Chapter 72: Chapter 72—Forceful Teammate.

Cole felt quite a bit of satisfaction deep in himself seeing Sylvester’s unconscious body.

While maintaining a steady expression, he walked off the arena toward the others.

Cole observed the shocked expressions on some students’ faces and even some teachers.

This increased his satisfaction even further.

"Wait for me, you all!" He thought to himself.

While he was approaching, different thoughts ran through the student’s mind.

"He is dangerous," some thought.

"I need to report this as soon as possible," one thought with a dark expression.

Before anyone could notice, he quickly swapped his expression to an amiable smile.

The moment Cole joined the others, Eleanor also arrived with the unconscious Sylvester.

"You guys can leave now; your classes resume normally tomorrow."

The students didn’t delay and hurriedly turned around to leave. They passed by everywhere they had previously been and even experienced the searing heat at the entrance.

Outside the Forging Hall, everyone disbanded, heading in separate directions.

Cole and Bryan did the same and proceeded to head to their hostel. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

The day was over already, as the sun had already begun setting. At one point in their journey, they suddenly stopped on the steps.

In front of them was a red-headed girl wearing a familiar frustrated expression.

The girl sensed their presence and urgently turned to look at them.

"What took you so long?" She asked.

Cole was taken aback by her words again. His encounter with this girl had always been a little weird.

"Why are you here?" he responded with a question of his own.

Linda didn’t bother responding to his question; she only stared at him with a serious expression before saying in a low voice, "

"Can I join your team for the Academic mission?"

"Why?" Cole asked.

He was quite suspicious of Linda’s behavior. She always seemed to want to get close to him for one reason or another.

He knew it wasn’t for romantic reasons, because that wasn’t almost Impossible but it still didn’t give him an idea of what she wanted.

"I need to get away from Cain, and I think you are strong enough to help," she said.

"And I know I am strong enough and won’t be a burden." confidence reappeared on her face.

Cole thought about her words for a while; he couldn’t see any reason not to acknowledge her decision.

And he does accept she is strong, maybe even stronger than he was if she went all out.

He turned to look towards Bryan, who was silently standing not far behind.

They didn’t exchange any words, only sharing a nod. Having gotten confirmation from the other members of the team.

"No problem then; you can join us," Cole said.

"I will come to find you when it is time," Linda responded before turning around to leave.

While she walked away, Linda felt a little guilt in her heart while she thought.

"I would do anything for Father."

Both Cole and Bryan watched Linda walk away while maintaining her aura of confidence.

"She would be a strong addition to the team; her offensive capabilities are really massive," Bryan said when he got back beside Cole.

"I think so too," Cole agreed.

After that little interruption, their journey had been resolved. The two continued their journey back to the hostel.

The two went through paths they had never gone through before, and they observed new paths in the academy that they had seen before.

"The academy is so much larger than I thought," Cole thought while he moved ahead.

"Let’s head over as soon as we can." Cole suddenly caught a voice from somewhere behind them.

He turned to see two students that looked to be second-year students shuffling along, trying to get somewhere as soon as possible.

"Where are they headed?" Cole wondered.

"Bryan, do you have any idea?" Cole asked with an interested expression.

Cole observed the excited expression on the student’s face, and that was the exact thing that had intrigued him.

"Uhmmm, they are probably heading to the Duel Arena," Bryan said.

"Duel arena, where’s that?" Cole asked.

"You seriously haven’t been there before; you are really weird. " Bryan said.

"The duel arena is where students can settle conflict, offer challenges, and even battle for the arena ranking," Bryan said with sparkling eyes.

Despite personally enjoying peace, he was one who could understand the true joy of battle even if he didn’t want to participate in it.

"Duel Arena. That sounds like a place that would involve a lot of ability usage," Cole thought.

"I really need to check it out then."

Cole had been thinking of his lost ability lately. He wanted to find a way to record a new ability as soon as possible to make up for his reduced strength.

Though Kinetic Acceleration was a really good ability, it didn’t really grant him any offensive abilities, which he urgently needed.

He had been lost as to what to do for a while now, since usage of abilities isn’t really common in normal day-to-day academy life.

Leaving him with no opportunity to even find an ability.

The thought about abilities took his mind back to his battle with Sylvester just some time ago.

Sylvester’s ability that suddenly rendered him immobile was something that was completely new to him.

"Abilities really are diverse," he reaffirmed again.

He looked back towards the direction the students were heading in one last time before taking his eyes away to other things.

"I will be back to check this out," Cole thought.

The two of them continued towards their hostel, and in no time they arrived back there.

Cole entered the room to lie on the bed while thinking of that specific encounter.

"The Duel arena uhhh,"

With that thought, Cole closed his eyes and got ready to fall asleep.

But things didn’t go as he planned.

Cole’s whole body felt extremely active. He couldn’t fall asleep no matter how hard he tried.

He tossed and turned in bed while the night grew darker.

"Haaaaaaa, I can’t do this anymore."

"Time to visit the Duel Arena then," he said with an excited expression.
