Sensing danger, Shang Xia immediately sped up, ignoring the slicing shards of space around him, and dove headlong into the collapsing rift.

But his intrusion had clearly alerted both Sages who had been fighting. The instant he burst through, both combatants, who had been locked in confrontation, simultaneously turned their attacks toward him.

Surveying the environment, Shang Xia quickly deduced that, like other forbidden regions in the other Star Regions, the Essence World Ruins had already absorbed a significant amount of origin qi from a foreign Star Field.

However, due to the ruins’ unique environment, the origin qi that infiltrated could not disperse evenly or in an orderly fashion throughout the surrounding space.

“In that case...” Shang Xia thought to himself, “I must either find the true source of the origin qi leaking from the other Star Field, the void channel connecting them, or rely on luck, searching one space after another.”

As he thought to himself, he looked around carefully and soon noticed a floating island faintly visible in the depths of the void below him. He immediately sped toward it.

But he had not flown far before realizing that his flight path had somehow drifted away from the island’s direction.

That did not surprise him. Although the region appeared stable, the surrounding void was already twisted. One careless move could trap him in something like a spatial maze.

And yet, the space was also dangerously fragile. If Shang Xia tried to forcefully break through to reach the floating island, it might instantly cause the entire space to collapse, and possibly destroy the island in the process.
