Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 502 - 500: Return to America
Just then, the car had already stopped in front of the villa.
Before getting out, Huo Zhenyang looked through the car window and saw several men in black standing at the entrance of the villa.
Their expressions were serious, and they looked travel-worn, as if they had just arrived at Yunling.
"Boss, they’re bodyguards from the old man’s side," Ade turned his head.
Huo Zhenyang narrowed his eyes slightly, "Didn’t I say not to tell anyone about my injury in America?"
Looking at the situation, the old man must have found out yesterday and then immediately sent people by airplane to China.
"Boss, I didn’t inform the old man, and I reminded the people accompanying me not to mention it," Ade said, aggrieved.
Huo Zhenyang’s gaze shifted, knowing who had told the old man—Su Yan.
As the car pulled up outside the villa, Huo Zhenyang got out.
When the men saw their young master’s pale face and his arm in a sling, their expressions tightened as they approached, "Young master, are you alright?"
Huo Zhenyang said with a touch of jest, "Not dead yet. Did you especially come here just to ask that? Doesn’t the old man find it tiring?"
The men looked embarrassed, of course knowing that the young master’s words were a dig at the old man for being overly watchful.
Indeed, the young master wasn’t a three-year-old child; he was a man of age, a business tycoon who could shake the business world with a single stomp, now even preparing to venture into politics. Yet, the old man still treated the young master like a child, so of course the young master would be impatient.
However, one of the bodyguards who seemed like the leader still spoke up, "Young master, the old man sent us this time to bring you back. After all, you were shot and lost a lot of blood. The old man wants Dr. Kevin to give you a thorough check-up before he can rest easy."
The young master had undergone major surgery and hadn’t fully recovered; his body was still not like that of an average person, so it was normal for the old man to worry.
After saying this, the bodyguards were already prepared to be rejected by the young master using various excuses, or to be put off even if he agreed.
After a silence of a dozen seconds, to the bodyguards’ surprise, Huo Zhenyang lifted his chin decisively,
"Fine, I’ll return to America with you today."
——
Evening.
After work, Jiayi hurried to Disheng, holding a pot of pig liver soup she had cooked overnight following a recipe.
Upon entering the villa, she felt it was different from usual, much quieter.
Going upstairs, she saw the man’s bedroom was empty.
Su Yan’s guest room was also empty, and the luggage was gone.
She swallowed, hurried downstairs, and ran into the housemaid coming over.
"Housemaid, where is Mr. Huo? And... Miss Su?" Jiayi asked.
The housemaid’s tone was as cold as ever but polite, "Miss Chu, Mr. Huo, Miss Su, and Ade have temporarily gone back to America. Our master isn’t very confident in the medical standard here in China and has asked Mr. Huo to return to America for medical treatment for his gunshot wound. You’re lucky, Miss Chu. Mr. Huo said before he left that the repair expenses are to be forgotten. You no longer need to work at Disheng as a maid."
With that, the housemaid’s mouth curled up slightly.
She really couldn’t understand it. She didn’t know why the young master didn’t let her continue to repay the debt; it was letting her off too easily.
However, since it was the young master’s instruction, the housemaid could only pass on the message.
Moreover, Miss Su had also returned to America with the young master. These foxes in China couldn’t hope to cling to the young master anymore.
Jiayi was still a bit stunned and blurted out, "Mr. Huo is going back to America for treatment of a gunshot wound? Will he come back?"
The housemaid frowned for no reason, her tone sarcastic, "Whether he comes back or not doesn’t seem to be your concern anymore, does it? Since Mr. Huo doesn’t want you here at Disheng as a maid, it means you’re clear of each other! What, do you still want to linger around here? That’s all I have to say, Miss Chu. Please do as you wish."
The housemaid walked towards the main door, gesturing for Jiayi to leave.
Jiayi, holding the pig liver soup, hadn’t yet come to her senses and walked out of the villa.
Only when the night breeze blew did she somewhat snap back to reality.
That man just left like that? So sudden.
But, shouldn’t she be happy?
After all, the creditor had temporarily left the country, and her debt was waived.
Oh right—he even left her a house in Green Island Garden and a Minicooper...
In just a few months, she really didn’t know whether she owed him or he owed her.
Even though it was her debt, he seemed to have given even more...
Even this trip back to America to treat his gunshot wound was because of her.
She breathed in the night air; she should have felt relaxed by now, the burden and pressure of the past few months finally lifted, but for some reason, she just couldn’t feel happy.
Her heart felt hollow.
Last night, when she left Disheng, she said she would come back today to take care of him, and he had smiled faintly and agreed.
But now, at this moment, that man had already left China, and hadn’t even had the time to say goodbye to her?
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but mock herself—why would he need to say goodbye to her?
It’s ridiculous.
She wasn’t anyone to him.
Despite this, she couldn’t hide the feeling of loss within her and, carrying the insulated food container, she walked towards the exit of the villa.
Just as Jiayi was about to leave the villa area, her phone rang.
Jiayi stopped in her tracks and glanced at the screen; it was an unfamiliar number. Without looking too closely, she presumed it was a wrong number or maybe an advertisement.
She answered the phone with a tired, lazy tone: "Hello?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Hello."
A man’s voice broke through the dense night.
It was him.
Jiayi’s pupils dilated: "Mr. Huo?"
On the other end of the phone, the airplane was crossing the date line amongst the sea of clouds. Half of it was bright, half dark.
Just like his and her future, half bright, with hope in sight, yet half still unknown.
Hearing her voice, at an altitude of over twenty thousand feet, Huo Zhenyang’s heart suddenly stirred.
The woman on the other end, had once been with him, and had even borne his child.
Until this moment, after being on the airplane for a while, he still hadn’t fully come to his senses.
Damn.
He suddenly regretted not having the thrombectomy done in time.
He had encountered a woman who had given birth to his child, met her again, but cluelessly remained unaware.
He propped his arm on his forehead, furrowing his imposing eyebrows, his eyes narrowing.
"Zhenyang, the plane is hitting some turbulence, it might get a bit bumpy..." Su Yan just happened to peek in through the curtain, expressing her concern.
The Huo Family’s trip back to America was booked in first class.
Huo Zhenyang was in a private cabin, while Su Yan, Ade, and a few bodyguards were outside.
"Did I ask you to come in?" Huo Zhenyang’s voice was cold as iron, suddenly flashing with sharpness. Su Yan had known about that woman and Zaizai all along, but kept it from him; this was an account he hadn’t had time to settle with her in detail yet, but it didn’t mean he would forget.
His anger towards Su Yan had not yet subsided.
