Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Royal Guardians

"Adonis, I am sorry for bringing you into this trouble. I really tried, I did..."

Mariana cried, looking broken by the betrayal of her family.

Adonis gently pulled her into his chest, then wiped her tears with his clawed fingers.

"I know you did everything you could, Maria. I do not blame you. But your father has crossed a line. I fear that in the future, he will cease to be..."

The threat was clear and loud.

Every noble, every minister heard it. Their faces twisted with anger.

"What a hateful bastard!"

Ignoring their reactions, Adonis was about to leave the perimeter along with Mariana and Claudia.

However, at that moment, several powerful auras emerged from three directions.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!

One aura blazed like raging fire, another crashed like a tsunami of water, and the last howled like a living earth storm.

Three old men in Royal Ceremonial robes followed after.

"The Royal Guardians... They are here."

"They will finally capture this insolent fool!"

The nobles cheered at their arrival.

King Magnus smiled coldly.

"Did you think I would let you leave after you threatened this Kingdom and myself, Adonis Kingsbane?"

Adonis turned around with the same regal air, Mariana hovering beside him on her own Celestial wings.

He looked at the three old men who radiated a pressure above level 80. The very space they occupied had become their own elemental domains.

Facing them in his current form would be extremely difficult.

Despite that, he remained calm. After all, he still had one last card to play. And this card would force them to step aside and allow Adonis and Mariana to leave.

"You are making a grave mistake, King Magnus. If you do not let us leave right now, I assure you this entire City will not be left unscathed. Everything you have built will crumble right before your eyes, and you will be helpless to stop it."

King Magnus watched Adonis without changing his expression. His gaze was calm, almost detached, as if he were observing something inevitable rather than uncertain.

"Catastrophic threats are the language of desperate men. And desperate men rarely survive."

He lifted a hand, and the three Royal Guardians moved at once.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

They spread out in a triangular formation, each claiming a section of space. The air shifted around them. Heat surged to the left, moisture gathered to the right, and the ground itself reacted beneath them.

Fire, water, and earth formed three distinct domains, closing in without leaving an opening.

"Last chance," the fire guardian said. "Come quietly, boy."

Adonis said nothing at first, but a thin curl of golden smoke slipped from his nostrils.

"I already gave you that chance."

The fire guardian attacked first.

SIZZZLE! SIZZLE!

A massive column of flame surged forward.

Swish!

Adonis cut through it with his claw, his chaotic energy dispersing the attack. He pushed forward and struck the guardian’s barrier, cracking it and forcing the old man backward.

Before he could follow up, water wrapped around him from behind. The pressure was immense, dragging at his wings.

He broke free with a powerful beat, but the effort cost him energy.

Then the earth guardian struck.

"SWOOOSH!"

A spear of compressed stone shot upward and hit him across the side.

"Argh.."

The impact forced a grunt from him as he twisted midair to lessen the damage. A thin line of golden blood traced down his scales.

They pressed him from all sides.

Individually, he could match them barely. Together, they forced him into a disadvantage he could not ignore.

Below, Mariana called out, "Adonis, don’t die before you give me a baby and make us a family."

Claudia had already pulled her behind cover, her shield barely holding against the shockwaves from the battle.

Adonis smiled at Mariana’s words.

But he also knew this could not continue.

The guardians regrouped. Their domains overlapped.

"BUZZZ. BUZZZ. BUZZ!"

Fire, water, and earth converged at once, amplifying each other into a single combined attack.

It struck him fully.

"BANGGG!"

He was driven out of the sky and slammed into the arena floor.

BOOOM!

The impact created a massive crater, sending a shockwave through the palace grounds.

Windows shattered across the surrounding district, and dust filled the air.

The guardians descended slowly, watching cruelly.

Then, from within the crater, two glowing eyes opened.

Something had changed.

"BUZZZZZZZZZ!"

The pressure rising from the crater was different. It did not belong to any known element.

BOOM!

The ground cracked outward, and the air was charged.

Light followed. FLASH!

Gold and purple energy rose in a column, piercing through the dust and climbing into the sky. It was visible across the entire Capital.

This was not an explosion.

This was a transformation.

"Stop him!" one guardian shouted in alarm. "He is going through a transformation."

Alas, too late.

BZZZZZZZ!

A deep vibration spread through the area, not quite a sound but something that could be felt. The crater split further apart.

Adonis rose, but not in his previous form.

The Primordial Chaos Dragon emerged in full.

HUMMMMM!

His body stretched massive and overwhelming, covered in gold and purple scales that reflected shifting light. His wings extended wide, larger than the destroyed arena itself.

Energy radiated through them with each slow beat.

His eyes were no longer gold. They had turned into a deep, shifting purple.

The transformation alone unleashed a powerful shockwave.

RUUMMMBLLLLEEEE!

Buildings that had survived earlier damage collapsed completely. Streets cracked and shifted, sections of the city walls gave way under the pressure.

The guardians stopped moving.

For the first time, none of them spoke.

Adonis looked down at them from above.

Then he moved.

His claw struck the ground, sending a localized quake through the area.

"RUMBLE!"

The earth fractured outward. When he stepped forward, another shockwave followed, causing already weakened structures to collapse further.

The fire guardian reacted first, launching a sustained stream of intense flame.

Adonis opened his mouth.

Chaos Ultima came without warning.

"BUZZZ!"

Instantly, a torrent of gold and purple energy surged forward, overwhelming the flames instantly.

It broke through the earth guardian’s defenses and consumed the water guardian’s counterattack.

The attack only stopped after reaching the far edge of the Capital.

Soon, a large section of the outer wall disappeared entirely.

The shockwave that followed spread through the city, causing widespread destruction: buildings collapsed, roads split apart, and entire districts were left in ruins.

Outside the city, those who had fled could only watch. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"Heavens! This is a fight of Gods!"

The citizens alrey aware: this was no longer a battle.

It was a calamity.

The fight continued.

"BOOOOM! BOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOM!"

For an hour, both sides clashed repeatedly.

The guardians adapted and coordinated their attacks, managing to wound Adonis multiple times.

As a result, golden blood marked his scales.

But they could not stop him at all.

They endured, resisted, and countered where they could. Their experience allowed them to survive longer than most ever could.

Still, they could not gain control of the fight.

After an hour, the three guardians hovered in the air, visibly worn out.

Their domains flickered, weaker than before, and their bodies bore clear signs of damage.

Nonetheless, they were still standing.

Below them, Adonis, the Chaos Dragon hovered as well. His wings moved slower now, his breathing heavier. His energy reserves were nearing their limit.

He looked at them; and they looked back.

The city beneath them had been reduced to ruins.

Neither side had won.

Neither side had lost.

But it was clear to all of them that the next move would decide everything.
