Chapter 183: Now its my turn

Damon’s heart almost stopped. "Wait! Wait! Wait!" He interrupted her before things turned ugly. He did not want another woman showing her neck to him when he was already in such a big mess. "Just cut your wrist or something and collect the blood in this vial. This should be enough."

Kate’s stare became noticeably softer after hearing the exchange. Sylvara did as he told and quickly gave him the small vial of blood. Damon swirled it and then drank it slowly, savoring every bit of it. He would really be lying if he said he did not enjoy the drink.

The bloodline in her blood was not as prominent as Aurora’s, but it was definitely there. He couldn’t gauge its power or rarity because the concentration was so less, but it was definitely still there.

"Thanks a lot. I am glad to hear this." Sylvara smiled and nodded when he told her about it. "I was afraid I screwed up a lot by using a low-grade evolution stone."

"It’s fine. I would say that there was no irreparable damage done. Later on, I can maybe help you find something that can undo this mistake and make your foundation stronger."

Sylvara gratefully nodded. "You were also correct. After evolution, my stats have received a big boost, and my combat powers have increased, a lot better than what was expected. But there is some sort of instability still, and I think I should wait at least for a few hours before attempting to form a mana core. What do you think?"

"That should be the right way to go." Damon agreed with her. The two of them continued to chat for a while when the next person finally finished evolving. Unlike Sylvara, Mark just silently stood up. "I am done." That was all he said.

Damon gave him a fist bump, and the two silently stood next to each other as they watched the last person finish her evolution. Everyone stared in utter shock as Aurora’s evolution was the most flashy, to say the least.

Even Damon, who had seen his fair share of absurd things by now, felt his mouth go dry. "This is insane..."

When Aurora finished her evolution, her body was wrapped in layers of radiant light that shimmered like moonlit silk. Her eyes glowed with a serene golden hue that made the person staring at them completely mesmerized.

She was unbelievably breathtaking. Even more so than Sylvara. None of the women he had seen in his life until now could even come close to her beauty. She looked like an angel who had stepped right out of heaven.

Literally.

Six floating halos spun lazily behind her, each emitting a divine light, like celestial chimes heard in a dream. Runes floated across her skin in graceful spirals, shifting in and out of visibility.

Everything about her had become completely amplified. She opened her eyes and gently and gracefully walked forward, and yet everyone could say that she was packed to the brim with power.

Even Mark couldn’t help but stare at her with his mouth wide open. Damon was in the same boat as he stared at the celestial woman, his mouth wide open, but then suddenly his gaze met Aurora’s, and the woman gave him an intense look in return.

Damon felt as if lightning had struck him. This was when he realized something crucial. The woman was walking directly to him. Snap out of it, Damon! You cannot possibly be standing like a statue when that bomb is walking towards you to explode.

He thought of the words Sylvara spoke to him after the evolution, and became extremely nervous when he imagined what this one might say. He needed to act better this time. Faster.

Breaking the silence, he quickly spoke up. "Great. Everyone has successfully finished their evolution! Congratulations to the winners. Let’s not waste any more time. Sylvara and Aurora, you should start already."

Aurora’s face changed a little, but Damon quickly added. "I mean, I only say this because I need you to come back as soon as possible. Both of you, I mean." The priestess seemed to accept his words and nodded.

The two women then exchanged silently glances before Aurora cast a pair of wings on Sylvara, and both of them gently floated up the hole on the floor that was yet to be repaired. "Shout! If there is any trouble!" Damon added with an awkward laugh.

Both Mark and Kate gave him weird looks. Clearly, something suspicious was going on here.

Inside his mind, Blood Reign completely lost it. "Master, you are the best! Baha ha ha! You know how to keep a weapon spirit entertained! Ba ha ha ha! What is going to happen when they all find out?"

Damon ignored the woman and let out a sigh. Things were indeed getting out of hand. He needed to get a handle on this shit and sit down and talk with them.

Otherwise, he was on the verge of becoming some sort of a sleezebag who was hiding things from the women in his life. He did not want such a situation to happen. He was definitely not a sleezebag. He was an honest and good person.

He thought about the conversations he would have to go through, and more sweat started pouring down his head. Wait, he didn’t have to worry about all of this right now. They were in a god-damn metallic prison.

Yes, this can wait until they all get out of here. He let out a sigh and swallowed. For now, he had worse things to worry about. He turned and looked at the intense mana field that wasn’t affected even a little bit affected by the three of them evolving and sucking in the mana.

How powerful must the grid be? He quickly put away all the other troublesome issues out of his mind and focused on the task at hand. He might not be the best when dealing with certain things, but this.. he was confident about.

Damon grinned at the ridiculously dense mana grid. "Fine. You are powerful, but now it’s my turn. Let’s see how you are holding up after this."

He was confident that he would be able to drain at least 10% of its power! That should reveal a chink in the armor that he could explot.

With Sylvara and Aurora gone to explore the other parts of the metallic fortress, Mark and Kate stood as guards while Damon finally sat down to attempt his personal breakthrough.

The others had undergone their evolution process, but he was going to take a step even further. He was going to form his first mana core.

Damon was actually waiting to start this process because he was searching for an ideal condition, but the situation in front of him seemed as ideal as possible. The terrifyingly dense mana field gave him the right pressure and resources to form the first foundation.

Meanwhile, somewhere inside the metallic fortress, a pair of green eyes flashed open. "An insect has forced my hand this much." The man gnashed his teeth in annoyance as his figure slowly materialized.
