Splitting the Heavens-Chapter 2071: Leaving The Floating Star Region
Wanggui had voluntarily severed the connection between the Star Origin Talisman and Shang Xia. Although Shang Xia was not surprised, he still tried to use the power of the Dipper Star Formation to determine roughly where Wanggui might be.
However, whether because the restrictions in the Desolate Forbidden Region were too powerful, or because Wanggui’s sealing methods were too amazing, his attempt ultimately ended in failure.
Shang Xia pondered in secret that, if he could get the help of Grand Stargazer, he might still be able to locate Wanggui’s general position from outside.
Unfortunately, Yuan Qiuyuan was still in seclusion, attempting to break through to the fourth tier of the Martial Void Realm. The other Stargazers in the fleet couldn’t help him as much as their achievements in the art of stargazing were far from comparable to Yuan Qiuyuan.
By then, the Beast Tide threat in the Floating Star Region had been temporarily lifted, and the invasion from the Taming Star Field had eased because the passages from the Desolate Forbidden Region had been destroyed. Shang Xia had also learned the secrets he wanted from Wanggui and had absorbed enough energy.
The fleet, swollen almost to the point of exploding from taking in the refugees of the Essence Yue Heavenly Field and several world fragments, no longer had any reason to linger in the Floating Star Region.
At Shang Xia’s command, the large Star Ship, Chasing Wind, departed first. One after another, the filled Star Ships and Arks followed at a slow pace. The enormous fleet began to accelerate away from the Floating Star Region, setting out once more for the Heaven Observation Star Region.
Just as the fleet was about to leave the Floating Star Region, a medium Star Ship came up from behind and quickly merged into the formation.
In Shang Xia’s cabin, Tian Mengzi reported the details of his trip.
"So you never met Sage Feiyuan of the Essence You Heavenly Field?" Shang Xia mused.
Tian Mengzi nodded with a wry smile. "I didn’t even manage to enter the Essence You World. I was stopped outside the heavenly screen by a high-level True Immortal who claimed to be Sage Feiyuan’s junior. They told me he entered seclusion to recover and was not receiving visitors, then courteously escorted me out of their Heavenly Field. The True Immortal accompanied and watched me the whole way until I left completely. They did, however, accept the gifts you asked me to deliver with full respect, though I don’t know whether they will actually pass them to Sage Feiyuan."
Shang Xia nodded. "That was to be expected. After all, I personally inflicted serious wounds on Lu Feiyuan. They would hardly treat you warmly."
Tian Mengzi agreed. "In truth, if not for going under your banner, I might have been attacked before I even entered the Essence You World."
Shang Xia smiled. "If you didn’t meet him, so be it. As long as Lu Feiyuan sees what I sent, he will naturally understand the reason. Of course, that assumes those things ultimately reach his hands."
Tian Mengzi raised his eyebrow and gasped, "Would anyone dare to pocket a gift sent to Sage Feiyuan?"
Shortly after the massive fleet of the Essence Luxuriant Heavenly Field finally left the Floating Star Region, two high-level Sages appeared almost simultaneously at the border of the Star Region.
Gazing in the direction the fleet had gone, Lu Xin, the younger Sage, turned to Xin Zhi and asked, "Senior, has Sage Shang truly left his companion to fend for himself? What do you make of this?"
Though Xin Zhi’s face looked aged, the deep light in his eyes revealed a seasoned sharpness that saw through worldly matters. "He is a being who came from the boundless void in the sea of stars. Judging from how he rushed into the forbidden region, this so-called Wanggui is very likely a former Sage of one of the Heavenly Fields of our Floating Star Region." Xin Zhi analyzed slowly, his tone so calm it seemed devoid of emotion.
Lu Xin had, through years of rivalry and cooperation with Xin Zhi, come to understand the latter’s temperament somewhat.
Thus, although Xin Zhi spoke with feigned serenity, Lu Xin still heard mockery and schadenfreude in his words.
Even so, Lu Xin found it hard to believe. "A former Sage of our Star Region? Then his lifespan... Could he be someone from 1,000 years ago?"
"Ha!" Xin Zhi let out an ambiguous snort and continued, "So what? They are merely cowards who made themselves neither human nor beast. No wonder Sage Shang kept pressing us about Beast Warriors and the interior of the Desolate Forbidden Region."
Lu Xin thought for a moment before he continued, "If, as you say, he truly was a figure from 1,000 years ago in our Floating Star Region, and he had undergone Beast Warrior remolding, and Sage Shang saved his life, then news about Beast Warriors and those who created them should come from him... Why keep asking us?"
Xin Zhi replied casually, "Because they don’t trust each other and want to use us to cross-verify certain information."
Lu Xin looked over and asked, "Senior, have you already guessed Wanggui’s true identity?"
Xin Zhi shot a glance at the young high-level Sage who kept testing him and said blandly, "Why do you keep probing me? Haven’t you sent people to monitor the fleet’s movements all this time?"
Lu Xin smiled. "Sage Shang sent an envoy on a medium Star Ship with gifts to nearly every Heavenly Field in the region. He didn’t even skip Cui Fengji. Apart from the Essence You World, where, because Sage Feiyuan was injured, no meeting took place, all of us received True Immortal Tian...”
Xin Zhi sneered, "It’s a mere attempt to cover things up. They must already know the true identity of that guy. At the very least, they know which Heavenly Field he comes from.”
Lu Xin mumbled, "Should we dig into his true background? I cannot shake a sense of unease. He may become a serious threat in the future." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Xin Zhi scoffed, "So long as the Desolate Forbidden Region remains, have we ever lacked serious threats?"
Within the fleet returning to the Essence Luxuriant Heavenly Field, Shang Xia felt a massive problem stirring. Yuan Qiuyuan had failed his attempt to reach the fourth tier of the Martial Void Realm and suffered a heavy backlash.
