Splitting the Heavens-Chapter 2088: How Are You So Strong?

The Essence Zhen World that was escaping the void currents crashed back down, dragging the two super Star Ships still connected to it, crashing back down. An enraged roar echoed from within the Essence Zhen World as their mid-level Sage appeared again above the heavenly screen. He reached his hand out towards Shang Xia as bolts of lightning created from world origin, flashed through the void and struck Shang Xia.

At the same time, dozens of True Immortals acted together, flinging out the broken chain, binding it to the third super Star Ship. With it connected once again, three super Star Ships started to drag the Essence Zhen World. With three ships, the Essence Zhen World was finally stabilized.

Shang Xia’s actions were momentarily halted by the relentless lightning piercing through the void.

Up ahead, space rippled like water, and four figures emerged. Each of them released the aura of first star Sages, and every single one of them were people Shang Xia was familiar with.

They hadn’t come to catch up with Shang Xia. The four immediately launched a joint assault.

Shang Xia might be strong, but he wasn’t able to divert all the lightning with Dipper Guidance. Seamlessly linking his strike to Shifting Dipper, the lightning that was flying at him started to strike at the four first star Sages.

But the lightning, weakened after crossing layers of void, was no real threat to them. Shang Xia’s main idea was to hold them down for some time as he swung his Seven Star Mace down at the Essence Zhen World once again.

Boundless starlight fell from the voids, and even the stars in the distance seemed to dim.

His strike was not meant to force the Essence Zhen World back into the void currents. Rather, he wanted to crush the resistance they had put up above the heavenly screen. Once they were dealt with, the ability of the Essence Zhen World to resist would be greatly weakened.

Sensing the impending catastrophe that was about to descend, the mid-level Sage of the Essence Zhen World called for everyone to retreat. At the same time, he gathered their strength and the power of the world’s will, trying to resist the mighty blow of the high-level Sage that was Shang Xia.

With the Seven Star Mace falling, the void itself seemed to groan under the strain.

The next second, the mid-level Sage vanished as the heavenly screen caved in before shattering to pieces. For the first time, the Essence Zhen World lay exposed to Shang Xia.

Still, the broken heavenly screen had disrupted the Essence Zhen World’s escape, once more hindering its withdrawal from the void currents.

Yet before Shang Xia could act again, the void behind him trembled. A massive palm tore through the starlight that fell, reaching in to seize the Essence Zhen World. Wherever it passed, the void froze solid.

Shang Xia’s expression darkened. He swung his Seven Star Mace once again, unleashing Shattered Starry Skies to break apart the frozen space before using Falling Dipper to break apart the palm.

The hand had already scooped up the Essence Zhen World, shoving it quickly away from Shang Xia.

“Young Friend Shang, I trust you are well?” The Star Origin Lord’s voice boomed directly in Shang Xia’s mind.

His heart sank.

The Star Origin Lord had not appeared in person, meaning his body had not yet been remade. Even for him, recreating a clone at the grand completion stage was no easy feat.

But if he could extend his might over to the void currents without sending a clone over... That would mean that they were already dangerously close to the Five Essence Heavenly Field.

Shang Xia said nothing, leaping across the void to give chase.

The Star Origin Lord would not allow it. Having pushed the Essence Zhen World away from Shang Xia, he turned his full might against Shang Xia, trying to trap him in the void currents.

With that, both of them clashed, and Shang Xia’s expression changed instantly.

In a head-on exchange, he was actually forced onto the back foot.

The Star Origin Lord’s strength far exceeded that of the clone Shang Xia had fought before.

Shang Xia quickly realized why. They were too near the Five Essence Heavenly Field, and the Star Origin Lord was drawing strength from the Heavenly Field itself. With five Essence Worlds, the power he could draw upon surpassed any ordinary Heavenly Field.

Shang Xia had known the Heavenly Field would empower him, but not to such an overwhelming extent.

Seeing this, Shang Xia redirected the void currents still lingering in the space, driving it back toward the escaping Essence Zhen World.

The Star Origin Lord’s mockery rang in his mind once again. “This branch was opened by me... Are you really planning to use it against me? Young Friend Shang, your tricks are useless against me!”

At his words, the void currents that Shang Xia controlled were instantly crushed beneath the giant palm.

Shang Xia did not falter. Instead, a strange smile appeared on his face. “Hehe... It is I who has bought enough time. If the others can’t arrive in time... I guess it’s only fate.”

Even as he spoke, he felt the Star Origin Lord’s aura waver. The four first star Sages who had joined the battle retreated in haste.

Shang Xia burst into laughter, striding forward and snapping his mace, shattering the void. The Star Origin Lord was forced to block, but the second they made contact, Shang Xia could sense that his opponent’s strength had disappeared.

“It seems the Sages of the Heaven Observation Star Region have arrived. They might have even run into the Essence Zhen World that had exited the void currents. Haha! Looks like the Star Origin Lord had to split a portion of his energy to deal with them...”
