was just a small town! There looked to be only one thousand or so inhabitants here. Who knew if they were outsiders or locals? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Countless thoughts came to the forefront of Li Hao’s mind in a split second. He was like a country bumpkin seeing a city for the first time, stunned and overawed at every turn. Everything was a treasure and the young man stared at nondescript items that the Empyrean Kings on duty didn’t care about.

Man, they’re really rich! Look at how luxurious everything is! Even the ground is made out of treasure! This is such a nice place.

The others would likely drool if they saw the world. The Human King had probably never visited—he would rob this place clean if he did!

Granted, that was when he was weak. Given how strong he was now and how his horizons had been broadened, he wouldn’t care about this either, right?

I’m a civilized man of culture... I can’t imitate the Human King!

It was only now that Li Hao came back to his senses. He saw that Big Claw was waiting for him up ahead. The Empyrean King smiled at seeing his guest jerk out of his reverie. This was a common reaction for first-timers.

“Senior, this is the southern region of Skyward major world, the minor region of Dragon Observatory! Skyward is divided into four regions, each of which is further divided into minor regions. They are a world unto their own.

“In the southern region, ours is the biggest minor region. We have the most inhabitants. Apart from Dragon Observatory, there are nine other regions in the south. The overlord of a region is at least a fourth rank exalted emperor!

“The entire south is divided into ten minor regions not because this is the maximum we can have, but because this kind of division makes the most sense. If more exalted emperors wish to put down roots here, they need to either annihilate a region or swear fealty to one of them...”

“It looks like there are many exalted emperors in Skyward,” Li Hao raised with puzzlement. “Apart from being a marketplace for chaos wanderers and a more dense concentration of energy, why are there so many exalted emperors here? Skyward has no dao universe, after all.

“If a sixth rank exalted emperor is willing to spend some time and effort on cultivating a mid world, there is a hope of the world rising to a major world. Once that happens, they can establish their own dao universe and ascend to seventh rank. There’s not much of a chance to do that here, is there?”

This was one of his most pressing questions. It was one thing for other cultivators or wanderers, but what were those sixth rank exalted emperors doing here? There was no point! There wasn’t a dao universe!

As opposed to dawdling here, they were better off using their time to nurture a mid world. That gave them a chance of rising to seventh rank, at least.

There was almost no chance of doing so here.

Big Claw paused and blinked before saying awkwardly, “Ah... the senior speaks truly. However, attaining seventh rank is up to fortune. It’s also as hard as ascending to heaven if one wishes to nurture a mid world into a major world!”

With this, he was certain that his guest was a newly risen exalted emperor. Just listen to these outlandish questions! Some masters of major worlds were only sixth rank. Was a seventh rank exalted emperor attainable by just anyone?

Even possessing a dao universe didn’t automatically catapult one into seventh rank. Not to mention, one didn’t wake up with a dao universe one day. It took a great deal of dao comprehension and enlightenment to attract one!

Only then would one have a hope of luring a dao universe into descending, opening, and growing stronger. This was an extremely difficult task.

All major worlds and dao universes were born due to the personal reflections of premier existences. It didn’t matter where they physically were—it wasn’t a special location that permitted a mid world to produce a dao universe.

Li Hao knew that he was being over the top upon hearing Big Claw’s response.

“I’m newly come into my power and don’t know much about all of this,” he chuckled. “Apologies if I get something wrong! Ah, is there anywhere in Skyward that can help exalted emperors train or with similar opportunities?”

Big Claw heaved a sigh of relief, afraid that his guest would keep spouting nonsense.

“Yes!” he promptly replied. “Skyward is extraordinary as it used to be the home of a ninth rank exalted emperor—the only one within billions of chaos meters.”

Li Hao ran quick calculations. He could move several hundred times a day without a problem. So... did that mean it’d take him one thousand years to cover this distance?

Of course, that’s only because I’m a first rank exalted emperor for now. The stronger I am, the faster I’ll be. It won’t take that long when I reach that level.

“Although this world has declined with the departure of its master, there were many high rank exalted emperors back in the day. They left behind many places of opportunity! And even after all these years, there are still exalted emperors who find something in them!

“There are such places in Dragon Observatory territory. We have three very famous ones! The senior can go take a look at them, but their dao heritage has greatly faded away after so many years. The gains may not be significant now.

“In addition, it is not unusual for conflict to develop over these places. That holds true whether it’s the ones in Dragon Observatory territory or all of Skyward.”

“If they’re freely accessible, why is there conflict?” Li Hao was confused. “Does Dragon Observatory not permit visitors, or are there other restrictions?”

“That’s not the case!” Big Claw decided to explain further after some thought. “What I say next isn’t a secret. Those places have fallen silent—I do not know the particulars since I am not an exalted emperor. There are rumors, however, that the blood or dao of an exalted emperor can bring them back to life!

“That is why large numbers of exalted emperors frequently gather, and some will purposefully pick a fight or cause conflict. Those exalted emperors are usually the stronger ones!”

In other words, Big Claw was recommending Li Hao not to set forth since he was weaker. It would be too dangerous for him!

Sites of dao... using the blood of an exalted emperor to awaken the remnants... How interesting!

No wonder a lot of people set out to visit the sites. If there really were remnants of the dao of high rank exalted emperors and they suited him, then it would be immensely helpful to study them.
