Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 540 - 538: Will the Little Bird Be the Same as Uncle’s?
No need to say, it must be that little woman who taught him.
However, Jiayi couldn’t care less about the man’s gloomy expression and was only focused on quickly tucking her son into bed, "Of course! You’ll be as tall as Uncle."
Zaizai clenched the blanket and asked further, "Then can I have six-pack abs and two chest muscles like Uncle’s?"
Without missing a beat, Jiayi boasted recklessly, desperate to get her son to sleep, cajoling him, "As long as you sleep well, even a dozen abs won’t be a problem."
Zaizai continued to mutter, his tone quite envious, "Will my little bird also become like Uncle’s, turning into a big eagle?"
A child’s admiration for everything about his daddy is boundless.
The room suddenly fell silent.
After a brief silence, Jiayi immediately realized what he meant. Her face flushed like boiling water, probably because Zaizai had seen something during the bath that he shouldn’t have, and she scolded in a low voice, "Zaizai, don’t talk nonsense!"
Huo Zhenyang gave a light cough and also appeared somewhat embarrassed, "Zaizai, it’s bedtime."
Jiayi, too, was a bit flustered and dimmed the bedside lamp to its lowest setting. The light in the room dropped significantly, yet it became much cozier. She then looked towards Huo Zhenyang, signalling that he could go back to his own room to rest.
Huo Zhenyang narrowed his eyes, looking at the Little Meatball tucked in the blanket, and said with a poker face, "Hasn’t your mommy taught you what to say before bed these past few years?"
Jiayi gritted her teeth. Fine, she’d give him some face and winked at Zaizai, "Zaizai, say goodnight to Uncle."
Zaizai obediently called out, "Uncle, goodnight."
His gaze darkened as he corrected firmly, "Call me Daddy, you’re not allowed to call me Uncle in the future."
Zaizai glanced at his mommy, whose expression wasn’t very good, and didn’t want to upset her. He pouted, "My last name is Chu, and your last name is Huo, we don’t share a surname. If we say it out loud, no one would believe you’re my daddy."
Ha, this must be that little woman’s teaching again. Huo Zhenyang’s face darkened further. Jiayi, fearing his anger, quickly interjected and tucked Zaizai into the blanket, "Alright, sleep now. You get too excited when you talk a lot at night."
She looked towards Huo Zhenyang again, "It’s late, Zaizai has to go to kindergarten tomorrow, and you must be tired from all the fuss tonight. Go get some rest."
He suddenly fell silent, but his eyes lingered on her intently.
That gaze made Jiayi’s heart skip a beat, thinking he was not willing to leave, but a few seconds later, he quietly turned and walked away.
Jiayi sighed with relief, seeing his figure departing the guest room, she jumped out of bed, tiptoed to the bedroom door and locked it from the inside. Now, there was no way he could come in, right? She returned to the bed with her mind at ease, went to take a shower, changed clothes, and got into bed.
Back in bed, with the lights off, the Little Meatball beside her was breathing evenly, his cheeks flushed as he was sound asleep, already deep in unknown games with the Duke of Zhou.
Jiayi herself was tired, she snuggled into the covers, and soon her eyelids drooped, sliding into a light slumber.
As the night deepened, she didn’t know how much time had passed when she felt a heavy breathing next to her ear, tickling it, then that breath continued, drifting down to her neck.
A pair of strong and nimble arms reached around from behind her, encircling her waist.
Her mind flickered with awareness, and her drowsiness cleared substantially.
It was him!
How did he get here? She had clearly locked the door!
Oh—right, this was the guest bedroom, connected to the main bedroom, and she hadn’t locked the connecting door!
She had forgotten—
As soon as she opened her eyes wide, thinking of turning over, the man behind her covered her lips with one large hand and wrapped the other even more tightly around her slender waist, pressing her into his embrace. He whispered into her ear, "...unless you want to wake up our son."
This was her first night moving into Disheng, a perfect night to be together with her—it was a night he was unwilling to simply let go.
She glanced at Zaizai, who was breathing evenly beside her, and had to stop struggling. In his warm and broad palm, she complained discontentedly, "I didn’t expect you to be so naturally skilled at being a thief."
The little woman’s tone was laced with sarcasm.
He didn’t mind at all and, before her words even finished, he gripped her waist, lifted her entire body horizontally, and then got out of bed, heading towards the master bedroom.
"You, you’re crazy—what are you doing?" She was startled and whispered urgently, afraid to wake Zaizai, yet not daring to be too loud.
He stopped in his tracks, grabbed her slipping hand, and pulled it up to wrap around his neck. He lowered his voice, "Zaizai is so big now, still clinging to mommy to sleep would impact his physical and mental health—go to sleep over there."
Going over and sleeping with him would impact her physical and mental health too, alright!
She struggled silently in the man’s arms like a little wild bull, desperately trying to jump down, but she couldn’t match his strength at all.
Carrying her, he walked to the door connecting the main and secondary bedrooms, strode through unhesitatingly, and kicked the door behind him with a neither light nor heavy touch.
In the master bedroom, he threw her onto the big couch, neither too gently nor too forcefully.
She immediately sat up, very alert, and was about to jump down barefoot, "What are you doing—"
He wrapped her up with a big blanket, tucked her in, and pressed down, "What am I doing? Sleeping. It’s the middle of the night, what else do you want to do?"
As he spoke, he also lay down, habitually enveloping her from behind. His large hand wrapped around her soft waist without any hesitation.
Jiayi felt his breathing was very steady, as if he truly didn’t intend to do anything else, and her tense heart finally settled down.
The man’s body carried a familiar and nice scent, sweet and natural, like the fragrance of original wood from the forest—it made one’s heart race when overbearing, and brought tranquility when settled.
And such an embrace in sleep was not the first time.
Jiayi unexpectedly didn’t resist as much, perhaps knowing it would be in vain anyway.
Just before falling into the sweet abyss of sleep, she thought that once he fell asleep, she would sneak over to the secondary bedroom.
But the whole night passed in sound sleep, dreamless until dawn. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Perhaps because she had finally been discharged from the hospital, she slept soundly and sweetly, until light entered her vision and her eyelids fluttered open.
Daylight poured in, casting a warm golden glow throughout the bedroom—it was morning.
She suddenly sat up and saw that Huo Zhenyang had already gotten up. He had evidently finished washing up, having changed from pajamas to a shirt and trousers, and was now standing in front of the dressing mirror in one corner of the bedroom, grooming himself.
The sunlight shone on the man’s sturdy and imposing body, reflecting an enchanting luster that could intoxicate the viewer.
Yet Jiayi wasn’t thinking about appreciating this beautiful scene in the morning light—she jumped out of bed.
Huo Zhenyang knew what she wanted to do, and turned half of his handsome face towards her, saying indifferently, "The servant has already taken Zaizai to the kindergarten."
Jiayi paused in her tracks, listening to him walking over, casually reaching for his suit jacket and tossing it into the air behind him with a smooth arc, slipping it on, "Today, ask Fang Yao to take a leave earlier, finish work two hours ahead and wait at the kindergarten entrance. I will go with you to pick up Zaizai."
She lifted her face in confusion, "For what?"
