Blip’s Afterthoughts: Splitting the Heavens

Greetings, fellow Daoists! Before I ramble off, many thanks to our fellow readermen, readerwomen, readerchildren, and readercreatures for finishing this journey with me. Splitting the Heavens would never have come so far if not for all of you, and I truly hope that you’ve enjoyed the story as much as me. Words cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for getting to translate such an amazing book (despite the RUSHED AND UNCONCLUDED ending) and for all your unwavering support! I really, really, love this book and all of you. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

So... Here goes my rambling! If you're too lazy to read it, feel free to skip to the bottom as I’ll announce something interesting that is still related to Splitting the Heavens despite the end of our book!

Hey everyone! It’s been a long one... To be exact, I started translating Splitting the Heavens in October 2022, after translating Invincible. It truly has been a long and fulfilling 3++ years? And there is no question about it. Like I’ve always been saying to our WW team, Splitting the Heavens is like my child, just that it hasn’t been a very obedient one... Personally, I recall when I had so much more free time back when the book just started to write long translator’s thoughts and make random stickman drawings. Yes, it’s decreased over the years due to all my additional commitments, from our really wacky schedule of me drawing once every few months, to just our yearly April Fool’s joke.

I have to apologize for the lack of events as well as I couldn’t really come up with many ideas for Splitting the Heavens, despite my usual wonky shenanigans.

A little backstory about my feelings when translating Splitting the Heavens... HAHAHA TRANSLATOR BLIP’s LORE IF YOU WOULD HAVE IT:

Sooo... If you’re interested in more yankeedoodle mickey mouse clubhouse vibes translations, feel free to check out my current other novel, This Game is Too Realistic! But if you’re looking for my previous (not so mature translation style) books, I’m sure you’ve heard of the once-popular Invincible! Which if you’re a long time reader, definitely seen me dropping references to it 0.o! In addition, if you notice the different chapter names from time to time, there are lots of easter eggs of novels I really like and have read in the past. If you wanna go a little further back with something that is a little less mainstream with a female lead, you can even check out Poison Physician Consort!

I have to say, reading since the start of the Translation Era 12 years ago has been extremely eye opening, and translating for the past 9 has been even more exciting. Despite Splitting the Heavens not being my first complete book... It’s still my favorite (for now!) Starting a new book every time is a difficult process, but it’s surely easier as I go along, and adapting to the author’s writing style is one of the best feelings... Gives me a sense of achievement.

...

Real important point begins here:

Even though Splitting the Heavens ended, MY journey with it will not end yet! Like This Game is Too Realistic, my grand plan eventually is to own an iconic artifact of every novel I’ve translated! I will be commissioning one of Shang Xia’s weapons to be modeled and displayed forever, and I would love to see some comments giving some recommendations for what I should make! Currently, I’m leaning towards the Crimson Soul Tablet (mace) but strong contenders are the Five Element Yin Yang Ring and the Shang Clan Spear! Feel free to give me more ideas below!

Finally, not to fear, Cultivation Blip isn’t disappearing just yet! NEW NEW book to be released soon, so if you like my translations, GET READY TO GO ON ANOTHER RIDE WITH ME SOON (I cannot disclose when it will be released or the title) but it will be soon!

For all those looking for another book to read before my NEW NEW book, I highly recommend This Game is Too Realistic. The world building and character development is ABSOLUTELY INSANE. It definitely is a contender for one of the best books out there, and that’s coming from someone who’s read 12 years of novels!
