Chapter 270: Meteor Strike

Mika stared at Cecilia for a long second, lips parted in genuine disbelief.

Then he laughed, low and incredulous, shaking his head.

"Wow. I did not see that coming."

"That’s literally the first time I’ve ever told anyone my ridiculous plan. I don’t even know why I blurted it out to you. I was a hundred percent sure you’d call me a greedy pervert and slap me."

Cecilia just smiled, cheeks pink.

"But instead, you did the exact opposite and I got to say..." He continued, leaning closer until their frozen breaths mingled. "...every word that comes out of your mouth makes you even more attractive."

"You’re making it really hard for a guy to stay sane, Doctor."

Her smile turned playful as she asked, "Does that mean I’m officially on the candidate list for your future harem?"

Mika’s grin sharpened, lips almost brushing hers.

"Do you want to be?"

She pretended to think about it, tapping her chin, then looked straight into his eyes.

"Maybe." She whispered. "Maybe I do. I haven’t sorted my feelings yet...but the idea doesn’t scare me at all."

He chuckled before his voice dropped to a husky murmur as he asked, "Well, list aside...how do you feel about a passionate kiss right here, right now?"

Cecilia didn’t hesitate.

"That..." She said instantly. "I can confirm I want without any doubt."

And immediately, their mouths crashed together.

"Mmm!♡~ Mmm!♡~ Kiss!♡~ Mmm!♡~ Slurp!♡~"

The scene was of hungry tongues sliding, teeth nipping, breath stolen and returned in hot, desperate bursts. Mika’s hands kneaded her ass harder, fingers spreading her cheeks beneath her clothes, pulling her so tightly against him that she could feel every ridge of his body through the layers.

Cecilia threw her arms around his neck, lifting herself on tiptoes, moaning softly into his mouth as she sucked greedily on his tongue.

The blizzard around them might as well have been a summer day. Heat radiated off their bodies; snowflakes melted the instant they touched their skin.

Cecilia went even further as her hands slipped under his coat, greedily tracing the hard lines of his abs and chest she’d only glimpsed earlier. Mika answered by sliding one palm up her dress, cupping a breast and rolling her nipple between cold fingers until she gasped.

His other hand dove between her thighs, two fingers pushing past soaked panties to sink deep inside her. She whimpered into the kiss, hips rocking instinctively, begging for more.

They were seconds away from dropping into the snow and fucking right there in the open, consequences be damned.

But then—

"You two! What are you doing over there?" Fauna’s cheerful voice cut through the storm. "Come into the dome already! You’ll catch a cold!"

They sprang apart like guilty teenagers.

Coats were yanked straight, hair smoothed, lips wiped. By the time Fauna reached them, both were flushed scarlet and panting, snowflakes melting on burning skin.

Cecilia worried for a moment that Fauna would realize what they were doing, but Fauna interpreted their state in a completely different manner.

Fauna took one look and clucked her tongue.

"Oh, you poor things, you’re completely frozen! Faces all red, breathing like you ran a marathon!"

She grabbed Cecilia’s hands and rubbed them warmly between her own, then did the same to Mika.

"Come on, let’s get you inside before you turn into icicles."

Mika and Cecilia exchanged a quick, secret glance and had to bite back laughter.

Fauna then looked at Mika with an extremely prideful and happy gaze and suddenly hugged him tightly, before whispering into his ear,

"You did good, Mika. You did good, really good today. Honestly, without you, I would have struggled. I’m so glad you came with me today."

Mika, surprised and touched, hugged her back.

Then, noticing Cecilia standing alone, he spoke up.

"You too, Cecilia, come on! You also did your best today!"

"N-no, I couldn’t possibly intrude—" Cecilia squeaked.

"Nonsense!" Fauna laughed, pulling her into the warm tangle of arms. "Hugs are meant to be shared."

Cecilia, feeling the warmth of their combined affection, thought that even though she wasn’t officially part of the family, in this moment, she truly felt like she belonged. It made her feel satisfied and hotter than she had felt even during their passionate kissing.

The moment of familial warmth lasted until Fauna finally pulled back, about to suggest they retreat into the dome to relax.

But just then, a sound tore across the valley—

a deafening, crackling roar like ten thunderstorms ripping open the sky at once.

Every head snapped toward the mountain peak.

The portal, which had only been a faint shimmer moments ago, was now a raging wound of light.

Violent blue-white arcs of frost-lightning whipped out of the rift, striking the surrounding cliffs and sending sheets of ice splintering off in glittering cascades.

Then the air warped.

Something colossal pressed against the fabric of the portal from the other side—

—and stepped through.

An ice golem the size of a three-story fortress crashed down onto the mountain slope, its landing splitting the earth like a meteor strike.

Snow erupted in a tidal wave, blasting outward with a bone-rattling—BOOM!—that shook the valley floor.

Then another emerged.

And another.

In seconds, the mountainside was crawling with them—

Ten...fifteen...thirty titanic behemoths, each carved from ancient glacier stone, their bodies veined with glowing frost-blue sigils.

Their eyes—two burning orbs of cold wrath, locked onto the camp far below.

A collective gasp rippled through the survivors before collapsing into sheer panic.

"They’re coming down! They’re coming down the mountain!"

"Oh god—ICE GOLEMS! Those are A-class monsters!"

"We’re dead! We’re actually dead!"

Adrian shoved through the crowd, trying to shout over the rising hysteria.

"Everyone, stay calm! Stay—"

But even his voice faltered.

Even he went pale.

No one, not even the hunters had prepared for a full invasion wave.

Not today.

Not after everything they’d already survived.

And above them, the golems began their descent, each footstep a quake, each breath a storm.

But while everyone else was panicking, Mika was momentarily confused. He was trying to figure out the situation.

He had assumed this portal was a deliberate challenge sent by the Will of the World to draw him out and that was the feeling it gave him.

However, this deployment didn’t seem right. The portal had only sent about 30 or so A-class Ice Golems.

In a normal situation, this would be an extremely dangerous situation and it would be classified as S-class portal, requiring a team of five A-class blessed or a single S-class blessed.

This was because blessed were generally stronger than their otherworldly counterparts from classes A to F.

A single A-class blessed could tackle multiple A-class creatures.

But from the S-class onwards, their strength was much more equal and a single S-class needed to focus all his strength on a single S-class monster.

It was why they were called Rift Bosses or Overlords.

That’s why in a situation like this where there were no A-class blessed and only B-class, it was catastrophic.

But for Mika, it was barely an exercise. He could’ve taken them all down with his bare hands.

But while he was figuring out if he had thought wrongly, Fauna’s demeanor shifted entirely.

The bright, gentle woman from before was gone.

A dark, suffocating aura began to rise around her—the air thick with an invisible plague.

Her eyes darkened, her hair seeming to float unnaturally as raw divine energy rippled outward. Every healer, medic, and survivor nearby instinctively backed away.

"Fauna—" Mika began, but it was too late.

She’d seen them—the golems marching down the mountainside, their bodies glowing from within, the frost beneath their feet freezing solid in their wake.

And when she saw those same monsters threatening the lives of the people Mika had just risked everything to save, her entire being snapped.

She raised her hand. Her aura flared. The air warped.

Then—

A blinding light tore across the sky.

Everyone froze. The golems did too, their massive heads turning upward.

Above the battlefield, streaks of light—dozens of them—cut through the clouds like falling stars. One heartbeat later, the first impact came.

BOOM!

A thunderous explosion rattled the valley as something slammed into the front line of golems. The impact scattered shards of ice and stone in every direction.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

More meteors fell, each one hitting with perfect accuracy, smashing through the hulking ice giants as if they were made of glass.

The shockwaves rolled down the slopes, throwing snow into the air like ocean waves until finally the blinding flashes faded one by one, leaving behind smoldering craters where the golems once stood.

For a long moment, no one dared to move. The silence that followed was so thick it seemed to swallow sound itself.

"What...What was that?"

Adrian, eyes wide, whispered hoarsely, as he has initially thought it was Fauna. But then realised that Fauna wasn’t someone who summon meteors.

Then came the answer.

A figure descended from the heavens, haloed by the remnants of divine light.

Her long, flowing hair was the color of pure snow—white, untouched, radiant beneath the fractured sky.

Her eyes, however, burned a deep, blood-crimson, glowing faintly as she hovered in the air.

Her beauty was unearthly—cold, graceful, and terrifying all at once.

She floated above the mountain like a goddess of judgment.

The few surviving golems that has just emerged froze where they stood.

Everyone else dropped to their knees.

"Who...Who is that...?" Cecilia’s voice trembled.

Mika looked up, his lips curling into a knowing, almost fond smile.

"...Nadia Lunayeva Terranova."

He said quietly.

"...The Celestial Maiden of Heaven and Earth."
