SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 20: Otherworld Mission Center
Chapter 20 - Otherworld Mission Center
Ainsworth didn't expect that Elyndra would go as far as to give him an SSS-rank Abandon Mission Card.
If others knew that he had this, although they wouldn't go as far as assassinate him due to Edenbridge High's protection, they would still pressure him in different ways to hand it over.
Although the SSS-rank Abandon Mission Cards owned by Elyndra might not be just a few, they were still limited. It was not something that could easily be given just to anyone unless they had a close or intimate relationship.
Even Ainsworth couldn't help but have some doubts on whether Elyndra had special feelings for him but he dared not overthink it.
After all, the three questions in life were "Who am I?", "Does she like me?", and "What to eat for breakfast?".
In this life, aside from his family and best friends, the ones he had unresolved feelings about were with Elyndra.

In his past life, he was doing very well and was even about to succeed in life and get the girl. But before he could confess to Elyndra and know whether she had feelings for him or not, he was brought to this parallel world for no reason.
It was like getting over your eighth-grader syndrome, deciding that delusions and fantasy would only hinder life, then grinding like hell just to become a winner in life. Just when you became the richest man in the world, you died before you could enjoy your hard-earned wealth.
What was the point of grinding if all of it would be left in the past life?
However, the wise men were right about one thing: grinding was truly eternal.
'I have already grind like hell in my past life and after being thrown into this world, I still need to grind. Even with a system, at most, it only gives me an advantage but doesn't grant me absolute certainty that everything.'
'No matter what, I need to participate in Otherworld Missions to not only improve my power and increase my awakener rank, but also for my school ranking in Edenbridge High.'
'Unlike before students in our school year awakened their class at 16, the rankings were no longer based on background, talent, and grades but by awakener rank alone.'
'In other words, I won't be stuck at Rank 3 anymore and if I have the highest awakener rank, I'll be Rank 1.'
Ainsworth's grades were better than Elyndra and Mira and his talent as seen by the Eye of Destiny was equal to Elyndra and Mira's. However, his background was only that of a middle-class family so he was ranked lower than Elyndra and Mira and could only place as the Rank 3 student.
'With the SSS-rank Abandon Mission Card, I don't have to worry much about my safety. However, I also can't disregard it as Rian and Dante don't have one.'
Thinking of his two best friends, Ainsworth wasn't ruthless enough to abandon them as they were considered his sworn brothers. He trusted them enough to let them protect his back as he would do the same for them.
Leaving the locker room, Ainsworth checked the time and saw that the afternoon class was about to start so he immediately teleported inside the classroom and took Rian and Dante with him.
Rian and Dante left the classroom with him and the three of them were heading towards one of the facilities of Edenbridge High.
Although it might look like they were skipping class, what they planned to do was still considered part of their classwork.
After walking for five minutes, they arrived at the Mission Center.
Edenbridge High's Mission Center was like any other high school's. It had a vast space and there wasn't anything in it aside from a conspicuous floating cube at the center of the room.
The floating cube was huge in size and golden in color. It was transparent and was levitating on a circular platform that was hollow on the inside. A combination of mana, aura, and another unknown energy kept it afloat.
The floating cube was called the "Otherworld Mission Center" and was said to contain part of the Earth's Will.
If an awakener wanted to partake in Otherworld Missions, they don't necessarily have to apply at the Otherworld Mission Center. They could just ask the Earth's Will via the Voice of The World.
However, if an awakener planned to team up with other awakeners, using the Otherworld Mission Center was a must.
Aside from Rian, Dante, and Ainsworth, there were also other students and even school staff present in the Mission Center.
Those students were like them who planned to partake in the Otherworld Mission as a group. Some of them were in the same grade as Ainsworth, Rian, and Dante, while others were their seniors.
A few of the school staff were also participating in the Otherworld Mission while the rest were guarding the Mission Center.
After observing his surroundings and looking at his schoolmates, Ainsworth shifted his attention back to his teammates.
"Are you ready guys?"
Dante nodded and held Rian's hand, "We already planned this years ago."
Holding Dante's hand with his right hand, Rian extended his left hand to Ainsworth while saying, "I've been waiting to show off my skills in the Otherworld."
Ainsworth chuckled after hearing Rian's confident words and held his hand.
With his left hand free, he raised it towards the Otherworld Mission Center and shouted, "In the glory of the Earth, we hereby partake in the Otherworld Mission!"
Ainsworth didn't have to necessarily shout and could just mutter it. However, it was their first time participating in the Otherworld Mission so he felt that it should at least have a sense of ceremony.
Just after speaking the chant, Ainsworth, Rian, and Dante heard the Voice of The World and a screen appeared in front of them.
-Ding!
