Chapter 404: The Second Wife

After a while, Ira’s breathing had calmed considerably. She was much more rested now, though she remained comfortably in Leon’s arms, her body still pressed against his.

In her mind, thoughts swirled with significance and weight.

I’ve taken this step now. There’s no going back from this. I’ve chosen my partner.

It wasn’t another Pyrrhan warrior as tradition would dictate, but a human—someone from an entirely different world with different customs and different strengths.

Her heart still hadn’t fully settled on the weight of her decision.

Loving someone was easy, but things that came along were not so much. Anxiety crept through her chest despite the warmth of his embrace.

She looked up at him, her crimson eyes meeting his mystical gaze directly, searching for something she desperately needed to find there.

"You’re not going to leave me, are you, Leon?"

Her voice came out smaller than she’d intended, vulnerable in a way she rarely allowed herself to be.

I know this is a selfish demand. I know it’s unfair to ask.

She was acutely aware of their reality. She could never leave this place—trapped in this realm they were born in. And one day, if that catastrophic monster who killed the lady phoenix returned as Aunt Vyrra had explained during their private conversations, they were most likely all going to die fighting it.

Even still, I’m selfishly asking him not to leave me. Even though he has no way to return to his world anyway, since the portals are guarded by that red dragon...

It was selfish. Completely, utterly selfish.

But that was what she wanted. What she needed to hear.

Leon heard her words clearly and could see the anxious expression on her face—the way her eyes held barely contained worry, the slight trembling in her lower lip.

I can feel the thousands of thoughts that must be racing through her mind right now.

He answered her calmly, his voice steady and absolute. His arms tightened around her waist, pulling her even closer.

"Ira, don’t worry. I’ll never leave you. You’re mine now—you’ll be with me for the rest of your life. Forever."

His words struck like an arrow directly into her heart.

Part of her had expected disappointment—had prepared herself to be only slightly upset when he explained the practical realities. She knew he had his own world to return to eventually. He couldn’t stay here with her indefinitely; with his strength, he might find a way to return, even if the chances were slim, instead of waiting to die in some doomed last stand.

But he said I’ll be with him forever. He is going to stay with me for me. I’ll be WITH him.

Her heart started beating like crazy against his chest, so loud she was certain he could feel it.

He doesn’t care about the impossibilities, obstacles, or possible end. That’s how much he loves me.

Her thoughts screamed with overwhelming emotion.

LEON! I love you so, so much! You’re mine forever, too!

Her physical response was immediate. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, hugging him with all her strength, a brilliant smile spreading across her face that Leon couldn’t see from his angle but could absolutely feel in the way her entire body radiated joy.

"I love you, Leon~."

The words came out clear and certain, no hesitation whatsoever.

Leon felt the intensity of her embrace, the genuine emotion pouring from her.

"Mhh... I love you too, Ira."

His voice carried equal sincerity, his hand continuing to trace soothing patterns across her back.

Ira stayed like that for quite a while, just hugging him tightly, her face buried against his shoulder while Leon caressed her back gently. Her expression remained hidden, but he could feel her contentment radiating through every point of contact.

After several long minutes of comfortable silence, the hug finally ended.

Ira pulled back slightly, and her voice came out excited and eager as she looked directly into his eyes.

"Leon! I want to make love again!"

Hearing her enthusiastic request, Leon leaned forward and kissed her forehead tenderly. With a warm smile, he asked:

"Should I teach you how I make love in my world?"

Ira’s head bobbed curiously at his question, excitement clearly audible in her voice.

She’d already understood from yesterday’s conversation—when he’d asked all those questions about Pyrrhan intimacy—that their race’s methods seemed completely foreign to him.

I want to experience how he makes love, too. I’m really curious and excited to find out!

Though in the back of her mind, a small voice insisted: Of course, there’s nothing that could be better than what I experienced before. That was perfect.

She couldn’t wait to do it again, to feel that connection and the pleasure all around her body.

Hearing her excited, affirmative reply, Leon stood up smoothly from the bench while still holding her. His hands gripped her ass cheeks firmly as he lifted her, her weight feeling like nothing to his enhanced strength.

Her legs wrapped around his waist instinctively for balance.

Ira smiled lightly and asked with curiosity, "Where are we going?"

Leon responded by kissing her lips—a quick peck that nonetheless made Ira’s thoughts go almost completely blank for a few seconds.

That feeling again... what IS that?

His reply came with a light, teasing tone.

"We can’t do it out here in the open. We’re going somewhere private."

WHOOOOSH!

It was a place he’d constructed yesterday in this very park—a small house only a couple of hundred meters away. With his speed, they arrived in mere seconds.

FWOOSH!

Ira looked at the structure they’d arrived at. It appeared different from the typical architecture Pyrrhans built—more angular, with different material composition and design philosophy.

I noticed this house yesterday but hadn’t paid much attention to it then.

Leon carried her inside, and Ira immediately noticed the interior design. Everything looked meticulously organized and aesthetically pleasing.

"This is really nice, Leon! Did you make all of this?"

Her compliment was genuine, impressed by the craftsmanship, it was different but looked pleasing to the eye.

They continued through the structure until they arrived in what was clearly a bedroom.
