Chapter 2208: Scattering the Star Region

As the Sages of the Illusory Sea of Stars gathered to deliberate, drawing out the Star River Stowaway and his Eternal Golden Boat in the process, an idea suddenly struck Shang Xia. Without hesitation, he plunged directly into the Star Region they were trying to relocate.

This let others sense him instantly, but it also allowed him to detect the aura of the Star Origin Lord’s clone at the same moment.

The instant they sensed each other, Shang Xia rushed straight at him, not caring at all that countless Illusory Sea of Stars’ experts and the Star River Stowaway might surround him again.

He had barely approached the edge of a Heavenly Field when countless meteors, formed from shattered asteroids, tore through the void toward him.

Shang Xia did not dodge. His speed did not change in the slightest.

The falling meteors, which should have struck him, suddenly exploded a thousand miles before reaching him, like blossoms of fireworks blooming in the void.

However... When he passed through the meteor curtain, the world he detected in the Heavenly Field that should have been before him... had vanished.

Shang Xia raised an eyebrow. He stretched out a finger and pointed into the void overhead. Instantaneously, boundless starlight cascaded downward, and the missing world began to reappear faintly.

Through the chaotic streams around and past the heavenly screen, Shang Xia seemed to sense the Star Origin Lord’s arrangements within. He gave a cold snort. In the next instant, a stream of light twisted slightly and enveloped the world entirely.

A disdainful laugh from the Star Origin Lord’s clone echoed through the void. This time it did not seem to come from everywhere at once, but rather from a specific direction, enough to make Shang Xia instinctively pause for half a breath.

That pause was all it took.

In the next heartbeat, the massive silhouettes of countless worlds, each separated by hundreds of millions of miles, appeared simultaneously throughout the Star Region.

Though separated by astronomical distances, invisible force fields connected them all like strands of a giant web covering the entire region. And Shang Xia was a tiny insect trapped in its tightening mesh.

Yet this the ‘insect’, with a single shake of his body, sent ripples through that invisible web. Void waves expanded across the Star Region. Even the outlines of the Heavenly Fields trembled faintly.

“Heh... The Illusory Sea of Stars may be famous for illusions, capable even of creating a grand illusion that fooled you. But illusions are hardly the only thing the Illusory Sea of Stars excels at.” The Star Origin Lord’s clone’s voice reverberated throughout the Star Region. Wherever the voice passed, starlight poured down, tightening and reinforcing the unseen web.

Yet Shang Xia only smiled lightly. “It seems that the strike earlier really did wound you badly. You don’t even dare show yourself, only hiding and manipulating a formation laid across an entire Star Region.”

The Star Origin Lord’s clone replied, “If one can subdue an opponent with borrowed strength, why do I have to fight?”

Shang Xia acted as if he hadn’t heard, and continued, “I am curious, my strike in the Star River definitely hit your Fate Star. It couldn’t destroy it, but surely it affected your true body. As for your clone, the impact should not have been so severe as to make you cower in hiding. Why then do you not even dare face me?”

The clone let out a cold laugh. “Ignorant child. You think you understand the might of my true body? I have planned for over 1,000 years. How could a mere attack on a single Fate Star harm me?”

Shang Xia once again ignored him. “I see now. You must have used a secret art to transfer the damage from your Fate Star to your clone. That explains why you dare not appear, hiding behind this grand formation.”

This time, the Star Origin Lord’s clone did not immediately retort. Only after a moment of silence did he speak. He sounded a lot more serious than before. “Shang Xia, must you prattle on? Do not forget, you are still imprisoned within this Heavenly Field Star Locked Formation!”

But the moment his words fell, Shang Xia suddenly laughed. “I found you!”

With a sweep of his Crimson Soul Tablet, starlight tore through the void, slicing apart the invisible web linking one world to another. In that instant, the restraints vanished. Shang Xia stepped forward, and disappeared into the rift. The space where he had stood continued to be replaced by the formation’s illusion.

The seventh form of his Seven Star Mace Technique, Shifting Dipper!

He had not used it to swap places with an opponent. He had used it on himself, shifting his own position entirely.

The next moment, at the edge of the Star Region, the void ruptured and an Eternal Golden Boat appeared. After a brief hesitation, it sped toward a distant location.

Behind it, through the not-yet-closed spatial rift, the Sages of the Illusory Sea of Stars surged forth in pursuit.

But before the Star River Stowaway’s vessel reached the Star Origin Lord’s clone, the heavenly screen suddenly tore apart. A thunderous explosion shook the entire Star Region. Even the invisible force fields linking different Heavenly Fields were partially ripped open.

In that instant, as the Star River Stowaway arrived near the Heavenly Field where the Star Origin Lord’s clone was, he witnessed a sky full of shattered stars and floating fragments of broken landmasses hurled outward from the ruptured world.

Next came a tattered Barbaric World, then a ruined Azure World. Finally, even an intact Spirit World was forced out of the Heavenly Field formed around the Essence World that anchored the Heavenly Field.

Torn free and expelled from the Heavenly Field, the Spirit World was being frantically pushed away by several high-level True Immortals of their world as they fled in panic.

In the blink of an eye, the Star River Stowaway watched an entire Heavenly Field collapse into ruin.
