Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 750 - 730 Explosive News (Part 1)
The voice on the other end of the phone conveyed surprise, "What’s the matter?"
With tears in her voice, Su Yan sobbed, "I’m at the Lijing Apartment on Mira Road now! I... I accidentally killed Huo Zhenyang’s cousin! What should I do—her housekeeper will probably be back soon, what should I do... I can’t go to prison, I can’t..."
After a silence of ten seconds, the voice finally spoke up, "Calm down first. Did anyone see you when you went to Huo Zhenyang’s cousin’s apartment?"
"No... there shouldn’t have been," Su Yan recalled in panic, "Lijing is a new apartment complex with a low occupancy rate, and it’s working hours now. Most of the residents aren’t home. Nobody saw me when I entered and took the elevator up to her apartment... But there are surveillance cameras in the building!"
The man thought for a moment, "Listen to me, I’ll send someone over within fifteen minutes to clean up the scene and take care of everything. What you need to do now is to use Xiaolei’s phone to text her housekeeper, pretending to be Xiaolei, say you’ve made plans with Chu Jiayi to go home for some urgent matter and don’t want to be disturbed, asking the housekeeper to come back later."
Tell the housekeeper Xiaolei made plans with Jiayi?
Surprised, Su Yan didn’t think much further, "Then what? What else do I need to do?"
The man paused, his tone growing more sinister and eerie, "Next, use Xiaolei’s phone to send a text to Chu Jiayi, asking her to come to Huo Zhenyang’s cousin’s apartment."
Su Yan was stunned, "You’re planning to—"
"If you don’t want to end up in prison, just do as I say."
The man’s voice grew progressively more somber, like a specter from hell.

Jiayi was revising the design draft for her bridal shop on her computer when her phone vibrated.
She picked up the phone and glanced at it - it was a message from Xiaolei.
A simple sentence: Come to my apartment, I’ll tell you about the day we went to Disheng, but come alone and don’t tell your cousin and the others.
Her expression flickered.
A few hours ago, in a phone call with Xiaolei, she was still clenching her teeth, refusing to admit that she and Su Yan sneaked into the study at Disheng that day.
Now she had a change of heart?
Ordinarily, she couldn’t be bothered with Xiaolei’s calls for a meeting.
But this time...
It concerned the man’s affairs.
If she could persuade Xiaolei, trip up Su Yan, at least she might be able to do something for him.
After pondering for a moment, she shut down the computer, changed her clothes, and went downstairs.
Auntie Li saw her heading out and asked, "It’s getting late, is the young madam going out?"
"Yeah, there’s something I need to take care of."
"Where is the young madam going? I’ll call the driver to get the car ready."
Jiayi said, "No need, I’ll drive myself, I’ll be back soon."
Xiaolei’s text warned her to come alone. If she brought someone with her, that petulant woman would surely change her mind again.
Auntie Li was used to the young madam coming and going alone and knew she didn’t like being followed, so she said nothing more and watched the young madam leave the house.
Jiayi retrieved a car from the Huo Mansion’s garage, drove out of the villa compound, and sped toward her destination.
Upon arriving at the entrance of Lijing Apartment, Jiayi parked the car, got out, and walked toward the apartment building. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Lijing Apartment was one of Yunling’s upscale apartment buildings, with extremely high land values. Although it was located in a bustling area of the city, it was tucked away in a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle.
The chic and exquisite modern apartment building was hidden behind the lively streets and roads, surrounded by lush green belts.
Today was a working day, and it was not yet off hours, so the apartment was deserted and quiet, with few people around.
Although this was one of the Huo Family’s properties in Yunling, Jiayi had never been here before and only knew that Xiaolei lived on the twelfth floor.
She took the elevator to the twelfth floor. The elevator doors "dinged" open.
The silence of the hallway made the atmosphere feel constricted and tense.
Jiayi felt her palms sweat inexplicably, as she stepped out of the elevator.
Since Lijing Apartment had one household per elevator, each floor had only one unit. Therefore, Jiayi walked directly to the end of the corridor, to the brown security door, and pressed the doorbell.
But after a long while, there was no response.
Her gaze drifted downward and she realized the door was ajar.
With a twinge of suspicion in her heart, she pushed open the door and took two steps inside, calling out softly, "Xiaolei."
Still there was no response.
Her instincts twitched, and she had an ominous feeling that something was amiss. She stopped in her tracks at the entryway and didn’t go any further, cautiously raising her voice:
"Xiaolei, I’m here, didn’t you have something to tell me—"
Before the words were finished, something struck the back of her neck heavily.
The force wasn’t great, but the technique was obviously very skilled, aiming precisely for the spot that could knock a person unconscious.
Her vision went dark, and her body slumped down.
*
She didn’t know how much time had passed, but with a dull throbbing in her temple, Jia Yi flickered her eyelashes and opened her eyes.
Above her was the ceiling.
Beneath her were the cold tiles of the living room...
She propped herself up, trying to sit up, and felt something sticky and slimy on her palms.
There was a smell of blood under her nose.
A wave of nausea rushed to her throat, and she reflexively felt like vomiting.
Looking to the side, her pupils suddenly contracted, it was blood...
Her whole body was lying in a pool of blood, but it was clearly not her own.
A reflexive sweep to the side made her gasp.
A familiar figure was lying on the ground, the head covered in blood, the once delicate face torn and lacerated, leaving not a single piece of intact skin, a ghastly and dreadful sight!
It was Xiaolei!
Jia Yi let out a low cry of alarm, shrinking back, what on earth had happened...
Before she could get up, footsteps came from the entryway.
Then the sound of a bag of groceries hitting the floor with a "plop", and the scream of the middle-aged nanny reverberated through the room:
"Ah—Ah—There’s been a killing—"
*
The Huo Mansion in the evening.
The young master had returned from the city hall, and Auntie Li had finished preparing the meals, yet the young mistress had not returned.
As the sky darkened, so too did Huo Zhenyang’s expression: "Didn’t she say where she was going?"
"No," Auntie Li grew anxious as well. The young mistress usually didn’t like to be followed when she went out and didn’t often use the villa’s car. The young master was slowly becoming more indulgent of her, so when the young mistress left today, Auntie Li didn’t pay much attention, but now that it was nearing dinner time and she hadn’t come back, worry set in.
Just then, the sharp ring of the telephone in the living room pierced the silence.
Auntie Li thought it was Jiayi calling back and, relieved, quickly answered the phone. Barely two seconds later, her face changed:
"Yes... right..."
Then her face turned pale, and she widened her eyes in disbelief: "No way?!"
Huo Zhenyang’s eyes darkened instantly, his gaze hardening like ice as it locked onto Auntie Li.
Auntie Li stammered: "It’s... it’s a call from the police... they said the young lady was... was assaulted at the apartment, the young mistress was there, witnessed by the nanny, and has now been taken to the police station..."
*
Yunling Police Station, the holding cell.
Several hours had passed, and Jiayi was still in a daze.
Her head felt dizzy, and her legs were as soft as if stepping on cotton.
In front of her eyes, the scene seemed to still hover—a great pool of blood, and Xiaolei’s face hideously smeared with it...
Then there was the nanny’s uncontrollable screaming, as she rolled and crawled, which brought the property security on patrol to the floor.
