"They were not even willing to give the Essence Mu World the promise of granting it the Spirit Worlds once subordinate to the Essence Zhen World to help form a Heavenly Field! They didn’t even bother lying to me!”

After returning, Mei Jingya muttered in half-despair when she saw Shang Xia again.

Shang Xia’s expression did not change. He did not even ask what she planned next and he stated simply, "Your high-level Sage Rong Ding might have already sensed my presence.”

Mei was startled, then quickly dismissed it. "So what?"

Shang Xia smiled faintly without answering. In truth, he knew she had something to do with his presence being exposed.

A wisp of his divine soul was attached to the Emberkindled Legacy Talisman which she had been carrying.

Normally, the domain of any expert remained firmly in their control. Even more so when she had drawn on the power of her world. Since she was meeting the Sages of the Towering Star Region who had cast her aside, she would have been prepared for any sneak attacks. At the very least, she would have kept her domain more tightly guarded.

With the domain shielding her, his faint divine soul should not have been detectable. Yet Rong Ding had definitely sensed him.

Shang Xia chuckled. "Since I could enter without alerting anyone, I can naturally leave undetected.”

Mei Jingya’s face went pale before it flushed with embarrassment. Realizing her plan had failed, she no longer bothered about her appearance and she begged, “Sage Shang... Please, do you know of any way to spare my Essence Mu World from being cast into the origin of the void currents?”

From the second it happened, Shang Xia already knew why she had exposed his presence. However, even though she was begging him in person, he shook his head decisively. “I am no match for all the Sages of your Towering Star Region. Much less if the Gathered Sea of Stars is involved.”

Despair filled her. "Then is there truly no other way?"

Shang Xia continued to shake his head and he snorted, "What’s done is done. I have nothing more to offer. I will take my leave now. Till we meet again!"

Mei Jingya had thought to plead further, but the words died in her throat. Since she had tried to manipulate him, binding him to the fate of her Essence Mu World, she created the gulf between them herself.

In truth, they had only just met. To claim any deep bond was impossible.

For Shang Xia to remain courteous for such a long time was already commendable. If she pressed further, she would truly make a new powerful enemy for her world.

As he turned to leave, she seemed to have thought of something and she cried out, "Sage Shang! The Star Origin Lord once used the void currents to sweep the Essence Zhen World into the Heaven Observation Star Region. Could you not use the same to carry my Essence Mu World away from the Towering Star Region?"

Shang Xia halted briefly, then shook his head without turning around. With another step, he vanished into the chaotic streams.

Yet perhaps because of that sudden thought, Mei Jingya no longer looked as desperate as before. Light flickered in her eyes as schemes formed in her mind.

Meanwhile, Shang Xia had passed through the chaotic streams around the Essence Mu World and emerged into the void of the Towering Star Region.

Sweeping his divine soul around, he quickly discovered traces of surveillance from different Sages waiting for him, just like Mei Jingya had warned.

A sneer left his lips as he activated the Big Dipper Star Origin in his dantian to draw on the power of the Big Dipper Star Formation. He unleashed Dipper Annihilation with all his might.

The void, dimly lit by countless stars, was plunged into total darkness.

Having suppressed his aura to the utmost and concealed his trail, Shang Xia prepared to depart.

But then, tens of thousands of miles away from where he was leaving, around the chaotic streams around the Essence Mu World, a thunderous blast shook the heavens, drawing everyone who had been paying attention to the situation that way.

"Gong Sunliang, what’s the meaning of this?! Do you think I would abandon the Essence Mu World and flee?" Mei Jingya’s shrill voice tore through the void. Even at that distance, Shang Xia heard it clearly.

"Sage Mei, please don’t misunderstand!" Gong Sunliang was startled. He apologized quickly, but the trace of suspicion he held in his tone couldn’t be hidden.

Shang Xia smiled faintly, realizing Mei Jingya was diverting their attention to cover his escape, though he needed no help.

Still, it made slipping free of their watch all the more easier.

The Sages of the Towering Star Region were no fools. From the big commotion she caused, they quickly suspected she was helping the mysterious expert who had foiled their plans flee. They quickly extended their divine souls across millions of miles around the Essence Mu World.

Too bad for them, they found nothing. The person they had been looking for was long gone.

Even though they knew she had done it intentionally, they dared not show their anger. After all, to ensure the Essence Mu World took the place of the Essence Zhen Heavenly Field and to be cast into the void currents, they knew they had to appease her.

While that was happening, Shang Xia was following the routes marked on the Star Chart he held to make his way over to the region where the Essence Zhen Heavenly Field once stood.

After all, the Essence Mu World had been the closest to the Essence Zhen Heavenly Field. It didn’t take him long to catch sight of where they once were.

However, the destruction of the Essence Zhen Heavenly Field left the void there extremely fragile, and chaotic streams flowed erratically through the void. Corroded void were exposed and even after such a long time, they showed no signs of fully recovering.
