SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows-Chapter 251: One attack
June stopped in her tracks, she turned around and looked at Aren, her eyes turning cold. "What did you say?" she asked, seething from the head as she spoke, she was ready to smash his face right into the ground.
"I know what it feels like," Aren stated.
June stopped, she took a deep breath and then let out a laugh, "hahahah, I’m sorry, I almost lost it," she said, her eyes slowly shifting back into a cold gaze. "Your lack of knowledge shows, sadly things don’t work that way for this family." She said, then turned to leave.
Right when she was walking away, a sudden pressure overlapped the entire place, everyone froze as they felt it press hard against them. Sweat formed on their faces, Aren included, his knees almost buckled.
In that very moment, no one dared move or even look around for what was causing it.
June and Peter immediately went on one knee with their heads bowed while Aren and Athena looked around in shock.
Aren then felt something enter his shadow sense, but immediately, the aura around this figure distorted the shadow sense, it was like Aren could tell there was someone there, but the figure was distorted and twisted.
Finally, the person came into view, walking right through the front. He was the patriarch. He carried an aura that shook the very air, but had a smile plastered on his face.
Aren recalled seeing him during the tournament, he had been sitting at the top with the other VIPs.
He looked at Aren and then smiled softly, "you’re not meant to be here." He said calmly, there was no threatening tone in his voice and he seemed all too calm.
Aren looked right at the patriarch, the aura felt very similar to that of Geisha, an insurmountable mountain that stood against him.
"I’m here because you took someone that’s important to me," Aren stated.
"Hmmm? Interesting," the patriarch said. He took one step and a sudden pressure slammed into Aren. Aren tried to fight against it, but he didn’t even last a second, his knees buckled and he slammed down into the ground, the floor cracking right beneath him.
"Arghhh," he groaned in pain.
"What did you realistically plan to do? You aren’t even able to stand against me, and yet you want to take something that belongs to me," the patriarch said.
"She,,,, is,,,,, not yours," Aren said, gritting his teeth as he slowly started to push himself up.
Athena rushed over to his side, she wrapped her hands around him to help Aren up. "Aren," she cried out as she tried to lift him.
"Aren?" the patriarch muttered, then he looked at Aren. "You are the one that faced the dragon Geisha, you are the special awakened that he wants," the patriarch said, his aura vanished in an instant and a smile formed on his face again.
"Hahahah, so it’s you," he said and walked toward Aren, he grabbed Aren by the back of his shirt and pulled him up easily, looking Aren right into the eye.
"You are the one that has been causing all the noise I’ve been hearing, hahaha," he said.
Aren was taken aback by his free nature, he spoke as though he had no bad intentions and was just a casual and good guy.
"You are a pretty stunning young awakened, but that being said, you can’t come and take what’s mine. Athena is my granddaughter after all," the patriarch said.
Aren immediately stepped in front of Athena, looking the patriarch dead in the eye. "I’m not letting you have her," he said.
The patriarch leaned back, and then smiled wider, "well, I can’t let you take my granddaughter, she and I have to bond and learn about her mother after all," the patriarch said.
"Besides, the tournament is about to end and the next trial will surely start by the end of today, you’ll be forced to leave her here," he added, and those words acted like a bombshell to Aren.
"Today? No, that’s not possible, it can’t be happening today," Aren screamed in his mind.
The patriarch saw the look on Aren’s face and knew that whatever plan Aren had was shattered.
"Seems your plans have been shattered," the patriarch said.
Aren gritted his teeth, and then spoke, "There is no way I’ll leave for the trials without her, it’s not possible," he said, resolute.
"And how do you plan to leave with her?" the patriarch said, looking right at Aren.
Aren smiled, "If I was able to escape Geisha, I’ll be able to escape you and anyone, might not be easy, but I’ll make it out for sure, trust me," Aren said, a sudden confidence filled his voice.
The patriarch saw the confidence and was shocked, he wiped the shock away from his face and then spoke, "Geisha was in a weakened state, kid, you should know that," the patriarch said, his aura exploded outward, it slammed into Aren like a train, he was forced to take a step back.
Peter and June didn’t even dare look up, terrified for their lives, they prayed Aren would back down now and save himself and them from dying, the patriarch was not a forgiving person from what they knew.
"Is this the best you got?" Aren asked, forcing a grin even when a drop of blood was falling down his nose. "If this is the presence of a being like you, then that means I’ll easily surpass you one day.
And here I thought you were meant to be the head of a Royal Family, tch, your power could be better," Aren spoke, his words were like fuel to fire.
June and Peter immediately knew that their lives were over now, Aren had ended it for all of them.
"I see, you have some mouth on you, kid. Well, I have an offer for you, take a full powered attack from me and I’ll allow you to take Athena for now, how does that sound?" the patriarch suddenly offered.
