Splitting the Heavens-Chapter 2065: Desolate Forbidden Region Pt.8
Floating Star Region, the Desolate Forbidden Region.
Along with Lu Xin and Xin Zhi struck the largest breach in the center, the other Sages at the other six locations made their moves.
But unlike them, Shang Xia did not directly destroy the breach at his location. After Wanggui leapt into the passage, Shang Xia drew starlight and turned it into a pillar that poured in after him. Wherever the light passed, instead of breaking, the void was reinforced, the restrictions rendered useless.
From the moment Shang Xia sensed that the breaches were weaker on the Floating Star Region’s side but far stronger deeper inside, he had suspected as much. The Taming Star Field experts hidden within had anticipated the Floating Star Region’s actions. They would allow the outer layers to collapse, then, once the Sages withdrew, reopen the largely intact inner passages. That would spell even greater disaster, especially if the Floating Star Region’s experts remained unaware.
So Shang Xia chose instead to fortify the passage from his side, making it solid enough to support the charge of experts both in and out. Wanggui’s advance made his plan even more convincing.
Naturally, there was another reason for him to do so. He wanted ot support Wanggui in his journey.
Though Wanggui was strong, whenever he unleashed his strength, his suppressed mutation would flare up again. Once it did, he risked losing his human form and his reason. He would be little better than a Beast Warrior. Shang Xia’s inner qi could slow the suppression, though not stop it.
Wanggui’s end would either be to lose his mind completely or to end his own life.
Shang Xia doubted he would retain the clarity for the latter choice.
At that moment, violent ripples spread through the void above him, followed by thunderous roars. The other Sages had begun their all-out assault on the six breaches.
Though Shang Xia’s side remained relatively quiet, his starlight pillar was bright enough to convince the rest that he was doing something. No one suspected a thing. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
It was also then that, along with Wanggui’s intrusion, the experts of the Taming Star Field could no longer hold back! He made a move!
However... The person who attacked didn’t try to sever the void passage. Instead, they unleashed a rank seven art and tried to use their familiarity with the surroundings to try to force Wanggui away.
Despite unleashing a rank seven art, his focus wasn’t fully on Wanggui. He left behind a portion of energy not just to defend against Wanggui’s possible counterattack. Instead, it was to reinforce the restrictions around.
Since he was distracted by the approaching Wanggui, the expert on the other side failed to detect Shang Xia, who was following closely behind.
They might not have detected Shang Xia, but Shang Xia sure as hell discovered their presence. Unfortunately, determining the other side was a sixth star Sage was all he could do. He couldn’t see the other party.
Wanggui, meanwhile, struck back. To suppress his mutation, his aura had been masked as a mid-level Sage, but his true strength was far greater. The only thing he had to give up when he went all out was merely something he didn’t wish to see...
However, to find his cure, Wanggui didn’t care any longer. Releasing an inhuman roar, the starlight veil around him contracted into a jade-like talisman, a rank seven Origin Star Talisman that served as a beacon for Shang Xia. The starlight pillar following behind had its guidance fixed, never losing his trail.
At the same time, his body erupted in writhing tendrils, his aura soaring back to a high-level Sage. Yet because of the starlight Shang Xia summoned, part of his reason held, keeping him from descending fully into monstrosity.
Both he and the expert from the Taming Star Field avoided damaging the passage, each attack tempered with control. Still, their battle churned the space around them violently. Shards of collapsing void within the tangled restrictions turned into invisible blades sharp enough to wound Sages. From where he stood, Wanggui bore the brunt of the threat, though Shang Xia’s assistance dealt with many possible threats at the side.
For the first time, Shang Xia finally had a clear feeling of a battle between two Star Fields!
The Crimson Soul Tablet in his sea of consciousness started to buzz, and he was no stranger to the feeling. Back in the great Spatial Vortex, the Nebula Forbidden Region, and space around the Void Mirage... It was the tablet’s hunger, for world origin from beyond!
Without a doubt, the energy contained in the Desolate Forbidden Region, when the energies contained in both Star Fields mixed, underwent some sort of transformation. It wasn’t at the quality of the Eighth Order yet, but it was still purer than the world origin of Essence Worlds. It was something the Crimson Soul Tablet truly desired.
In that case... He needed as much as he could get!
It was a shame all he could touch was the faint spill from the region around because of their clash. Unless he entered the Desolate Forbidden Region personally to harvest the transformed energy there, he might not be able to...
No, perhaps, there might be another way!
